The reservoir’s capacity is 4 million acre feet, and is the largest lake wholly within the state of Texas. Very famous for catching record sizes of Largemouth bass, Crappie, Catfish, White bass.

Pipeline Fire on River Ridge Road in Jasper, TX.
This video shows the scorched forest remaining from the Pipeline Fire in Jasper,TX on River Ridge Road off Hwy 63. The fire was started by thrillseekers shooting a propane cylinder (which causes a tremendous explosion) on the pipeline while a Burn Ban was in effect. Reportedly an ice chest of beer rumored to have a name on it was left and recovered for evidence along with the cylinder. Also rumored was that a 911 call was made before or during the leaving of the area. The video shows a clay pigeon thrower left standing on the pipeline along with various other debris.
Several camps were destroyed in the Hog Creek Hunting Club and Supposedly a Dozer used in firefighting remains on the pipeline for fear of an explosion if it is removed. The River Ridge Community on the Angelina River was spared by a short distance thanks to wind direction as the fire continued toward HWY 255 and ended up burning around 4,500 acres.
