This is the best way to explain why Houston is afraid of snow.
This is video of Memorial Drive as it approaches the city. You can see cars driving normally, and then they come to a total crawl as the reach the bridge. (You can kind of see the ice-white color where the bridge is. That's ice.)
Now imagine that on bridges three times as large, dozens of feet in the air, with 10x the traffic (e.g. I-45).
And that's why I'm not driving in to work today.
