Vintage Model Trains at the Christmas Display at the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum
Today, My Dad and I visited the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum in Hamburg, Pennsylvania and their Christmas Model Train Display.
I took video of the displays that were there. In the beginning of this video, you will see O Gauge train running on a layout at fast speeds. Then you will see Post-War O Gauge and S Gauge trains running on the same display platform. After that, you will see Tinplate Trains (both Standard Gauge and O Gauge) running together at the same time. Finally, you'll see me playing with a telegraph.
Also at the end of the video, you will see a slideshow of the many exhibits and artifacts that are on display at the museum. Enjoy.

Reading Returns! To the Perkiomen Railroad
In October of 2009, the Upper Perkiomen Chamber of Commerce hosted another series of train excursions over the old Perkiomen Branch of the Reading Railroad. Much like the previous year, this year consisted of the ex-Reading FP7A Diesel Locomotives #902 & #903. They will be pulling a quartet of passenger cars, a boxcar, and on the north end, will be East Penn Railroad's ex-Conrail GP10 #7554 (nee-NYC GP9). This video compiles of a few shots from the entire weekends, some from Saturday and a few from Sunday. If you're a fan of beautiful scenery, the Reading Railroad, or Covered Wagon diesel locomotives, then this is the video-preview for you!
The full-length feature video will be for sale this June. Stay tuned for further details.

Conrail, PPLX Coal Train on Reading Company Technical and Historical Society HO Layout
A Conrail powered coal train, owned by the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company passes through the town of Fleetwood, Pennsylvania, with 2 SD45-2s and an SD45, 2 of which are still lettered for 2 of Conrail's predecessors. This video was taken on the Reading Company, Technical and Historical Society's excellent HO Scale Modular Railroad. The club, based out of Hamburg, PA, preserves the history and artifacts of the Reading Railroad. The modular layout was begun in 1983 as a traveling publicity tool, and continues to grown (now nearly 150' long!). This particular video was shot during the Pennsylvania Christmas Show in Harrisburg, PA on 12/4/2011. The show in Harrisburg is the show in which members can run anything they want, instead of Reading, or Reading related models that are ran during the other events the layout goes to during the year. I chose to bring out my Early Conrail equipment for the show.
