Places to see in ( Chattanooga - USA )
Chattanooga, a city in southeastern Tennessee, is set along the Tennessee River in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Its trolleylike Incline Railway scales steep Lookout Mountain before reaching Ruby Falls waterfall and Rock City, featuring sweeping views, sandstone formations and gardens. Point Park, also atop Lookout, marks the site of a Civil War battle now honored at the Battles for Chattanooga Museum.
The city, with a downtown elevation of approximately 680 feet (210 m), lies at the transition between the ridge-and-valley portion of the Appalachian Mountains and the Cumberland Plateau. Surrounded by mountains and ridges, the official nickname for Chattanooga is Scenic City, reinforced by the city's reputation for outdoor activities. Unofficial nicknames include River City, Chatt, Nooga, Chattown, and Gig City, referencing Chattanooga's claims that it has the fastest internet service in the Western Hemisphere.
Chattanooga is internationally known for the 1941 song Chattanooga Choo Choo by Glenn Miller and his orchestra. Chattanooga is home to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) and Chattanooga State Community College. Downtown Chattanooga showcases a wide variety of entertainment, dining, cultural and architectural attractions. Since the completion of the Tennessee Aquarium in 1992, the downtown area has experienced a wide array of development projects, including the Creative Discovery Museum and the reopening of the historic Walnut Street Bridge (Chattanooga).
Chattanooga has many buildings on the National Register of Historic Places as well as three neighborhoods: Ferger Place, Fort Wood, and St. Elmo. Additionally, Chattanooga has several local historic districts: Battery Place, Fort Wood, Ferger Place, Glenwood, Missionary Ridge, M.L. King, St. Elmo, and Stringer's Ridge. Four of these are formally managed as local historic districts by the city.

My statement about water moccasins in SE Tennessee; I promise you, we have found water moccasins in SE Tennessee. This is where having something taught to you and actually getting out and living in nature are different. I use to do a lot of canoeing and I have heard tails of them falling out of trees into your canoe This lady just hasn't spent enough time in the woods around water :)

Never take for granted the opportunities we have in this great country, because many of you out there need to grow up and take ownership of your situation. Realize it's up to you to make it better. Stop being the victim and own your future.

Ruby Falls & Lookout Mountain, Tennessee
Amateur video footage shot in Chattanooga, Tennessee, October 2018 using a GoPro Hero 7 Black on a Karma Grip in 4k60fps. This trip included the Ruby Falls tour combined with a hike starting at the top of Lookout Mountain, called Point Park, and down to the base where the non-profit organization Reflection Riding has a arboretum and wildlife center. Didn't have time to visit there, so we simply headed back up Lookout Mountain to Sunset Rock to end the day. The final shot was at Harrison Bay State Park's campground.
In the video as always is Olga Kostromitina.

Thomas Woltz, “Threatened Landscapes: Designed Countermeasures of N. B. W. Landscape Architects”
Public parks are a source of civic identity for the communities they serve – inclusivity and authenticity are crucial. Similarly, memorials are bastions of democratic exchange and act as repositories of our cultural past and evolution. Thomas Woltz will present projects from the portfolio of Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects (NBW) that demonstrate the power of the firm’s research-based design to reframe our relationship with civic, ecological, and cultural systems within the public realm. Lastly, Thomas will present NBW projects that prioritize the ecological health and resilience in agriculturally productive landscapes and reveal surprising connections between these typologies.
Over the past two decades of practice, landscape architect Thomas Woltz has forged a body of work that integrates the beauty and function of built forms with an understanding of complex biological systems and restoration ecology. As principal of Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects (NBW), a 45-person firm based in Charlottesville, Virginia and New York City, Woltz has infused narratives of the land into the places where people live, work and play, deepening the public’s enjoyment of the natural world and inspiring environmental stewardship. NBW projects create models of biodiversity and sustainable agriculture within areas of damaged ecological infrastructure and working farmland, yielding hundreds of acres of reconstructed wetlands, reforested land, and flourishing wildlife habitat.
Presently, Thomas and NBW are entrusted with the design of major public parks across the United States, Canada and New Zealand, they include Memorial Park in Houston, Hudson Yards in New York City, NoMA Green in Washington DC, Cornwall Park in Auckland, the Aga Khan Garden in Alberta, Canada, and three parks in Nashville, including Centennial Park.
In 2013 was named Design Innovator of the Year by the Wall Street Journal magazine and in 2017 Fast Company named Woltz one of the most creative people in business.
