A Rig to Remember: A Southern Boating Adventure
In early November 2014, Andy Fogal, Tom Storm, and I traveled south from our home state of Pennsylvania in Tom's finely crafted condo/truck to paddle all the whitewater we could find. In one week, and an average of 200 miles a day later, we had visited North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Washington DC to paddle the best sections of the Wilson, Nolichucky, Nantahala, Chattooga, Potomac, and Tallulah rivers. Armed with four kayaks, lots of video equipment, two outstandingly patient kayakers, and lots of Indian food I present to you A Rig to Remember, which is the best representation I could create of the memories we shared, without making you experience all the driving and freezing temperatures yourself. Enjoy!

Rafting the Whitewater Rapids Lower Gorge of Lehigh River
We did the Dam Release at Pocono Whitewater. It was the first time for everyone but me (camera guy). It was my 3rd time white water rafting. My wife (blue shirt) was very nervous before we started but once we got going, she was thrilled. We did almost everything wrong like hitting rocks, getting stuck on rocks, going backwards through rapids, falling out of the raft, etc. but we made it with minor injuries and had a lot of fun. The run was about 12 miles long and took about 4 hours with 6 stops, one of which was an hour for lunch along the shoreline.
Kayaking at Shahola Falls PA
I occasionally kayak and fish, figured why not hit record and let it roll. Feel free to use this as a meditation tool.
