In a career spanning over 40 years it seems inconceivable that they have never performed at London’s most famous venue The Royal Albert Hall. That changed in June 2016 as the band appeared with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra adding some a classical vibe to hits like These Dreams, Alone and What about Love, they also reinvented old favourites like Dreamboat Annie and Magic Man while rocking the house to the rafters with Crazy on You and Barracuda. This very special show was most certainly not just nostalgia as the band and their extra 68 backing musicians also played tracks from their 16th album Beautiful Broken.

The Last Night of The Proms - Royal Albert Hall
Many people's perception of the Proms is taken from the Last Night, although this concert is very different from the others. It usually takes place on the second Saturday in September, and is broadcast in the UK on BBC Radio 3, and on BBC2 (first half) and BBC1 (second half). The concert is traditionally in a lighter, 'winding-down' vein, with popular classics being followed by a series of British patriotic pieces in the second half of the concert. This sequence traditionally includes Edward Elgar's Pomp & Circumstance March No. 1 (to part of which Land of Hope and Glory is sung) and Henry Wood's Fantasia on British Sea Songs, followed by Thomas Arne's Rule, Britannia!. However, the Fantasia did not feature from 2008 to 2011,[citation needed] though Rule, Britannia! has retained its place in the programme in its own right. The full Fantasia re-appeared in 2012, but was again absent from the 2013 concert. The concert concludes with Hubert Parry's Jerusalem (a setting of a poem by William Blake), and the British national anthem, in recent years in an arrangement by Benjamin Britten. The repeat of the Elgar March at the Last Night can be traced to the spontaneous audience demand for a double encore at its premiere at a 1901 Proms concert. The closing sequence of the second half became fully established in 1954 during Sargent's tenure as chief conductor of the Proms. The Prommers have made a tradition of singing Auld Lang Syne after the end of the concert, but it was not included in the programme until 2015

Royal Albert Hall London - Places to Visit in London
There are lots of beautiful places and attractions in London that tourists could visit and most of them are historical places that could inform people with different stories carried from a long period of time. Royal Albert Hall in London is one of these places which is now undergoing some restorations.
Royal Albert Hall is astonishing from the inside as much as it is from the outside. This is actually a concert hall located in South Kensington, London, and it has been holding the prom concerts since a very long period of time, from 1941. Getting inside Royal Albert Hall is mesmerizing because once you step inside and see how huge it is, you will realize the reason it has been holding all those concerts; it actually has a capacity of 5,272 seats inside.
The story of this Royal Hall started back in 1871 when Queen Victoria opened it, and since that time, it has become one of the most famous, treasured and most distinctive buildings in the UK. Lots of leading artists from different performance genres appeared on the stage of the Royal Albert Hall, and even now it holds most of the important and notable concerts in London and the British culture; each year it hosts more than 390 shows in the main auditorium, including classical, rock and pop concerts, ballet, opera, film screenings with live orchestra, sports, award ceremonies, school and community events, charity performances and banquets, and all this comes apart from the concerts and events that happen in the non auditorium spaces.
The name of the hall goes back to Prince Albert since Queen Victoria considered it a memorial for him since it was build six years after his death, it was actually supposed to be called Central Hall of Arts and Sciences but ended up with this name. It is part of the other memorial built for Prince Albert and which is known as Albert Memorial that is found in Kensington Gardens, but today they are both separated by Kensington Gore (
The interesting thing about this hall is the food and drink which is offered there in the food restaurants that are open there at least two hours before the auditorium events; so if you are attending an event there, you could also get the chance to spend a good day there and have your meal before watching the show or the event.
If you are going to visit the Royal Albert Hall in London then you should also pass by Kensington Gardens ( which will mean that you are going to spot Albert Memorial there and you will also get the chance to visit and check Kensington Palace on the way (
There are different things for one to visit in London, but if you are searching for a place where you could at the same time attend a show or something like that then you could also go to the National Theatre and check what is there that you could find yourself interested in and attend (
Generally speaking, London is filled with lots of touristic attractions that one will visit during the stay in London and these attractions include the old buildings which will take the breath away with their look from the outside. From those which we personally love how they look like and at the same time love how they look in general, there is St. Paul's Cathedral that is known to be the second highest in the UK ( we also love the Houses of Parliament ( and the Royal Court of Justice ( there is also Buckingham Palace ( and of course we should mention Big Ben and the beauty of this clock tower found in London since a long period of time (
In addition to the historical attractions and the touristic places in the city of London, there are other places which those coming to London choose to go to even though they are not historical, such as those who love to visit Harry Potter Shop in Platform 9 3/4 to take photos and experience all the locations they have seen in the movies (
London, the city of fog, always call out for people from around the world to come and visit it for the history it carries, the beautiful buildings it has and all the different themed shops it has which people are crazy about - some people even visit this city more than once and are always looking forward to go back to it.
If you have the chance, you should definitely choose a concert or any other event to attend in the Royal Albert Hall during your visit to London, because you will love the whole experience and you will fall in love with the atmosphere of the place as a whole.

