A Weekend in Nanjing | A YEAR IN CHINA
Hello Beautiful People!
Here it is as promised! Our weekend in Nanjing! For Tom's 23rd birthday we decided to leave Shanghai and explore another part of China. Nanjing was so cool, I would love to go there again. We had an awesome time, on the first day we visited the Nanjing massacre museum where we learnt a lot about how the people of China suffered from the attacks by Japan. it was really really emotional there and I'd recommend everyone to visit if they get a chance! So beautifully laid out. We also visited the massive park and took a boat out on the lake, by far my favourite thing about the entire weekend. On the last day we spent the entire day on Zhongshan mountain where we explored tombs and beautiful gardens. It was awesome.
Any other questions please feel free to leave them in the comments or get hold of me via social media :)

China's Dark Matter Satellite Concludes In-Orbit Testing
China's first dark matter detection satellite has completed three months of in-orbit testing, with initial findings expected to appear before the end of the year, according to the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
Dark Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) Satellite Wukong detected 460 million high energy particles in a 92-day flight, sending about 2.4 TB of raw data back to Earth, DAMPE chief scientist Chang Jin said.
Launched on December. 17, 2015 on a Long March 2-D rocket, Wukong was handed over to the CAS Purple Mountain Observatory on Thursday.
The four major parts of the payload -- a plastic scintillator array detector, a silicon array detector, a BGO calorimeter, and a neutron detector -- functioned satisfactorily. The satellite completed all set tests, with all its technical indicators reaching or exceeding expectations.
Wukong is designed for a three-year mission. It will scan space nonstop in all directions in the first two years and then focus on areas where dark matter is most likely to be observed in the third.
The whole in-orbit operation is running stable. The data it sends will be more precise with the increasing observation time. We are expecting to publish related scientific gains by the end of 2016, said Li Huawang, chief designer of the DAMPE system.
The CAS released a report on the future of space science promising major progress and breakthroughs by 2030 in research into the formation and evolution of the universe and the search for extraterrestrial life.
It will also strive to find new physical laws that supplant current basic theories.
The goals will be achieved by manned and unmanned programs, including a black hole probe, a Mars probe and extraterrestrial life exploration.
Chinese lawmakers on Wednesday approved the country's economic and social development blueprint for the 2016-2020 period, including research on the origins of the universe and life.

4k Amazing Nanjing by drone | Aerial photography | China by drone
Nanjing, capital of China’s eastern Jiangsu province, is roughly 300km up the Yangtze River from the city of Shanghai. It was the national capital during part of the Ming dynasty. Many monuments and landmarks remain, including Zhonghua Gate (Gate of China), a preserved 14th-century section of the massive wall that contained the old city’s southern entrance. In addition to historical sights, memorials, museums and cultural sights also attract thousands of visitors. The famous Confucius Temple (Fuzimiao) is not only a memorial place for the Great Sage but has a surrounding area bustling with shops, restaurants and a snack street housed in traditional architectural buildings. The nearby Imperial Examination Museum of China (Jiangnan Examination Hall) and Former Residence of the Wang and Xie Families have seen their best days in ancient times. In the city center, Nanjing Museum is a must for visitors with a collection of more than 420 thousand pieces, including about 2,000 that are rare and valued. The Zijinshan Observatory (Purple Mountain Observatory) to the east of the city center was the first modern observatory built in China. Qinhuai River, in the southwest of the city, extends one hundred kilometers. The river used to be the most flourishing part of the city in the old days. In many Chinese novels, it is renowned as a place which nurtured beauties and romance. Today, it is a place for people to recall the old splendor of this historical city. Like all sights here, it tells the story of past, present and future of the city.
