Roberts Hawaii Circle Island Tour on the Big Island.
Roberts Hawaii Circle Island Tour begins in Kailua Kona, goes across the saddle back road in between Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, stops at Rainbow Falls in Hilo, goes on to Big Island Candy, then stops for Lunch at the Sky Garden at University of Hilo. After Lunch you will head to Volcano National Park, where you will walk through the lava tube and view the Halemaumau Crater from the Jagger Museum. After the museum its off to Punalu'u Black Sand Beach and then stop for a snack at the Punalu'u Bakery before heading back to Kona and stopping at the Royal Kona Coffee farm. Aloha.

Old Saddle Road Drive Starting in Waimea (Kamuela) Hawaii on the Big Island
My neighbor and I take a drive on the old Saddle Road beginning in Waimea, Hawaii on the Big Island. It started off overcast then went to downpour then nice blue sky. Waimea is where Parker Ranch Headquarters is located.

Manta Ray Night Dive close to Kailua-Kona Hawaii with Big Island Divers and Manta Ray Advocates
Had a great Manta Ray Night Dive with Big Island Divers (bigislanddivers.com) on Big Island Hawaii, (second dive with them that day). First one (afternoon) was great too: dolphins, barracuda, manta's, garden-eels, great coral reef and so on. But this one was even more amazing, otherwordly, ......
These giant creatures are virtually harmless, feed on plankton (by filtering), are thought to be intelligent (high brain mass to body mass ratio) and can reach a wingspan of more than 5 meters (16 feet) - just some facts :)
We, as scuba-divers, sat on the oceanfloor (about 10 m / 30 ft deep), rocks on our laps, around a campfire of light having been positioned there by Big Island Divers at the start of our afternoon dive to attract plankton. We also used our flashlights. Snorkelers were also present at the surface looking down to enjoy this spectacular show. Mantas passed all the time, sometimes only cm/inches away, had to duck or lean/lay back often to prevent hurting them.

Shore Diving Big Island, Hawaii - Old Airport Dive Site | Kona Honu Divers
Some of the best shore diving on the big island is found in Kona Hawaii, and local Kona dive shop, Kona Honu Divers ( can give you a guide to the best shore diving big island tips & trips! Old airport dive site is great diving and it's about a 5 minute drive from the shop! It's well protected from the usual NW swell so it's a good option when sites like puako are not diveable. We took Laura Roberts of Dread Pirate Pottery along for a great shore dive. Old Airport dive site has some nice perks. Arches, blue water pelagic fish, and nice coral are just a few of the highlights. Old airport beach park is also a fantastic place to have picnic lunch after the dive with shower and restroom facilities along with shaded benches for chillaxin
