Qingdao Binhai College World taxidermy art gallery was founded in June 2004, formerly known as Qingdao Binhai College Museum. In order to highlight the characteristics of the Museum and fully reflect its functions such as education, teaching and scientific research, Qingdao Binhai College Museum in 2013 and was renamed the world taxidermy art gallery. The Museum is a collection of geological specimens, crafts, ceramics, carvings and other collections of integrated galleries.

황도에 위치한 야생 동물원이에요. 칭다오 시내 중산공원쪽에 있는 곳보다는 넓었지만 기대가 커서 그랬는지 생각보다는 별로였어요. 그래도 칭다오에 왔으면 한번은 가볼 만한 곳이었습니다. 산속에 위치하고 있어서 차가 있어야 갈 수 있어요. 차 타거나 없을경우 띠디, 택시타서 갈 수 있어요. 돌아오는 길 산속이라 띠디도 택시도 잘 안잡혀서(이날 또 국경절 기간이라 엄청 사람이 많았거든요) 나가는 차 픽업해서 차비 딜해서 왔는데..(저흰 사람이 많았긴 했지만 비추천합니다. 위험할 수 있어요) 교통이 좀 불편하니까 미리 이것저것 알아보고 가세요//
Qingdao Aquarium
The Qingdao Aquarium also known as the Qingdao Underwater World is the oldest public aquarium in China. It is located in the city of Qingdao, Shandong Province. The aquarium originated from an initiative launched by the educator Cai Yuanpei in 1930 and was first opened to the public on May 8, 1932. As of 2013, the aquarium consists of four main exhibition halls that are connected by tunnels and provides nearly 10,000 square meters of total exhibition area. The Qingdao Aquarium has been listed as a major historical and cultural sites protected by Shandong Province since 2006 (site number 3-267). It is located right on shore of the Yellow Sea's Huiquan Bay, next to the No. 1 Bathing Beach in the Shinan District of Qingdao. The aquarium, opening from 8:30 am to 5 pm, consists of the major aquarium, the sea animal performance museum, the museum of freshwater animals, and the herbarium of marine organisms.

Qingdao is a city steeped in China's 20th century history. It was taken as part of the Imperial German Concession of Jiaozhou Bay. Despite ongoing discussions with Chinese authorities about giving the Germans a territory, on 7 November 1897, they landed troops. Their pretext was the murder of two missionaries on 1 November of that year.
The concession treaty was signed on 6 March 1899, for a 99-year lease. The Germans acquired it as a relatively unimportant town of about 1,000 inhabitants. Yet by 1902, it had grown to 668 Caucasians and 15,000 Chinese.
During the colonial period, the Germans left a distinct mark on Qingdao's architecture that can still be seen in its historic center and train station. The train station has undergone a recent overhaul that has tried to strike a balance between maintaining its colonial heritage while modernizing to be the terminus of the high speed rail line to Beijing. Many German-period buildings have been preserved as heritage monuments. It is a kind of Bavaria-on-the-East-China-Sea, where they even sell Bratwurst on the street. In 1903, China's most well-known beer maker, Tsingtao brewery, was established by the new occupants homesick for Germany.

For part two of our trip in the coastal city of Qingdao, we pay a visit to two of the city's churches - St. Michael's Cathedral and the Protestant Church. We also drop by the old Governor's mansion, and we pay yet another visit to the incredibly crowded Chinese beach.

I have not uploaded anything since September 2009. This is an update about whats been going on with me as well as stating my opinions about Qingdao, China where I live now. Butterfly garden dazzles E China expo guests
A Brazilian butterfly garden at an ongoing horticultural expo being held in east China's city of Qingdao has attracted numerous visitors. Up to 12,000 butterflies are being displayed in the park, with some said to be very rare.
