Kanjeta is a fully developed campsite situated inside the Ratanmahal Sloth Bear Sanctuary in the Dahod district of Central Gujarat. Like all the other eco campsite, this campsite is also surrounded by a rich variety of diverse flora and fauna. The main attraction is the sloth bear but the area also harbours other species like panthers, jungle cats, civets, jackals, hyenas, honey badgers, foxes, porcupines etc. It also boasts of a variety of fauna like treepies, white bellied drongos, racket tailed drongos, paradise fly catcher, black headed oriole, etc and a variety of reptiles.

If u love riding in nature then this place for you. U can spend whole day and and a night at this place.
Its just 137 km from baroda and the road condition is very good. On bike we took around 2 hours to reach there. Must visit place who likes to stay at tents in jungle.

टीक, दुधलो, सपद, टाइमर, बांस, ढाडो, काकडीयो, तांडव, तोड़, बेर, जामुन खाखड़े आदि पौधों की कुल 543 प्रजातियों का पता चला है (पेड़ों की 119 प्रजातियां, झाड़ियों की 40 प्रजातियां, घाटियां की 48 प्रजातियां, 87 जातियां, अध्येनियां की 2 प्रजातियां, 2 प्रजातियां आड़ी-परजीवी और 9 प्रजातियां)।
This sanctuary harbours maximum population of sloth bears in the entire state, which is the star attraction in the wilds of Ratanmahals. The sanctuary falls in the Dahod district of Central Gujarat and is located very close to the tribal towns, Baria of Dahod district and Chhota Udepur of Vadodara district. This area was declared as a wildlife sanctuary in March 1982. The sanctuary falls on the border of Gujarat with Madhya Pradesh. The actual habitat of the Sloth bear, therefore, extends into Madhya Pradesh. The pristine beauty of forests in this small tract with rugged topography gives the feel of a hill station to wildlife enthusiasts.

Daroji bear sanctuary
The unique Sloth Bear sanctuary is situated very close to this heritage site. Situated only 15 kilometers from Hampi, Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary is the only sanctuary in North Karnataka.
Though the sanctuary is relatively new, which began in 1994 in the eastern plains of Karnataka, it has proved to be a suitable habitat for the Indian Sloth Bears in a span of few years.
The rock-strewn hillocks that stretch between Daroji of Sandur taluk and Ramasagar of Hospet Taluk in Bellary district have been the abode of Indian Sloth Bears since ages. In October 1994, the Government of Karnataka declared 5,587.30 hectares of Bilikallu reserve forest as Daroji Bear Sanctuary.
Geographically, it is located between 15o 14′ to 15o 17′ N latitude and 76o 31′ to 76o 40′ E longitude.

Sunday Ride to Jessore Sloth Bear Sanctuary. This ride is all about our experience of Jessore Sloth Bear Sanctuary. I along with Satyajit & Robin took this adventurous journey. It was an awesome experience, Getting close to nature, away from the city life, trekking in the forest of Jessore. The Main Highlight was to Find Lunch after 2 hours of Trek and 30 kms of ride to Abu Road from Jessore.

Jessore Sloth Bear Sanctuary is situated in the Banaskantha district formerly under Palanpur State in the Indian state of Gujarat at the Gujarat-Rajasthan border. It was declared as a sanctuary in May 1978, covering an area of about 180 square kilometers (69 sq mi).
The name sloth is said to be the epithet travelers and hunters in India gave to the bear when they saw it hanging upside down from branches of trees and consequently they identified it with sloth, an animal that hangs upside down. While it is now known as sloth bear, initially it was called bear sloth since the game hunters identified this species with the sloth of South America as the physical characteristics and arboreal habits of both species matched. Towards the later part of the 18th century, its scientific name was Ursine bradypus, Ursiform sloth or Bradypus ursinus. But when in the early 19th century, a sloth bear, housed in a zoo in France, was examined, scientists identified it correctly as a bear species and thereafter the name was changed from bear sloth to sloth bear. Jessore hill, which is the back drop to the sanctuary, is also prefixed to form the full name Jessore Sloth Bear Sanctuary.
Apart from sloth bear, other fauna reported in the sanctuary are leopard, sambar, blue bull, wild boar, porcupine, and a variety of birds.[citation needed] Other endangered species harbored by the sanctuary are jungle cat, civet, caracal, wolf and hyena.
The faunal study by UNDP covered the herpetofaunal group. 14 species of amphibians and reptiles have been recorded here; the list includes Indian python (Python molurus) an endangered species, Indian flap-shelled turtle (Lissemys punctata) of vulnerable category and muggar (Crocodylus palustris) and Varanus (Varanus bengalensis) of endangered category. Threats faced by these species have been noted as water shortage, traffic, and hunting by snake charmers.
Reptiles found also include cobra, krait, several types of viper and monitor lizard