The Freemasons Tercentenary Celebration [FULL VIDEO STREAMED]
THE LONDON EVENT CELEBRATING 300 YEARS OF THE UNITED GRAND LODGE OF ENGLAND WILL BE HELD AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL IN SOUTH KENSINGTON ON 31ST OF OCTOBER 2017.
The gala event will be the culmination of the many varied events taking place throughout the Provinces and Districts during that year.
The Royal Albert Hall will accommodate up to 5,000 masons and their partners, with 2,500 invited to attend a dinner afterwards at Battersea Park.
This gala event marked 300 years since four lodges met at the Goose and Gridiron Tavern in St Paul’s Churchyard on St John’s Day, 24th June 1717, to form the Premier Grand Lodge. The spectacle was also streamed live to audiences from around the world, including UGLE’s headquarters at Freemasons’ Hall.
With Grand Lodge having been opened and called off in a convenient room, the procession of Grand Officers entered the Hall, before the Grand Master, MW Bro HRH The Duke of Kent, took his place in the Queens’s Box. He was accompanied by the Pro Grand Master MW Bro Peter Lowndes, Deputy Grand Master RW Bro Jonathan Spence and Assistant Grand Master RW Bro Sir David Wootton.
He was also joined by a number of special guests, which included RW Bro HRH Prince Michael of Kent, VW Bro HM King Tutu II of Ashanti and RW Bro HE John Kufuor, Senior Grand Warden.
The audience was wowed by a theatrical extravaganza showcasing the history and heritage of Freemasonry and featuring a cast of renowned actors including Sir Derek Jacobi, Samantha Bond and Sanjeev Bhaskar. The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra provided the musical accompaniment against the backdrop of a colossal 55ft gold Square and Compasses and dramatic light show incorporating the ‘All Seeing Eye’.
After the performance, the Grand Master was processed on to the stage and all the Rulers were seated in their normal thrones. The Deputy Grand Master then read a letter of loyal greetings sent to Her Majesty The Queen and the reply received sending ‘warm good wishes to you all for a most successful event’.
The Grand Master, as Permanent Master of the three Time Immemorial Lodges (Lodge of Antiquity No.2, Royal Somerset House and Inverness Lodge No.IV, and Lodge of Fortitude and Old Cumberland No.12), then called upon his three Deputy Masters and was presented with the Volume of the Sacred Law, the Square and Compasses and the Wren Maul.
Other highlights included the return of the Soane Ark – the Ark of the Masonic Covenant – as the Deputy Grand Master announced that following 30 years in the making, a replica had been made to the original design. This was brought onstage where it was dedicated by the Grand Master.
The finale was the most rousing singing of the National Anthem, before the procession of Grand Officers retired from the Hall.
Following the meeting, Grand Lodge was called back on in a convenient room, and this Especial Meeting to celebrate UGLE's Tercentenary was closed.
With places limited, it is currently planned for the whole event to be streamed online.
