After the great success at the London event, where the IE had been presented by a Romanian model, we decided to share our culture and the joy of wearing these uniquely handcrafted traditional blouses with a London based actress and fashion model. We are pleased to know people enjoyed Romanian traditions and costumes, and we are striving to make Romanian people become known for their talent and hard work. We are particularly excited about this video project, especially because of the cultural diversity we aimed to achieve, mentioning that we love the IE, and would love to see this piece of art even more popular. Thank you very much and we apreciate your support in making the Romanian IE known!

There is another person who waits for me after finishing the meal. It is the grandmother who lives in the same neighborhood. Grandma, hello. You are my pretty girl. Let's go in. Let's see if my clothes are good. That's it. Here you are. Is this your grandmother? Yes, it is. Since when did you have it? Not since I was 18 years old. I think I've had it since I was about 14 or 15 years old. My grandmother is showing her wedding dress. Please let me know what a traditional costume is. This is a skirt. This is a blouse. And when I put on these clothes, I have to wear a cloth on my head. My grandmother dressed her in a dress, but she looks just the same. I think I'm wearing the right shoes. It looks good. Uniquely, the bridal veil is black. I'm ready to get married. That's right. Because I have this suit. Then I'll have to find a man. I'll be there already. It seems to know. I leave Trang with my heart.

HYPERBOREAN FOLKLORE – BETWEEN TRADITION AND MODERNITY
Exhibition | Bukarest Romania 05/08/2017
HYPERBOREAN FOLKLORE depicts through image and poetry the ancient fashion art crafts discovered on the territory of Dacia, actual Romania and their timeless stories. The main thread of this concept is based on the mythological tales and history of the Dacia’s ancestors – the hyperborean’s – spiritual people whom were living in a beautiful geography, having spiritual endeavors, living the eternal life, being protected by ancestral Gods.
HYPERBOREAN FOLKLORE is the tribute to those who supposedly are the Romanians roots and the inheritance they left over, here in terms of style and beauty and its relation with the divine. Most of the ancient history writings describes the Dacia’s people as good looking ones, wearing beautiful clothes and pure gold accessories with an ancestral symbolism encrypted on, inspired by their henotheist belief. The main stream of the Zamolxian’s wisdom says: “You cannot cure the body without curing the soul.”.
Year 2017 brings the artists Ana Druga, Pierre Vauvillier and Iraida Florea the 2nd successful exhibition held in Bucharest at Sf. Miron & Nicolae Church 5th August. The vernissage embodied more traditional spiritual shape under the cure of the orthodox priests who offered the traditional Romanian treat: home made bread and the clay cup with wine for the joy of the guests. The participation of the traditional costume collectors at the exhibition dressed up in their costumes gave the event an archaic nuance in a very modern time. Romanian traditional music enchanted on the background.

Our Favorite Romanian Food in Bucharest Romania
Heading back to Bucharest from Brasov, Romania allowed us to eat all of our favorite Romanian dishes one last time before leaving the country. With this in mind, we headed over to La Plăcinte restaurant to order a complete meal. With a huge menu featuring a selection of Moldavian pies, soups, salads, grilled meats and desserts narrowing down what we wanted to have for the last time was a daunting task. We ended up ordering as follows:

