Consumer credit is the portion of credit consumers use to buy non-investment services consumed or goods that depreciate quickly. This includes automobiles, education costs, recreational vehicles (RVs), boat and trailer loans, but it does not include debts obtained to purchase margin on investment accounts or real estate. Consumer credit allows consumers to get an advance or loan to spend money on products or services for family, household or personal uses repaid at a specified future date. The main advantage of consumer credit is that consumers can purchase goods and services and pay for them later.
The financial services industry constitutes the largest group of companies in the world in terms of earnings and equity market capitalization. However it is not the largest category in terms of revenue or number of employees. It is also a slow growing and extremely fragmented industry, with the largest company (Citigroup), only having a 3% US market share. In contrast, the largest home improvement store in the US, Home Depot, has a 30% market share, and the largest coffee house Starbucks has a market share of 32%.

Paul Walter writes:
Josephine County Commissioners Keith Heck and Cherryl
Walker both support a code enforcement police state, war-
rantless searches of homes and businesses, huge fines,
jail time, confiscation of property for minor offenses, not to
mention Walker's own appointed kangaroo court. It's all
unconstitutional. Yet, they both took an oath to uphold the
Constitution.
The worst part of all, Heck was supported by our local pas-
tors. I was told that pastors were arm-twisting people to get
them to vote against their conscience for Heck, when there
were much better and more principled candidates to choose
from. But no. They wanted Heck because he is 'Mr. Gospel
Rescue Mission.' Heck admitted at a candidate forum that
at one time he was a registered socialist in Orange County,
Calif.
I have been saying for years that local church leaders are
spiritually blind. The local church leadership for the most
part, with few exceptions, is long on words and shortsighted
on substance. Supporting a onetime socialist like Heck
proves my point.
Now I'm going to make another prediction. Coming in the
near future is a one world religion, which will lead to a trans-
ponder (microchip) injected under your skin on the right hand.
We won't be able to buy or sell without it. Will the pastors
support the mark of the beast? You bet they will. Unless,
of course, they wake up. I pray they do. But I'm not going
to count on it, seeing their record.
Paul Walter, Grants Pass

Keith Heck responds:
I do not subscribe to the dangerous philosophy of those
who keep repeating untruths and half-truths; they must
be confronted: 'Make the lie big, make it simple, keep
saying it, and eventually they will believe it.' (Adolph Hitler).
In his Nov. 1 letter, Paul Walter displays his version of this
repugnant philosophy.
I am accused of supporting a 'police state,' 'warrantless
searches of homes,' and a 'kangaroo court.' I assume he
is referencing my support for the county ordinances appear-
ing for vote. I am thankful that I have never had to live in a
police state. Nor do I live where the U.S. Constitution can
be violated by conducting warrantless searches of homes.
Kangaroo courts? Show me where? Purely self-invented
and defined lies.
I ask Walter to name a pastor who was 'arm-twisting people
...to vote against their conscience.' Baseless lies. With a
straight face, he laces together the Gospel Rescue Mission
and my self-admitted brief flirtation with socialism. Of course,
he omits that my socialist adventure amounted to just under
12 months and was over 45 years ago.
Such people as Walter are blinded by their bigotry and small-
ness that keeps them from seeing a dynamic community
comprised of volunteers actively involved in making our com-
munity ever better.
Building playgrounds, Reinhart Volunteer Park and Morrison
Park are just a sample. The sacrificing service groups, the
volunteers to maintain Scouting and 4-H, as well as a host
of others. Walter needs to go ply his untruth and half-truth
misery somewhere else. I hope this community will continue
to drown out his specious invectives by works of compassion
and goodness that benefit the whole.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
The 1935 Labor Day hurricane (formally known as Hurricane Three) was the most intense hurricane to make landfall in the United States on record in terms of both pressure and wind speed. It was also the most intense Atlantic hurricane on record until Hurricane Gilbert in 1988. The second tropical cyclone, second hurricane, and second major hurricane of the 1935 Atlantic hurricane season, the Labor Day Hurricane was the first of three Category 5 hurricanes to strike the United States at that intensity during the 20th century (the other two being 1969's Hurricane Camille and 1992's Hurricane Andrew). After forming as a weak tropical storm east of the Bahamas on August 29, it slowly proceeded westward and became a hurricane on September 1.
The hurricane intensified rapidly, and passed near Long Key on the evening of September 2. The region was swept by a massive storm surge as the eye passed. The waters quickly receded after carving new channels connecting the bay with the ocean; however, gale force winds and high seas persisted into Tuesday, preventing rescue efforts. The storm continued northwest along the Florida west coast, weakening before its second landfall near Cedar Key, Florida, on September 4.
The compact and intense hurricane caused extreme damage in the upper Florida Keys, as a storm surge of approximately 18 to 20 feet (5.5–6 meters) swept over the low-lying islands. The hurricane's strong winds and the surge destroyed nearly all the structures between Tavernier and Marathon. The town of Islamorada was obliterated. Portions of the Key West Extension of the Florida East Coast Railway were severely damaged or destroyed. The hurricane also caused additional damage in northwest Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas.
