Britain's 10 most Scenic Rail Journeys
Please watch: The abandoned Eurostar

A generation ago, Britain's railways were almost consigned to history when Dr Beeching's cuts closed thousands of stations and lines across the country. But some gems survived, and now rail travel grows more popular by the day.
Adventurin' Across the UK in 10 Days — UK by Rail | The Travel Intern
We had SUCH A BLAST exploring the UK — we visited Edinburgh in Scotland, explored the areas Bangor, Caernarfon, Snowdonia National Park in Wales, and the beautiful city of London with day trips out. The BritRail pass was actually a real blessing. We only wished we had more time to spend in this beautiful land.
Check out our recommended 10D itinerary here:
Hear our honest reflections about our UK trip towards the end of the video!
LONDON
00:22 - Trafalgar Square
00:24 - London Eye
As with every trip to London, it wouldn’t be complete without visiting Trafalgar Square and seeing beautiful landmarks like the London Eye, Big Ben (it was under construction when we were there!), Tower Bridge, etc.
00:25 - St Paul’s Cathedral
We highly highly highly recommend getting to the top of the dome (via stairs within the cathedral, of course). It gives you BEAUTIFUL views of the city and it’s pretty cool up there, literally and figuratively :-)
00:28 - Tower Bridge
No, this is not the London Bridge that we sang nursery rhymes about in school. Haha. Check the timings to see when the bridge will be lifted to allow certain vessels to pass!
00:35 - Warner Bros. Studio Tour London
‘Nuff said. Potterheads and non-potterheads alike, please please please go for this. We can’t stress this enough.
00:50 - F Cooke
Try one of London’s oldest living fast foods here! Warning: Jellied eels might not appeal to everyone’s tastebuds, but Sherry did enjoy it. Can’t say the same for Travis though. Tip: The chilli/spicy sauce they provide is pretty amaze~
00:57 - Patty&Bun
Worth getting your hands covered with sauce. Trust. Probably one of the best burgers we’ve had!
01:02 - Borough Market
Hash, Soulfood, Monmouth Coffee
The food haven, really. We picked out Hash, Soulfood and Monmouth Coffee because these really really stood out to us. Super duper yummy!!
01:16 - Camden Market
Vintage lovers would LOVE this place. Especially over the weekend! We weren’t really vintage lovers, but we also enjoyed exploring this market. The food was also amazing. Tip: The grilled cheese sandwich is the BOMB!!!!!! There was only one store serving grilled cheese, and the smell is really strong, so…. It should be easy to spot.
DAY TRIP OUT OF LONDON
01:25 - Windsor Castle
We were there when the royal baby was born! It was especially cool because the vibes were amazing, and people were in such high spirits!
Nevertheless, the Windsor Castle is the world’s biggest and oldest occupied castle. Maybe you could catch a peek of the Queen when you visit!
01:33 - Roman Baths
Visit the ancient Roman baths in… well, Bath. The place is one of the world’s best-preserved religious spas. Get to try a sip of spring water from the springs there too! Again, warning: Might not appeal to everyone’s tastebuds. Interesting though!
01:42 - Stonehenge
How could we not visit the Stonehenge when we’re in UK?? Quite a magical and mystical experience, we have to say.
WALES
01:55 - Snowdonia National Park
We took the Snowdon mountain railway up! In the winter, it doesn’t go to the peak (Llanberis) though. The peak is actually the highest point in Wales! We really enjoyed the hike down too.
02:18 - Ainsworth’s
Super yummy fish&chips are served here. Be sure to try their specialty, mushy peas too! Great meal :-)
02:26 - Caernarfon Castle
Explore the castle and outside of it too! In the evenings, the streets outside the castle have lots of people chilling and having drinks by the river.
EDINBURGH
02:39 - Arthur’s Seat
Hike up to the highest point in Edinburgh! It gets SUPER windy up there, to the point that both of us couldn’t stand straight without holding onto a rock or each other for support. Be dressed appropriately!
02:50 - Edinburgh Castle
Visit some of Scotland’s oldest buildings that are still in this castle!
03:01 - Papii Cafe
Strawberry? Yup. Bacon? Yup. Strawberry and bacon??? WOT?? We had this reaction too. But this place was highly recommended by a friend, and so we decided to give it a try. Omg, the two complemented each other so well atop fluffy, yummy buttermilk waffles! It gets pretty crowded during breakfast, so do come early or try to avoid peak hours.
03:05 - Oink
We chanced upon this little eatery while exploring the streets of Edinburgh. They serve pulled pork roast rolls and the portions are SO generous! We were so stuffed!
03:11 - Calton Hill
We recommend catching the sunset here for gorgeous views of the city!

