How Our Politicians Are Abandoning the Middle Class and Betraying the American Dream
Arianna Huffington (née Stasinopoúlou; born Αριάδνη-Άννα Στασινοπούλου, July 15, 1950) is a Greek American author, syndicated columnist, and businesswoman.
Huffington was the co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post, which is now owned by AOL. She was a popular conservative commentator in the mid-1990s, after which, in the late-1990s, she offered liberal points of view in public, while remaining involved in business endeavors. In 2003, she ran as an independent candidate for governor in the California recall election and lost.[5] In 2009, Huffington was #12 in Forbes's first-ever list of the Most Influential Women In Media. She has also moved up to #42 in The Guardian's Top 100 in Media List. As of 2014, she is listed by Forbes as the 52nd Most Powerful Woman in the World.
In 2011, AOL acquired The Huffington Post for US$315 million, and made Huffington the President and Editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post Media Group, which included The Huffington Post and then-existing AOL properties including AOL Music, Engadget, Patch Media, and StyleList. On August 11, 2016, it was announced that she would step down from her role at The Huffington Post to devote her time to a new startup, Thrive Global, focused on health and wellness information.
Prior to The Huffington Post, Huffington hosted a website called AriannaOnline.com. Her first foray into the Internet was a website called Resignation.com, which called for the resignation of President Bill Clinton and was a rallying place for conservatives opposing Clinton. About Clinton resigning, she wrote, Only some act of sacrifice can begin to restore the image of the President that we are left with from the Starr report -- a man of staggering narcissism and self-indulgence, whom nobody dared gainsay, investing his energies first in gratifying his sexual greeds and then in using his staff, his friends, and the Secret Service to cover up the truth.[38]
In November 2008, Huffington joined the cast of Seth MacFarlane's animated series, The Cleveland Show, where she lends her voice to the wife of Tim the Bear, also named Arianna.[39]
Huffington was spoofed by actress Michaela Watkins and Nasim Pedrad on Saturday Night Live.[40]
Huffington appeared as herself in the May 10, 2010, episode of the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
Huffington participated in the 24th annual Distinguished Speaker Series at the University at Buffalo, NY, on September 16, 2010. She headlined a debate against radio co-host Mary Matalin on current world events, political issues, and the local Buffalo economy. The University at Buffalo Distinguished Speaker Series has featured a multitude of world-renowned politicians and celebrities such as; Tony Blair, Bill Nye, Jon Stewart, and the Dalai Lama.[41]
Huffington offered to provide as many buses as necessary to transport those who wanted to go to Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear on October 30, 2010, from The Huffington Post headquarters in New York City.[42] Ultimately, she paid for 150 buses to ferry almost 10,000 people from Citi Field in Queens to RFK Stadium in DC.
Huffington played herself in the Family Guy episode Brian Writes a Bestseller along with Dana Gould and Bill Maher in a live segment of Real Time with Bill Maher.
In 2012, Huffington became a LinkedIn Influencer, writing about success and sharing professional insights.

Odiorne Point June 15th 2014
To celebrate Father’s Day, I asked my daughter and wife to join me on a hike at Odiorne Point, located in Rye, New Hampshire.
I do love hiking and, in particular, beach and shore hikes by oceans. My only problem is the fact that not many shore line hikes exist in New Hampshire.

Niagra Falls Video Collection Canadian region of Ontario and the U.S. state of New York
Niagara Falls (Cayuga: Gahnawehtaˀ or Tgahnawęhta is the group name for three waterfalls that straddle the global outskirt between the Canadian region of Ontario and the U.S. state of New York. They structure the southern finish of the Niagara Gorge.
From greatest to littlest, the three waterfalls are the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls. The Horseshoe Falls lie on the Canadian side and the American Falls on the American side, split by Goat Island. The more modest Bridal Veil Falls are likewise spotted on the American side, split from the other waterfalls by Luna Island. The universal verge line was basically drawn by way of Horseshoe Falls in 1819, however the limit has in length been in debate because of common disintegration and construction.
Found on the Niagara River, which empties Lake Erie into Lake Ontario, the joined falls shape the most noteworthy flood rate of any waterfall in the planet, with a vertical drop of more than 165 feet (50 m). Horseshoe Falls is the most compelling waterfall in North America, as measured by vertical stature and likewise by rush rate. The falls are spotted 17 miles (27 km) north-northwest of Buffalo, New York and 75 miles (121 km) south-southeast of Toronto, between the twin urban communities of Niagara Falls, Ontario, and Niagara Falls, New York.
Niagara Falls were structured when ice sheets subsided at the closure of the Wisconsin glaciation (the final ice age), and water from the recently framed Great Lakes cut a way by way of the Niagara Escarpment on the way to the Atlantic Ocean. While not uncommonly heightened, the Niagara Falls are exceptionally wide. More than six million cubic feet (168,000 m3) of water falls over the peak line each moment in elevated flow,[4] and very nearly four million cubic feet (110,000 m3) on normal.
The Niagara Falls are eminent both for their magnificence and as an important source of hydroelectric force. Maintaining the offset between recreational, business, and mechanical utilization has been a test for the stewards of the falls since the 19th century.

C&O Canal vs. B&O RR: Railroads of America 3
The Chesapeake & Ohio Canal and the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad both broke ground on July 4, 1828. Which one would reach the Ohio River first?
Why the rush? After the completion of the Erie Canal across New York in 1825, the cost of moving freight from Buffalo to Albany dropped by an order of magnitude from wagons pulled by oxen on primitive roads. Every major city on the east coast looked to building their own canals to avoid losing the interior trade from the Ohio River valley and the Great Lakes.
Washington could send a canal west along the Potomac River.
Baltimore had no good route for a canal, so they decided to try a railroad. Canals were a proven technology, while railroads were still experimental. But the barrier of the Allegheny Mountains would put any technology to the test. The future economic prosperity of Washington and Baltimore depended on the success of their respective ventures.

Over Wyoming
WyomingPBS takes cameras aloft to explore the sweeping beauty of the Cowboy State and finds etched on the land, history as vast as its horizons and human stories as intricate as its streams. Narrated by Pete Simpson.
The accents of the 5 boroughs of NYC -- a how to by a native -- the real deal!
A tongue-in-cheek demo of New York City's varied accents by each borough: The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Manhattan. I explain not only how to make the sounds but more importantly, the psychological reason behind them - sorta : ). Voiced my me, a NYC native - this is the real deal folks!
Ratings appreciated.
p.s. I know it s/b you're not your & that the map of Brooklyn is too small (on the left) but it was too late to fix.
I did not attempt African American/Latino accents as I can't do them justice. Thanks for watching.

Greg Estren: The History of 111 Eighth Ave | Talks at Google
Google employee Greg Estren dives into the forgotten history of the largest New York City building no one even knows: 111 Eighth Avenue, a 16-story structure bigger than the Empire State Building and Google’s NYC headquarters.
But this isn’t just another office building. It was a core piece of the bold plan that would reshape the region’s transportation network, rein in America’s railroad tycoons, create the Port Authority, and save New York.
This is its story.
