I have gone through speech therapy my entire life. I have also been teased about a speech impediment my entire life. No one could convince me to open up and really work on my voice, until I met Amy. Colourful Nashville
What a wonderful, colourful and fun city. No one was really sure of what Nashville would hold and we discovered Broadway the main street, with all the bands playing music with open windows, completing for patrons and the bars are serving drinks from around 10:00am.
We did the Bus Tour to get our bearings around town but it is very wet and cold so there are no photos worth publishing, we saw Music Row where the recording companies are, and this would be well worth another visit on a dry day.
Prebooked tickets to the Grand Ole Opry in the Ryman Theatre, it was a great fun and entertaining show.

A NOTE FROM JAMES ABOUT THE SONG:
Last year, when I released the studio version of this song, I told y'all that Papaw (my Grandpa) always had little trucks that he drove around that were in really bad shape. No doubt, they were a danger to himself and everyone else that was on the road! When my dad and I's good friend, Dave (down in Waynesboro, TN), heard this song, he invited us to come for a ride in his dad's old truck, that now belongs to him. This little Toyota has just about everything in it that the song talks about - down to the rebar and five-gallon bucket. The police told Dave that he can no longer drive this truck into town, but we had a fantastic afternoon just tootling around the countryside and watching his Cur Feist dog, Dude, chase us around. THAT dog would follow THAT truck through the gates of hell! So here it is again, an ode to the undersized and busted-up underdogs that slay giants with their relentless fight. - James
ABOUT JAMES CAROTHERS:
Nashville honky-tonk crooner, James Carothers, is known best for his stone-country originals and spot-on impressions of several of country music's greatest icons.
James released a new album called Songs and Stories on November 22, 2019. Previous releases include Still Country, Still King: A Tribute to George Jones (September 2018), his first full-length original album Relapse (May 2017), and an EP Honky Tonk Land (June 2014).
In 2015, James left a technician job at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico and returned to his native state of Tennessee to pursue a country music career. George Jones' own widow, Nancy, personally hired James for his first steady gig at the George Jones Museum in Nashville, allowing him to make a living playing music and to hone his hobby-turned-profession in an accelerated fashion. Since then, James has played several shows each week in downtown Nashville at places like The George Jones and AJ's Good Time Bar when he's not on the road, having played over 1500 public, corporate, and private events since January 2015.
In addition to supporting his young family and connecting with other musicians and songwriters, performing downtown has helped James build a large fan base of folks drawn through the doors by the booming voice echoing down Broadway and 2nd Avenue. Playing so many shows in a relatively short time-frame in a city with an excess of raw talent forced him to sharpen his stage show quickly and continue to refine the thing he's always enjoyed most — entertaining and interacting with his audiences in a way that leaves most people feeling like they've made a new friend.
James was the 2018 WSM Road Show Winner, resulting in the opportunity to make his Grand Ole Opry debut opening for Alan Jackson at the Ryman Auditorium on January 17, 2020. He was also selected by Jackson from the crop of rising artists who play at AJ’s Good Time Bar, Jackson’s self-owned honky-tonk on downtown Nashville’s famed “Lower Broadway,” to open select dates on Jackson’s 2019 “Honky Tonk Highway” tour. Over the past few years, James has enjoyed playing several opening slots, festivals, fairs, and private events in locations all across the United States and has even had the opportunity to travel to Canada, Japan, Scotland, and Norway for shows.