Our Favorite Romanian Food in Bucharest, Romania Travel Video Transcript:
We're coming to the end of our time in Romania and we thought we'd take you out one last time to show you some traditional Romanian cuisine. It's definitely been a highlight of our trip. We've absolutely loved eating Romanian food, so we can't wait to show you a few new things.
So I'm very excited because our food has finally arrived and first up I'm going to show you this Moldavian pancake. So it is basically a dough pancake and it is filled with sheep's cheese and cow's cheese but our server also asked if we wanted bacon inside, so we said 'yes, of course.' So let's dig in. I'm going to cut it up and show you what it looks like.
On this inside. Oh, yeah. You can see all of the cheese seeping out. Mmmm.
Yeah, we've had this a few times and they're really generous with the cheese. Oh yeah. And you can order all different kinds of cheese. They have cottage cheese, you can get mozzarella cheese, whatever you like. Oh, so check it out from this angle. Can you see the bacon in there? Oh, yeah. Oh yeah, baby. Oh, yeah.
Let's try it. I'm just eating it like a pizza. I don't know if is right.
Oh, that's still hot. Mmmm.
That's really good guys. Really good. A little greasy. My fingers are looking oily. But those flavors, the salty cheese and then you've got the bacon. It's real good. It's a nice little appetizer here. I like that you can have it as an appetizer or you could also have it as a main. Like if you were to eat that whole thing it's filling.
And we forgot to mention this can also be served as a dessert. That's right. You can get sweet ones as well. Yeah, sweet cheese and raisins and cranberries. We haven't tried one of those yet but. Maybe we should. Hahaha.
Okay, look over here because this is a pretty cool dish. Polenta balls. And I find it really interesting because I've had polenta before in places like Argentina and Italy but I've never seen the polenta rolled out into a little ball like they do here in Romania.
And if I cut it in half you can see that it is stuffed with cheese. Oh, yeah. Just look at that. Oh, yeah.
And here it comes with a garlic sauce with dill and also sour cream. So let's add a bit of sour cream. Dunk that in the garlic. Look at that. Oh, wow.
Mmmm. That's real good. That is so garlic-y. I'm going to have really bad breath after this but it is so good. It is worth it.
This is really good. This sort of reminds me a little bit of a lasagna. Mmmmm.
And of course we could not resist getting some dessert. So we are having something called Tort a Lunel. And I'm probably butchering the name but that is how I think it is pronounced. And it is basically a dense chocolate cake with Halva, walnuts and peanuts. Oh, my!
Alright, time for me to try this. Wow! That is some kind of decadent. I don't even know how we're going to finish this. The two of us with one piece of cake.
I find when I'm having Romanian food I am so stuffed by the end of the meal. Siesta time after this for sure..
Time for price point. It was 95 Lei which if we do the conversion according to Sam is very cheap. Right, Sam? Yeah, it is just over 20 US dollars and we ended up getting 3 drinks, 3 mains and a dessert. Not bad.

House for sale in Romania
House for sale in Romania
The photos were taken in April 2012 and show the house and the local landscape including the view from ground level outside the house.
ATIA, TRANSYLVANIA, ROMANIA - £9,500
A traditional stone and timber house in beautiful Transylvania, nicely located in a quiet village with views over the surrounding countryside and close to the Tarnava Mare and Praid salt mine tourist areas, offered for a quick sale at only £9,500.
The house has mains water and electricity, one large bedroom, a large sitting room, hallway, kitchen, veranda and balcony. The lower ground level comprises two storage rooms and a woodshed. Externally there is a parking area, garden and an orchard. It comes part-furnished with tables, chairs, two beds, kitchen furniture, a wood-fired cooking/heating range and a gas cooker. It has potential for alteration and improvement - up to 85% EU grant aid may be available if you want to improve it for use as a guest house:
Outgoings are minimal -- local tax (council tax equivalent) would be around £15 per year for full time occupation (currently £10/year because it is registered for weekend use), water £2/year and no standing charge for electricity so you pay only for what you use. Romania is a cheap place to live or visit - a large bottle of beer in the village bar costs 2.5RON -- about 45p.
Transylvania is one of the most beautiful parts of Europe, rich in myth and history. It contains the world's only surviving mediaeval landscape and is abundant with mediaeval fortress towns, monasteries, castles, fortified churches and picturesque villages where people live as they did a hundred years ago. You could experience this for yourself, spending time amongst communities that still rely on wells for water and horses for ploughing. Prices are still a fraction of those in comparable regions elsewhere in Europe and you would not be alone in seeing the opportunities -- Prince Charles has already bought and restored properties in the area and these are now used as holiday lets. Here's a link to a video of one of his houses -- this house is smaller but a similar style.
Here are some links to other websites about the region:
The nearest airport is about 50 miles away at Targu Mures with direct flights to London Luton, and when the new motorway network currently being constructed is complete it will be less than an hour's drive. This will also give good access to skiing resorts at Brasov, Bucharest and other areas of interest.
Here's a link to a location map showing the actual house:
The house is priced to sell. You will not find a house of this quality at this price anywhere else in Transylvania and particularly in this most accessible and interesting part. You could buy something cheaper in Bulgaria, but Bulgaria is never going to be the next Tuscany -- it just doesn't compare. It is ideal as a holiday home or for holiday lets, or you could just let it to a local and watch it rise in value. You would expect to pay more than this for a bare building plot.
The property has a modern registered 'Carte Funciara' title, very similar to a UK Land Registry title. The sale process is simple - simpler than in the UK, as the sale transaction is conducted by an official notary, a legally registered officer who will ensure that everything is done correctly. You don't need a lawyer (although of course you may decide to appoint one) and you can authorise someone in the notary office to act for you so you don't have to go there yourself. There are no agent's fees and no mapping costs which you would have to pay if you buy a house with old title papers.
Romania joined the European Union in January 2007 with a five-year foreign land ownership restriction which expired at the end of 2011, so any EU citizen can now buy a house in Romania. There are websites still advising that you have to set up a local limited company to buy a Romanian house - this is no longer true and once more people know this prices should rise accordingly.

