Rochester Falls is a waterfall on the Savanne River. It is famous for the strange rectangular form of its rocky flank.
It is localted at around 2.5 kilometers from Souillac. The falls tumble from the Savanne River from a height of about 10 m (33 ft) where constant erosion has fashioned the basalt rock into upright columns. Youngsters often perform dare-devil dives into the water below.
The 'youngsters' line-up: Rusa, Shadab, Maged, Adinay, Angad, Hiten and Roalt (He gathers the courage and jumps later on)

Domaine de Gris-Gris: Les Forces Vives de Souillac réclament une autre route d'accès
Les Forces Vives de Souillac ont tenté d'expliquer leur demande d'une route alternative lors d'une visite des lieux le mercredi 22 août 2012 au Domaine de Gris-Gris. Le Président du Conseil de District du Sud a pu se faire une idée du contentieux qui oppose les habitants aux promoteurs sur la route d'accès vers la Roche qui pleure.

Souillac: La pâtisserie ZOZA voit le jour
La pâtisserie ZOZA a ouvert ses portes aujourd’hui, le samedi 5 mai à la rue Lady Barkly, Souillac. Le propriétaire de ZOZA est Fawez Pokun et il compte 7 ans d’expérience dans le domaine de la pâtisserie. En ce jour spécial, le village de Souillac est en fête. Le public présent a eu droit à un accueil chaleureux, des gâteaux et rafraichissements. Chez Zoza, la qualité et le service clientèle priment. Les prix des gâteaux sont très abordables et sont à la portée de toutes les bourses. « Les gâteaux sont vendus à des prix abordables. Je veux servir le village de Souillac et la population mauricienne au mieux de mes possibilités. Chez nous, le client est roi », souligne Fawez Pokun qui est épaulé dans sa tâche par son épouse et ses enfants.
Les pâtissiers de ZOZA sont personnes chevronnées pour qui la confection et la décoration des gâteaux n’ont pas de secret. Une atmosphère conviviale règne dans ce point de commerce. La devise de ZOZA est « to serve the population with love and a smile ».
A noter que la pâtisserie ZOZA est située à la rue Lady Barkly qui mène tout droit vers le Rochester Falls. Pour la petite histoire, sachez que le nom ZOZA est dérivé des prénoms des enfants du couple Pokun ; soit Zohrah et Zaheer.

Anaïs Jean est morte à son domicile à Résidence Barkly ce mercredi 26 octobre. L’adolescente de 18 ans a été découverte la tête dans un seau d’eau. Son petit ami qui a été arrêté a avoué le crime.

EAU BLEU WATERFALL
Located on the south of the island, in the district of Souillac; Rochester Falls depict the perfect definition of volcanic formations and the past history of Mauritius as a whole (being a volcanic island). In fact, this waterfall is unique on its own as water flows through what seem to look like blocks of rocks (in square shapes); it gives a mesmerizing illusion and it differentiates itself from any other waterfall you will find across the island!
The waterfall is quite popular among locals and visitors as you will find a nice pond to take a dip and swim. It is located in a wild lush forest away from the rush of civilization. We think this is yet another unique selling point! The location is ideal for a day out with your group of friends. Bear in mind to leave only footprints!