Shocking Stories of What Influences the Making of Legal Decisions in the Justice System (1999)
Mary Frances Berry (born February 17, 1938) is the Geraldine R. Segal Professor of American Social Thought and Professor of History at the University of Pennsylvania and the former chairwoman of the United States Commission on Civil Rights. She is also the former board chair of Pacifica Radio. She is a past president of the Organization of American Historians, the primary professional organization for historians of the United States.
At Penn, Berry teaches American legal history. Before coming to Penn, Berry was provost of the College of Behavioral and Social Science at University of Maryland, College Park, and chancellor of the University of Colorado at Boulder. She received Ph.D. and J.D. degrees from the University of Michigan.
Berry was born on February 17, 1938, in Nashville, Tennessee. She was the second of the three children of George and Frances Berry. Because of economic hardship and family circumstances, she and her older brother were placed in an orphanage for a time.
Berry attended Nashville's segregated schools, graduating with honors from high school and attending Fisk University in Nashville, where her primary interests were philosophy, history, and chemistry. Berry transferred to Howard University, where she received her bachelor's degree. Following this, Berry studied at the University of Michigan, received a Ph.D. in history from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
Berry spent the next six years working at the University of Maryland, eventually becoming interim provost of the Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences. In 1976, she became chancellor of the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, the first black woman to head a major research university.[1][2]
In 1977, Berry took a leave of absence from the University of Colorado when President Jimmy Carter named her assistant secretary for education in the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare.[1] According to Paul Glastris, in one speech, Berry embarrassed the Carter administration by praising major aspects of the education system in communist China,.[3] Glastris offers two other non-contemporaneous examples to bolster his argument that Berry's views did not reflect a momentary flight of harmless cultural relativism,[3] both from a book Berry co-wrote in 1982 with John Blassingame, Long Memory: The Black Experience in America. In one instance, they described Great Society efforts to promote family planning in black ghettos: Although most historians have dismissed the claims of Afro-Americans that the United States had inaugurated a campaign of genocide against black people in the 1960s as unfounded, hysterical charges, the threat of genocide was real. It was roughly comparable to the threat faced by Jews in the 1930s. Regarding American blacks' lack of interest in Communism in the 1920s and 1930s, Berry and Blassingame wrote: Subjected to a massive barrage of propaganda from American news media, few of them knew about Russia's constitutional safeguards for minorities, the extent of equal opportunity, or the equal provision of social services to its citizens.
In 1980, Berry left the Department of Education to return to Howard University as a professor of history and law. Carter appointed her to the U.S. Civil Rights Commission,[1] where during her tenure she became involved in legal battles with Carter's successor, Ronald Reagan. When Reagan attempted to remove her from the board, she successfully went to court to keep her seat.[4] She clashed frequently on the commission with the Reagan-appointed chairman, Clarence M. Pendleton, Jr., a fellow African American and a former swimming coach at Howard University. Pendleton tried to move the commission in line with Reagan's social and civil rights views and aroused the ire of liberals and feminists. He served from 1981 until his sudden death in 1988.[5]
In 1984, Berry co-founded the Free South Africa Movement, dedicated to the abolition of apartheid in South Africa. She was one of three prominent Americans arrested at the South African Embassy in Washington the day before Thanksgiving; the timing was deliberate to ensure maximum news exposure.[1]
In 1987, Berry took a tenured chair at the University of Pennsylvania, while continuing to serve on the Civil Rights Commission.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
LANDSHARK.wmv
This is a really bad video. It's so bad, in fact, that, if there were a 'Youtube' contest for the worst videos, LANDSHARK would probably make the top 10. I predict, however, that-- as with most really bad things in general--the sheer badness of this video will render it addictive and highly entertaining. In much the same was as one feels compelled to smell that thing in the back of the refrigerator that has been there for weeks, or to examine a fresh specimen of road kill, this video will probably draw an audience.