Prince Charles joins Romanian folk dancers
(30 Mar 2017) Britain's Prince Charles watched a traditional folk dance Thursday during his visit to Romania on the first day of a three-nation trip seen as an effort to reassure European Union nations that Britain remains a close ally.
Charles visited the Village Museum in the capital, Bucharest, which features rural houses from the country's different regions.
He watched as women and girls dressed in embroidered peasant blouses did a traditional jig known as hora.
Charles owns two properties in the northwest Transylvania region, which he visits every year.
He also visited the Vacaresti wetland park, which was developed from a project initiated by late Communist leader Nicolae Ceausescu in 1986 to connect Bucharest to the River Danube, 60 kilometers (40 miles) south of the city.
The project was abandoned after communism ended in 1989.
The prince's nine-day tour with his wife, Camilla, is designed to highlight the U.K.'s relationship with European partners in areas such as military ties and combating human trafficking, according to his official website.

International Folklore Festival Cismigiu Park in Bucharest:
“Music and Traditions in Cismigiu” International Folklore Festival:
Cismigiu Park in Bucharest will host a new edition of Music and Traditions in Cismigiu International Folklore Festival this weekend. Over 2,000 artists, orchestras, brass bands, folk groups, and craftsmen will gather downtown Bucharest between June 24 and June 25 for Romania’s largest folklore festival.
The event kicks off on Friday, June 24, with a parade of Romanian and international folk costumes which will follow the route Romanian Athenaeum – Calea Victoriei – Cercul Militar National – Regina Elisabeta blvd. – Cismigiu Park.
The Bucharest Mayor’s Office, via CreArT – the Bucharest City Hall’s Centre for Creation, Art and Tradition organizes, between June 24 and 26, the fifth edition of the “Music and Traditions in Cismigiu” International Folklore Festival. The event will kick off in Friday, June 24, with a Romanian and international folk costumes’ parade, along the route: Romanian Athenaeum (George Enescu Square) – Calea Victoriei – Military Circle – Regina Elisabeta Boulevard – Cismigiu Park (the State Archive entrance).
The festival includes three great sections: folk shows, artisans’ fairs (40 huts where Romanian traditional products and artefacts will be on offer) and a traditional cuisine area. “By this edition of the International Folklore Festival, we wish to bring, once again, before the public in Bucharest traditions from all regions of Romania and from elsewhere. Our aim is not only to recapture the identity of the village in the urban space, but also to integrate genuine tradition in the wide European cultural circuit,” Claudia Popa, director of the festival, stated, quoted by Mediafax. The programme is a varied one: Romanian and international folk ensembles, ensembles representing ethnic minorities and national communities, reputed artists, brass bands and children’s bands. The cultural project also includes creative workshops for children, an ethno-cinématheque, as well as carriage and pony rides in specially-set up areas. The manifestations will take part throughout the festival, between 10am and 10pm, and the public’s entrance is free. The “Music and Traditions in Cismigiu” International Folklore Festival is the only event of its kind in Southern Romania, bringing before the public over 1,000 artists, in a national and international celebration of true value.
