Summery:The last part of tourism documentary series made by Russia Today. It explores the various charms of Kalinigrad, with its historical background. The region is famous for amber production and its craft, and the city Kaliningrad is also famous as the place where Immanuel Kant lived. The richness of various styles of architecture is also notable. Reporter seems to have enjoyed the shooting as a summer vacation.
The following is the short introduction by RT: The Kaliningrad region is truly a unique part of Russia. The country's westernmost point, it shares no borders with the rest of the mainland and is surrounded by the Baltic Sea, Poland and Lithuania. Annexed at the end of World War II, the region used to be part of East Prussia. It was famed as a centre of culture and commerce, the home of philosopher Immanuel Kant and the world's largest producer of raw amber. There have been many changes in the past few decades but the original German history and flavor is still very present. The centre of the capital, Kaliningrad, is a mix of waterways, parks and broad avenues that incorporate both modern and medieval architecture.

Known as a Belyany, the wooden boat was one of many used to transport timbers in Russia during the 19th and 20th centuries. On the banks of the Vetluga river in the Nizhny Novgorod region lies a reminder of the area's rich history.

Gorky was the name given to the great Volga town of Nizhny Novgorod between 1932 and 1990 after the writer Maxim Gorky , who was born there. During much of the Soviet period, the city was closed to foreigners in order to safeguard the security of Soviet military research and production. These photographs were taken during these years and, therefore, are most interesting.
I first came to the city in the mid-1990's, and have returned on several occasions since. I like it very much.........

Military engineers representing Russia, Belarus, China, and Egypt participated in a competition in the central Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod on Wednesday.
Only the Chinese team brought their own military equipment.
The contest was part of the International Army Games 2015 being held on 11 firing fields of Russia from August 1 to 15.

25 января мне было очень приятно по приглашению Галины Павловны Абаевой посетить Волжскую государственную академию водного транспорта, где находится музей речного флота, там я спел для ветеранов флота, и поздравил с днем студента учащихся.
Очень понравился музей, я увидел множество моделей разного времени, самое дорогое это знакомство с работой Алексеева Ростислава Евгеньевича. Его суда на подводных крыльях впечатляют. Так же было приятно познакомится с его дочерью Татьяной Ростиславовной. Советую всем посетить музей, и прикоснуться к истории Речного флота.

Yekaterinburg is a city in Russia, east of the Ural Mountains. It’s known for the golden-domed Church on the Blood, built in the early 21st century on the site of the 1918 Romanov executions. The Monument to the Founders stands by the banks of the Iset River. Exhibits at the nearby Sverdlovsk Regional Local Lore Museum include the Hall of the Romanovs, with personal items that belonged to the last royal family.

The bombing of Gorky (now known as Nizhny Novgorod) by the Luftwaffe continued from 1941 to 1943 in the Eastern Front theatre of World War II. The main purpose of the bombing was to destroy the industrial center of the city. Gorky Automobile Plant received the greatest damage. During the war, enemy bombers carried out 43 raids, 26 of which were at night. 33,934 incendiary bombs and 1,631 high-explosive bombs were dropped on the city. The bombings of Gorky were the most destructive blows by the Luftwaffe to the rear of the Soviet Union during the war.
