Spearheading conservation : indigenous flora in place of invasive species in Rajasthan
Rajasthani women plant locally appropriate indigenous tree species to stave off the Prosopis invasion, under the able stewardship of Durgeshnandini Rathore of the Jodhpur royal family, and owners of Bagheera's Camp are carrying out a wider campaign for habitat conservation through local ground action. They don't just preach but do and carry out what they believe in, in a scientific fashion...
Local trees are best at dealing with our climate and supporting local bird and insect species, do not kill off other indigenous tree species and are good for the soil and water conservation. The mesquite or Prosopis is bad for Indian conditions and must be removed and suitably replaced with the right flora.
It isn't enough to have trees or plant trees, but it is more important to have the right mix and kinds of trees for a region, most often just the indigenous trees that naturally grow there and do well in a region.
What is that displaced worm - a glow worm perhaps?

Rajkumari Padmaja on Jawai Leopard Conservation Reserve and monitored grazing
An epic chronicle and a true story of a Princess in the wild Padmaja Rathore says So for the past several years apart from just spreading awareness for medical tourism and for sensitive wildlife tourism we have also started off a concept by the name of Bagheera's camp. The Bagheera's Camp is a social enterprise, a wildlife-friendly homestay camp that is meant for arid recovery of this area for wetlands as well as indigenous species of flora and fauna with the help of the Mera community, Meena community and the raika for the upliftment of livestock allowing monitored grazing.
What monitored grazing does is that if you just imagine that there were herds of animals that used to graze the savanna and now there is no grazing. So it is reducing the quality of land because of the dung of these animals when going into the soil not only allow different types of trees to grow but they also start fertilising the soil.

Ganga by wildfilmsindia - our take on the River eternal, the Ganges
Hailed as a Goddess descended from the heavens; worshipped as a life giving mother, she originates in the Himalaya of northern India and travels more than 2500 kilometres across Northern and Eastern India to get to her final destination - the sea at Gangasagar in Bengal, nurturing the fertile Indo Gangetic plains en route and a complete civilisation in her path.
This is the journey of India’s best known and most revered river – the Ganges or the Ganga as it is known in India. To put things in perspective, it is not just a river but the lifeline of over half a billion people who inhabit its basin. This is more than the populations of United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Italy combined!!
We embark on an epic journey, unravelling the tale of this ancient river. From its birth in the upper Himalaya, we follow its course along the mountains and the plains of Northern India through to its mouth in the Bay of Bengal. Along the way we delve into the good, the bad and the ugly that faces the river. We discover the mountains and the forests that feed it, the flora, the fauna and the medley of cultures that thrive along its banks along with their impact on the river itself. Join us on a memorable journey through space and time, along the serpentine route of the Ganga – the life-giving river of India.

Luxury in the wild: Bagheera's Camp creates new Aman-esque spartan wilderness luxury block
The new block of six luxury room-suites at Bagheera's Camp in Jawai throws open a new concept of spartan wilderness luxury, in a very Aman Resort type setting, with wildlife, scrub forest, Aravalli hills and extensive plains for company, and no other human beings! From atop one of the rooms we even saw a trio of Chinkara or Indian Gazella walking the Masai Mara-esque plains of Jawai!
Sit outside the room and take in the view of the Aravalli scrub forest and the sounds of the desert's edge.

Clearing beer bottles from Jawai Wetlands in Rajasthan: cleaning up after tourism
Padmaja Rathore of the Jodhpur family wears her tourism mantle with great seriousness. So when she comes across trashed beer bottles or plastic packets in her beloved Jawai landscape, she collects them in her classic trademark 1940's Ford Jeep, as she travels the open Masai Mara-esque plains of Rajasthan, India.
Padmaja Rathore has been overseeing and cleaning up the Jawai region for 16 years now, as a personal environmental commitment, the mission is to rewild Jawai Bandh and related areas.
Bhanwar Singh (in the red shirt) is a naturalist at Bagheera's Camp in Jawai. So if you want to spot leopards (not stripe them, indeed), visit Bagheera's in India, and get the experience of a life-time with such folks, with stringent self-set rules but no binding parameters, so you get a truly wild experience on your own terms, with a first-hand glance of the Jawai wetlands and grasslands, and active water conservation work in action.
See the trackers of the Royal house of Jodhpur, infield action, as they spread awareness by example about responsible and respectful tourism in the Indian wilderness.

Jawai region village men sing by bonfire: Bagheera's Camp, Rajasthan
Rajasthani men from the Godwar region sing around a winter bonfire in their village near Jawai, at Bagheera's Camp in Rajasthan. The instrumentation is simple and yet their voices are in tune.
One of them can be seen playing a Rajasthani instrument called the Kamaicha.
The Kamaicha is one of the oldest bowed musical instruments in the world. This instrument is made from a single piece of wood and its three main strings are made of goat intestine, while the fourteen others are made of steel. It is used extensively in Rajasthani folk music.
Rajasthani folk music is immensely popular and is appreciated all over the world, but what makes this music so special? The answer is unique primitive-looking musical instruments.

Activate your Intuition: A Workshop for the Wild Woman
IG: TheVeganYogiTraveller
Brand new workshop out on the 8.6.19 in Hamburg, Germany
Intuition.
Intuition is a part of our innate feminine wisdom, acting as a bridge to the Higher realms, where we can tap in to receive messages, insights and guidance for our highest and greatest good.
In ancient times, it was so natural for women to be living in alignment with their intuition and with the cycles of nature. However in this chaotic modern day society, we are so overloaded with stimulus and often rely on technology and the outside world to govern our lives, rather than listening to whispers of the innate wisdom which lays within.
This workshop is for women looking to re-wild themselves. It’s all about tuning back into our deep inner knowing, and learning to TRUST the messages that we receive. To begin our intuition activation, we will be exploring a variety of tools and methods to reconnect and awaken our third eye chakra (the seat of our intuition).

Preparation of Laal Maas - Rajasthani exotic cuisine, at Bagheera's Camp, Jawai
Chef Darshna says Greetings, I am Darshna, training to be a Gourmet Chef at The Princess' Wild Kitchen, Bagheera's Camp. Today I am going to teach you how to cook Laal Maas. Laal means red and Maas means meat, but Laal maas has less meat and more bones. We make Laal Maas because of the nutrition in the bone marrow.
In olden days, Laal maas was made for the armies for superior nutrition. This is where one finds the bone marrow, one must put the bone between the lips and suck the marrow from the bone to get the best part.
