Rory's Fishing Tackle
A song from The Free Electric Beer Machine's award-winning* album 'Assfunkhammondorgandeath2k' about local pillar of society Rory of Rory's Fishing Tackle.
* Best in Breed, Wicklow County Livestock Fair 2008.
Lyrics:
Sean: Fishing tackle... Damn! Here comes Rory with his fishing tackle.
Ted: Hmm...I wonder where I can find fish genitalia...
Liam: Arr! Rory be the scamp for that!!!!
Deep inside Temple Bar (Rory's Fishing Tackle)
People come from near and far (Rory's Fishing Tackle)
Even Pirates who say Arr! (Rory's Fishing Tackle)
Know Rory's Fishing Tackle...
Bent rods are put on the mend (Rory's Fishing Tackle)
Never too much you can spend (Rory's Fishing Tackle)
You need bait, or just a friend? (Rory's Fishing Tackle)
Come to Rory's Fishing Tackle...
An ex-sailor by trade, now he's getting paid...
No vitamin C led him to scurvy
His sailor suit hasn't gone because it turns him on...
Rory's Fishing Tackle!
Rory's Fishing Tack-Tack-Tack-Tack-Tack...
A giant fish on the door (Rory's Fishing Tackle)
Of Rory's proud little store (Rory's Fishing Tackle)
Lures, reel, and more (Rory's Fishing Tackle)
Are found at Rory's Fishing Tackle...
But one wet day it went wrong (Rory's fishing Tackle)
The Gardai, they came along (Rory's fishing tackle)
Shut it down, so we wrote a song (Rory's fishing tackle)
For Rory's Fishing Tackle...

City Fishing in Dublin on River Dodder and Grand Canal Catching a Pike
Went out fishing for the first time since last year. Caught nothing on the Dodder so I wandered down to the canal and got a nice pike. I tried a jelly worm then switched to a little spinner. Then the little spinner got stuck in a f***ing tree so I had to put a bigger spinner on.

Rory in Ireland: Episode 1
In 2016, CrossFit Games host Rory McKernan traveled to Ireland to get to know the CrossFit community on the Emerald Isle. His journey was filled with fitness, food, fun and kinship.
“The point of this trip was to meet as many affiliates as we possibly could,” McKernan says, “plug into their communities, learn who they were, learn what they were doing and how they were changing the world.”
First stops included CrossFit Navan and CrossFit Green. The 2016 Liftoff was underway at the time, and McKernan had a chance to lift with Kris Simsons, 2015’s sixth-place Games finisher in the Teenage Boys 14-15 Division.
“I’m thinking that my brute strength can get me through,” McKernan says of lifting with then-17-year-old Simsons. “I was wrong.”
McKernan also attended a formal awards show in which CrossFit athletes from all over Ireland recognized each other’s accomplishments in the CrossFit Games Open.
Ireland, McKernan says, lived up to its reputation as an amazing, generous and welcoming place with plenty of beer—if you’re into that sort of thing.