Celebs excited for 2017 solar eclipse
(18 Aug 2017) STARS LOOK FORWARDS TO SOLAR ECLIPSE
Former Vice President Al Gore is among the millions of Americans looking forward to enjoying a rare solar eclipse on home turf.
As the moon passes in front of the sun, Monday (21 AUG. 2017), those watching its progress from the thin path of totality - which unusually, will cross 14 states - will witness the rare event first hand.
The lunar shadow will darken the skies, causing temperatures to fall and allowing the stars to shine.
Still more will be in the path of the partial eclipse, where the moon obscures a portion of the sun.
Gore has invited friends round to enjoy the spectacle with him - including a well briefed scientist who tipped him off not to book a trip away to catch the best of it.
In fact my farm in Tennessee is right in the ideal transect coming across the U.S. from Oregon to South Carolina. And one of the climate scientists that I work with told me three years ago, he's kind of an eclipse groupie, he told me three years
ago that my farm was an ideal site, Gore explains.
And he and his wife are coming and we have some other friends coming, so I'm very excited about it.
Country star Jason Aldean is ready too. He already has his set of special glasses, equipped with solar filters to protect viewers' eyes from the sun's harmful UV rays.
Solar eclipse coming through Nashville. I already got the glasses, he confirms.
I asked why I couldn't just wear my normal Coasta sunglasses. Was that not good enough? And apparently it's not. So but yeah, I got some glasses. I think it will be cool. Probably may not see another one ever, so I figure I better check it out. It's going to be exciting. I am not usually a guy that's into that kind of stuff, but I figure, what the hell.
It will be the first coast to coast total eclipse in America for nearly a century. Country duo Florida Georgia Line plan to celebrate at their downtown Nashville bar and restaurant.
We're going to the FGL House. Definitely, said Tyler Hubbard. It's going down. 100 percent. Rooftop. Eclipse.
While it is safe to look right at an eclipse during totality, viewers are warned they may be caught off guard as the moon moves and reveals the sun. Viewing through special protective lenses - or via indirect methods, such as pinhole projection - is therefore advised during all phases of an eclipse, to prevent eye damage.
Fellow Country star Brad Paisley is taking no chances.
I am not going to look right at it, until I figure out if I have the right glasses, notes Paisley. They tell me you'll go blind. I am going to be darn sure that I am prepared. But yeah, I am excited to see this. And there's a last time for everything. It's probably the last chance we're going to have there.
Country music band Old Dominion might actually have a nice view aboard a plane headed to Nashville. Trevor Rosen, one of the guitarists, joked the passengers craning to see the eclipse might tip over the plane.
Everyone is going to go on that side of the plane and it's going to go (tips hand sideways), Rosen said.
Luckily, Monday's solar eclipse is also set to star in several special broadcasts on TV and online.
Most coverage begins Monday at 1 p.m. EDT, just before the eclipse begins in Oregon.

PLACES TO VISIT IN NASHVILLE WITH KIDS Country Music Hall of Fame is a great museum for anyone -- even if you are not a big country music fan. The museum is attached to the Omni Nashville Hotel, which is fairly large and has one of the only outdoor pools in Nashville. The hotel in in the central part of Nashville, making it easy to walk to different places. Hatch Show Print is a letterpress print shop that has been around for over a hundred years. You can watch the printing through big windows in the front and take workshops. You should check out the Ryman Auditorium, which is known as the Mother Church of Country Music, but more than just country musicians play there. Riverfront Park is a great place to visit if you have young kids that need to have some play time. The Parthenon is a cool place to visit and you need to take about a half hour out of your day. It is a full scale replica of the Greek Parthenon and on weekends there are a lot of festivals and food trucks there. This is also a great place to have a picnic with your family. The Grand Ole Opry is a fantastic piece of Nashville's history and a must do when in Nashville. If you really want to try Nashville Hot Chicken one of the most famous places would be Hattie B’s. This is a great family place and has the ability to order online and has two locations now. BEST PLACE TO TAKE FAMILY PHOTO Most photos are taken in front of ‘I believe in Nashville’ mural. 12th South has a few great colorful murals. If you want the skyline, taking a photo in front of the Bridge building has a great view looking over the river.
FAVORITE TRAVEL GEAR Kristin loves to wear sundresses from LOFT, Gap, and Old Navy.

About Capitalism
Henry Rollins traverses 50 states with a politically-themed talk show, culminating with an election-eve performance in Washington D.C. on November 5th. This two-month tour will stop in each state capital -- starting September 6 at Hawaiian Brian's in Honolulu, HI, venturing through places like the Diamond Ball Room in Oklahoma City, T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre, South Dakota and ending up in Washington, D.C., Henry's hometown. Henry's latest tour offers not so much a voting guide, but an unveiling of Henry's very own political viewpoint -- an unflinching quest for truth.
About Henry Rollins
For better than a quarter century, Henry Rollins has toured the world as a spoken word artist, as frontman for both Rollins Band and Black Flag and -- without a microphone -- as a solitary traveler with insatiable curiosity. When he's not living out of a suitcase, Rollins is constantly at work as an actor, radio DJ, author of more than 20 books, and running his publishing company and record label 2.13.61. Henry currently hosts a weekly radio show on L.A.'s renowned NPR affiliate KCRW, and is a regular contributor to VanityFair.com with his Straight Talk Espresso blog.
