The great pyramid of GIZA located in Cairo, Egypt is a magnificent tomb that was constructed to highlight the mages tic of Egyptian pharaoh. built in 2000 BC with 2 million limestone blocks weighing gigantic 200 tons for over 35 years with 25 - 350000 Egyptian workers.
the Egyptian pyramid are very sophisticated monument built over the year, in total there are around 115 pyramid in Egypt. however Giza and saqqara are the famous one to visit. in the premises you will visit 3 pyramid - the Pyramid of Menkaure, (small) the Pyramid of Khafre (medium) and the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Giza - largest)
learning about ancient Egyptian civilization in the entire 4th grade of history, Ever since then, visiting the Great Pyramids has been something on my bucket list, and I was lucky enough to ‘cross it off’ in November, and it was everything I hoped it would be.
i have listed down some good and bad point about the whole 2 - 3 days of experience in and around pyramids.
Tips:
1. Best time to visit the pyramid is around October - November - December - Jan. the pyramid is one of seven wonder of ancient world, suggested to see once in a lifetime.
2.The place is a full chaos filled up with tourist and hawkers, (as heard in the video.) if you want a peaceful visit, check in at around 7 - 7.30 am in morning - the pyramid ticket office open around 8 am. also to avoid hot sunny weather of Cairo.
3. Carry your essential - (hats, sunglasses, scarf, bottle and camera). worst part about all the tourist places across Egypt, is that you need to pay extra for digital camera and tripod / stand (price range - 50 -100 Egyptian dollar)
4. you need to have minimum 2 - 2.30 hrs in hand to cover all the pyramids and surrounding area and get yourself clicked on the pyramids.
5.The ground that the pyramids cover is pretty big, and walking from one pyramid to another isn’t exactly a short stroll. It also means that you could walk around the perimeter of just one pyramid and have a different experience by each face! or hire a private vehicle (most of the hotel provide cheaper transport in and around pyramid - uber has mixed response, most of ride get cancelled) so choose and plan wisely a day prior your visit.
6. there are secret chamber inside the medium and large pyramid which you can visit at extra costing. the secret chamber are usually narrow in height and width, and you need to literally bend yourself (in a semi squat) position to climb down and then up the ladder which make your visit to pyramid more adventurous. (Please note - camera inside is not allowed, but tip the security guard and you are on ur way inside )
7. Economy of the country is solely dependent on tourism, most of hawkers and seller will adamantly force you to buy, or force you to try them out, avoid if you are not interested to buy.
8. Evening 4 pm is ideal time to visit the great sphinx, facing west to all pyramid. the place also host sound and light show from 7 - 10 pm, a hr shows in 3 languages. 7 pm shows is always in English, depicting ancient Egyptian civilization. ticket cost around 22 USD.
although the experience of visiting pyramid and sphinx is a lifetime moment to capture.

CAIRO - Great Pyramids of Giza
So I flew from Easter Island to Chile Santiago, but I didn't film anything while I was there for two days! It felt like a student town, with a big University, lots of cheap hot dog stands on the street and students.
Quite a few homeless people living on the streets, and felt a little rough! So I didn't want to walk around with a camera in my hand in all honesty... Santiago was crazy expensive, one small side cafe charged me £10. for a thin pizza and can of coke.
I was going to fly to Guatemala, but the flight was ridiculously expensive, it was cheaper to fly home.
So I flew to Cairo instead because it was cheaper than staying in South America!

This is my slide-show of the Egyptian capital, Cairo and of course the Pyramids in neighbouring Giza.
I wondered around the suburb of Heliopolis passing many women dressed in black. I bought a bag of tomatoes from a woman selling fruit in the street and then traded the tomatoes for another photo at a fruit kiosk .
The wall murals (opposite Fairmont Hotel) are amazing. At first I assumed they were painted onto the wall but as I got closer I realised every detail was intricately carved into the wall. Crossing the road is very difficult and I had to walk for at least 5 minutes to the place were the 4 lanes branch of in different directions - leaving me with only one lane to cross

This film covers Cairo & its surrounds; including the Citadel, Souks, Mohammed Ali Mosque, The Pyramids of Giza, The Sphinx and the spectacular Pyramid Son et Lumiere show. We also visited the ancient capital of Memphis, Dahshur, and Sakkara, finishing in Alexandria.
Lower Egypt is the northern-most section of Egypt. It refers to the fertile Nile Delta region, which stretches from the area between Upper Egypt and the Mediterranean Sea — from El-Aiyat south of modern-day Cairo, and Zawyet Dahshur. Lower Egypt was known as Ta-Mehu which means land of papyrus. It was divided into twenty districts called nomes, the first of which was at el-Lisht. Because Lower Egypt was mostly undeveloped scrubland, undeveloped for human life and filled with all types of plant life such as grasses and herbs, the organization of the nomes underwent several changes.
The capital of Lower Egypt was Memphis. Its patron Goddess was the cobra goddess Wadjet. Lower Egypt was represented by the Low Red Crown Deshret, and its symbols were the papyrus and the bee.
