Hiking to Rainbow Falls - Great Smoky Mountains - Feb 2018
Rainbow Falls is a moderate 5.4 mile round trip hike located just outside Gatlinburg off of the Roaring Fork Motor Trail. Although there are almost constant reminders of the fire from 2016 throughout the hike the park has done a great job restoring the trail. Overall, I really enjoyed this trail and the reward of seeing Rainbow Falls was well worth the uphill hike!

In the Great Smoky Mountains National Park I really liked hiking this rugged trail that is near Rainbow Falls. Lots of streams and waterfalls here all sizes small and large. The elevation is high I went from 2100 ft to 4600 ft on this hike. Here is the site for more info on this area:
Enjoying the Trails in The Smoky Mountains (Rainbow Falls)
This trail is in The Smoky Mountains National Park is near Rainbow Falls. I hiked this trail to the falls but along the way are beautiful ravines and raging streams. The trail is strenuous and rugged. It was nice to climb this mountain and take in the views.
My Daughter’s FIRST EVER Hike » RAINBOW FALLS Great Smoky Mountains
My daughter did her first ever hike on Rainbow Falls trail in the Great Smoky Mountains national Park. We hiked out to Rainbow Falls which is the largest single fall in the park. We hiked a total of 6.2 miles and she even saw deer on the trail for her first hike. It was a great day hike!

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, short hike up the trail to see Laurel Falls. It's an easy trail, being just 2.3 miles round trip with a 314 foot elevation gain, so almost anyone can handle it. Laurel Falls is definitely worth seeing, so if you get the chance ... do it!

Join us as we hike to the Cataract Falls in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, USA. The hike starts at the Sugarland Visitor Center and ends at the beautiful Cataract Falls. It is a short and easy hike that young kids can do.
We used our GoPro Fusion 360 Camera and edited it down using overcapture and Adobe Premiere to make a traditional video.

Hike to Rainbow Falls in Smoky Mountains
It took us 75 minutes to hike up to the falls and 60 minutes to hike back. The two boys are 8 and 12 years old and they didn't have any trouble completing the hike. Here is a link to the elevation gain/loss for the trail

While visiting The Great Smoky Mountains National Park I got to hike The Rainbow Falls Trail. Along the way up to Rainbow Falls I crossed many streams and footbridges. Rainbow Falls drop 80' down a vertical rock face along Le Conte Creek. This tall, light flow cascade disperses water as it nears the ground, which creates rainbows in its mist when lit just right. The hike to Rainbow Falls is relatively short but demanding, a rocky trail that gains 1,550' in just 2.3 miles.
