Rani Rupmati Masjid Ahmedabad Gujarat Documentary film on Heritage Monument.
Rani Rupmati Mosque located at mirzapur ahmedabad the mosque was named after Rani rupmati, the hindu wife of Sultan Qutbuddin (1451-1458), after Qutbuddin dead Rani rupmati married Sultan Mahmud Begadha (1458-1511), the mosque build by Sultan Mahmud Begadha in 1510 A.D........
This mosque measures, 105 feet long, forty-six broad, and thirty-two high. A high central arch, three imposing domes, slim minarets, carved galleries and an exquisite mihrab are there. Its three domes are linked together by a flat roof. The side entrances in the mosque open out in balcony windows on either side and end in a lattice window. The domes are supported with rows of twelve pillars each where as the smaller domes at the front and the rear of the bigger domes as well as the four corners of the mosque are there. The central section is an elevated level that rises above the small flanks and provides for a pierced clerestory, which carries the dome above. Though broken short in the 1819 Rann of Kutch earthquake, the bases of their minarets, from the fine tracery in their niches, are still the mosque's chief beauty. This is one of the buildings where the attempt to combine the arched Islamic and the flat Hindu styles was hardly a success; the plainness of the central arch clashes with the extreme richness of the upper cornice and the side minarets. Close by the mosque is a monument, with a large central and two side domes, raised over the tombs of Rani Rupamati and the other queen. The inside of the dome is richly fretted..

Rani Sipri's Masjid (Queen Sipri's Mosque) Ahmedabad Gujarat Heritage Stone Mosque Shahi Pattharwali
Located close to the Astodiya Gate, this structure is among the most notable edifices in Ahmadabad. The style – the prevalent mode of the early sixteenth century AD – is apparent in the open façade of the sanctuary, in the continuous eaves-board, equal heighten cornice and crenellated corona over it, and the slender minarets in four sections (three above roof level), and, above all, in the ornate embellishments in stone tracery windows in the mosque and tomb. The inscription over the central mihrab states that the mosque was built in AH 920 (AD 1514) during the reign of Sultan Muzaffar II by Rani Sa’brai, mother of Prince Abu Bakr Khan, son of Sultan Mahmud Begada. It is also confirmed by Mirat-i-Sikandari. This Abu Bakr was poisoned, at the behest of King Mahmud, for having been found guilty of trespass into a private house.
This small Masjid, measuring hardly 14.63 meters by 6.10 meters on the floor is only two bays deep and has a row of coupled pillars in front. A feature of the plan of the mosque, namely the arrangement is in harmony with that of the pillars of the tomb closely in front of it, as already noticed also in the case of Sayyid ‘Uthman’s mosque and Dargah where they are more separated. In the back wall two trellis-worked windows are found while a large window and a door are found on the northern wall. The south wall, however, ahs only two balcony windows with projecting sills, carved with minute care.
There is no mimbar or the pulpit in front of it in the sanctuary. The rear minar buttresses are in the style of Muhafiz Khan’s Masjid. No arch is employed anywhere in the structure, (except in the side door-way) and Fergusson who called it as ‘one of the most exquisite buildings in the world’, also added that ‘it is also the most perfectly Hindu of the buildings of the city’.
The rauda is situated about 8.23 meters away in front of the mosque, with a small stepped approach to it and door on the south and west, with the mouldings on the steps in Hindu style. The tomb chamber is a square of twenty columns, enclosing another of twelve. The inner square measures 5.79 meters on the inside and is raised to a height of 10.36 meters and the moulded courses carry carvings in geometrical patterns. The height from outside the tomb is, however, upwards of 13.11 meters with a partition wall running all rounds, supporting in the upper sections a perforated stone screen casing, 1.68 meters around the entire tomb. Many of the screen sections which had suffered damage had been restored. The main grave of the queen was originally encased in marble, but is now done in plaster.
Only the inner tomb area is raised to an additional storey, while carved merlons run on the lower storey all around with four small corner domes. The raised central chamber, however, is not pierced as seen from outside and this to some extent detracts from its elegance.

Jama Masjid, Tomb of Sultan Ahmad Shah I and Rani's Hajira in Ahmedabad
Shahi Jama Masjid or Jumma Mosque, is the most splendid mosque of Ahmedabad, built in 1424 during the reign of Ahmed Shah I. Lying in the old party of walled city, the mosque is situated within Bhadra Fort area, on the eastern side of Teen Darwaza.
The Jama Masjid of Ahmedabad was probably the largest mosque in the Indian subcontinent built in this period. Designed as part of a major plan desired by the Emperor Sultan Ahmed Shah, the mosque is located south of the processional axis that runs from the Maidan-i Shah at the door with three arches, Teen Darwaza.
Ahmed Shah's Tomb, locally known as Badshah no Hajiro or Raja no Hajiro (King's Mausoleum), is a medieval mosque and the group of tombs in Ahmedabad, India. Within Bhadra Fort area and near Manek Chowk, Ahmed Shah's mosque is situated.
The mosque have the tomb of Ahmed Shah I, the founder of Ahmedabad in centre. It was completed by his son Muhhamad Shah who reined from 1442 to 1451, in 1414 who is buried left to him. His grandson Qut ud-Din Shah (1451–1458) is buried on right to him. The tombs of his other grandsons Jalal Khan and Sultan Ahmad II are also there. The tomb of Ahmed Shah's brother is outside of main chamber. On Ahmed Shah's tomb, Muslims and Hindus still lay flowers and other offerings.
The mosque has the main square building with large central dome. There are four chambers at all four corners with smaller domes. The tombs are in centre. The light enters through perforated stone windows (jaali) on walls of the mosque.
Rani-ka-Hazira, also known as the Tomb of the Queens, lies near Jami Mosque in Ahmedabad. The enclosure where the tombs stand is high above the surrounding streets. The galleries are screened by beautifully wrought stone jails (perforated Stones). The Tomb of the Queens is covered by brilliantly colored pieces of brocade. The carvings on the tombs are also noteworthy.

The Jami Masjid Mosque (Ahmedabad - Gujarat - India)
(EN) The Jami Masjid of Ahmedabad is one of the biggest and oldest mosques of India, built by a Bahmani ruler Ahmed Shah I (1411-1442), the founder of Ahmedabad, in 1423. One of the major tourist attractions of Gujarat, Jami Masjid is known for its fine and amazing architecture. The Mosque has a total of 260 pillars supporting 15 domes at different elevations. The Jami Masjid also had tall minarets, which were destroyed in an earthquake.
Centered on a spacious 75 x 66 meters marble courtyard with entrances on three sides - west, south and north, the Jami Mosque is regarded as one of the most superb and imposing structures of its class in the world. The architecture of the Jami Mosque shows distinctive Hindu and Jain influence, clearly visible on the decorations of walls and the niches of the mosque. One of the distinct features of this Mosque is its royal gallery with beautiful and intricate stonework. There is also a long rectangular ablution tank in the center. The prayer hall of the mosque is a rectangular area with five symmetrical domes. The central Mihrab (position indicating the direction of the Holy Mecca) of the mosque has inscriptions commemorating its completion on January 4, 1424, by Sultan Ahmad Shah I. (Tourism of Gujarat)