UK Rail Tours - Great Ocean Liners Tour - London Victoria - Eastleigh - Class 68 Diesel 23/7/17

INTERCITY EXPRESS TRAIN! London Paddington to Cardiff Central Great Western Railway Trip Report
Hey guys this is a new trip report from myself. This is a trip report onboard one of Great Western Railways new class 800 Intercity Express Train.
I was traveling from London Paddington which is the terminus for the Great Western Main Line and was traveling to Cardiff Central the capital city of wales. My journey takes 2 hours and 8 minutes.
My thoughts on the new trains are that they are very well built to the touch and this can be seen from the design being very streamline and modern. The interior is well designed and it is interesting that it has been designed so that the quiet coach does not have an engine underneath it meaning it is a real quiet coach. The seats were firm however I didn’t realise this after about 50 seconds of being on these trains. All and all an excellent train built by hitachi well done
The Journey it self was very pleasent and the first class lounge at London Paddington was spectacular. Food on the train didn’t have a wide variety however the train journey was under 3 hours so it was a substantial amount.
I very much recommend traveling on these new trains in first class as it was worth the amount of money that I paid for my ticket.
Hope you enjoy the video and leave your thoughts In the comment section and if your new to the channel and you like what you see please subscribe as much more content to come.

LNER London North Eastern Railway First-Class Train Journey Reviews 2019: Leeds / London / Edinburgh
Reviews of four First Class train journeys on LNER trains in May and June, 2019.
I've just added a new film to my Railways: British Railways playlist, here: of four first class train journeys on LNER trains.
The journeys are as follows: Leeds to London Kings Cross on an Intercity 225 morning breakfast service; London Kings Cross to Leeds on an Azuma evening dinner service; Leeds to Edinburgh on an Intercity 125 morning breakfast service; Edinburgh to York on an Intercity 225 evening dinner service.
The film shows the seating, carriage layout, menus, food, drinks, announcements, and scenery along the way.
LNER First Class is probably the best first class of any British train operating company. Both breakfast and evening services have good quality food offerings and the evening services also have complimentary alcoholic drinks. The quality of the service did differ though, I found the breakfast service from Leeds to Edinburgh to be better than the breakfast service from Leeds to London. The evening service from London to Leeds was better than the evening service from Edinburgh to York. There were inconsistencies including missing dessert, toast and a menu.
Out of the three types of train I travelled on, I preferred the Intercity 225 in terms of journey comfort. The seats on this train and the Intercity 125 were extremely comfortable. The seats on the Azuma were less comfortable, and whilst the Azuma does give a very smooth ride, my back was aching after a journey from London to Leeds. The Intercity 225 was a smooth journey also, but the Intercity 125 had more movement and less good stabilisation in the carriage. There were also excessive vibrations on the Intercity 125 when another passed in the opposite direction.
The Azuma will eventually replace all other trains operated by LNER, I do hope that the seats on these trains will eventually be upgraded to the types of seats on the older Intercity trains. The Azuma service was excellent.

Thanks for finding my video and pressing play!
Now, a lot of my subscribers told me they really wanted to see a video on Eurostar. So that’s exactly what I went and made.
I hadn’t actually been on Eurostar since around 2012, so this was a welcome return. As a kid I remember quite vividly the opening of the Channel Tunnel and the start of Eurostar service. It seemed glamorous in a way that perhaps has faded a bit, as we’ve become used to being able to easily access Europe by train.
Our journey takes us, on a classic Class 373 train, east from St Pancras and straight down into Kent on High Speed 1, Britain’s first proper dedicated high speed railway. We stop briefly at Ebbsfleet International before continuing in a straight line directly towards the tunnel at Folkestone, blasting through Ashford International without stopping. After 31 miles of tunnel we pop out near Sangatte and Calais-Fréthun, and head, via Lille, to Paris.
Sadly, the weather was rather grey in both Britain and France for this video! But you can’t have it all.
Eurostar trains have 18 carriages with three classes of travel. 10 carriages are Standard Class, 5 are Standard Premier (what you might call a hybrid between Standard and First Class), and there’s one Business Premier carriage, where hot meals are served, and customers get flexibility and lounge access. Business Premier is really directed at the corporate traveller, and Standard Premier is probably as much as you’ll need for a good trip.
The surroundings are comfortable and the ride smooth despite the age of the train. My only complaint - a weak meal service. The portion sizes are very small and the quality hit and miss. My fruit salad was not fresh, which is very disappointing. This isn’t hard to get right when you’re loading food in the middle of London.
Anyways, sit back and watch the journey, and let me and the train take the strain... ????????????????
Make sure you have your notifications set! ????
Enjoy the report.
