Purple Adobe Lavender Farm, Abiquiu, NM
Welcome to Purple Adobe Lavender Farm, an eco-sensitive, lifestyle business over 15 years in the making. It is a residential haven, a visitor's destination and a producer of all-natural bath, body & culinary products. The 22 acre working farm offers a holistic way of life for new owners. You can live in the attractively remodeled 2 bedroom residence & oversee the on-site gift store, cafe, nurseries & workshop. A second home is available for your farm manager and/or office staff. The farm is located in a verdant valley with views of mountains & mesas. It is an inspired setting with 800 ft of Chama river frontage. An extensive irrigation system tied to 3 wells feeds the mature lavender plants, rose bushes & fruit trees. Events & farm tours bring visitors from around the country. They enjoy the lavender-based teas, sorbets & baked goods at the cafe. They are often first introduced to the spa-quality bath products at the gift store & then replenish their supplies through the website or at the NM retailers that carry these products. The development work is complete. Several revenue streams & product lines have been developed. According to the organic farming community, the market for lavender is where the domestic wine industry was two decades ago. This farm & its high-quality, aromatherapeutic-grade lavender will put new owners in a position to take advantage of this trend for years.

Save Your Money, Don't Go Here / Hyde Memorial State Park / Purple Adobe Lavender Farm
Oh boy, did I discover a dud of all tourist attractions in New Mexico. The Purple Adobe Lavender Farm looked like a wonderful stop, as I traveled south from the Chama area down to Santa Fe. Watch this video to see why I can’t really recommend this place.
Also, in this video, I show you around Hyde Memorial State Park in New Mexico, which turned out to be another dud! If you are researching the State Parks of New Mexico, I’d say it’s not worth bothering with this one.
Usually, I hope that you will visit the places that I bring to you. But in this case, I am mostly trying to help save you some time and trouble by avoiding these places all together.

Marsha Mason Mystical Land Promotional Video
When four-time Oscar-nominated Marsha Mason came to Abiquiu, New Mexico, years ago, the land had sat idle for many years. As she nurtured it back to life, the land nurtured her, and she created Rio Abajo Rio, her certified organic medicinal herb farm.
The land runs along a two-mile stretch of the Rio Chama. In a state where water is precious and scarce, abundant water rights are available throughout the propertys 247 acres, ready to accommodate a wealth of possibilities.
The main house encircles a central courtyard and a fountain a classic Argentinean estancia. It hugs the earth a long, screened portal overlooking the fields and ponds, mountains and sky.
