Rosemary Shrager reveals incredible weight loss after transforming lifestyle – with the help of a VERY unusual ingredient

The TV chef and Ladette to Lady star has shed 14cm from her waist and gone down three dress sizes after decades of yo-yo dieting
She's always been open about her weight struggles , admitting in the past she felt fat and ugly.

But nothing could have prepared TV chef Rosemary Shrager from being told she was morbidly obese on national television.

Now, one year on from the shocking diagnosis during her stint in India on The Real Marigold Hotel, Rosemary has transformed her lifestyle – and this time she says it's for good.

After decades of yo-yo dieting, the 65 year old has revealed the bizarre ingredient behind her incredible weight loss – prunes.
She spends her days rustling up rich and delicious food, but the Tunbridge Wells cookery school owner insists she adores the dehydrated plums and can't get enough of her new diet.

I have been on every single diet you can imagine in life, she says.

To me, when you say diet you say failure. So it's all about mindset. I have been big forever and I have never found something that I can sustain.
I love prunes – this is not a wind up! I seriously love them, and I have always loved them, and I eat them like sweets.

I've lost two dress sizes and I feel a lot better in myself – my skin is clearer, my arthritis has eased, everything is better.

But the Ladette to Lady star doesn't want to become a victim to the scales and become obsessive with her weight and dress size. For her, it's all about feeling better in herself.
I don't weigh myself, she insists.

And I'm never going to be thin.

Her unusual new diet is based on the California Prunes Eating Plan, devised by dietitian Jennette Higgs.

The so-called 'Prune-It' regime is underpinned by University of Liverpool research showing dieters who ate prunes as a snack lost more weight, as they help make people feel fuller for longer.
I have found that my tastes have changed, Rosemary reveals.

Prunes give you that sweetness if you need a little bit of a hit – I don't have my fizzy drinks at all anymore!

I had some bread the other day and I was in agony. Your body becomes attuned and that's when your mindset changes and you automatically start to lose weight.

And now she hopes her recent weight loss will spur her to become even slimmer – and completely change her whole lifestyle.
I hope to start exercising now, she says.

I've got a plan in action – but I am naturally lazy so it's going to be tough.

What I've got to do is find something I enjoy.

I have already made so many changes – I don't even look at a pork pie anymore.

My wardrobe goes down to a size 16. I haven't been a size 16 forever but I would like to go down to a size 18. I refuse to weigh myself but I have already lost 14cm.

I used to be quite frightened to walk to the shops, because I was worried I wasn't going to get back.

That's how bad I was. But I walk everywhere now.
