With amazing views, sea-stacks, piles of driftwood, tide-pools and miles of coast line to explore they are popular for beach combing, backpacking, and hiking along the Pacific Ocean, and less for sunbathing.

In this, the second episode shot while on holidays on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, USA, I shoot at Ruby Beach on the Pacific coast of the peninsula. After a great day of shooting waterfalls around Lake Quinault (see previous episode we arrived at Ruby Beach in the late afternoon just as the sea mist rolled in preventing any semblance of colour at sunset. However, it was a chance to look for compositions that could be used to make black and white images emphasising tone, shape and texture.

We had a great trip exploring Ruby Beach, Rialto Beach and Second Beach on our family vacation to Olympic National Park. We were able to see some really incredible Tide Pools. These are some of the best areas for Tide Pools on the Washington Coast.
If your going to Rialto Beach make sure to make the trip down to Hole In The Wall. The best tide pools were down at this location. It's a bit of a hike, but well worth it. To see us on this hike, check out the video below.
We also backpacked into Second Beach which was quite the experience and well worth the trouble. Check out our adventure there below!
Make sure to understand and study the tides when traveling to Olympic National Park and the Washington Coast. This will help you increase your chances and knowing what time to visit beaches with the tide out. This will reveal some of the best tide pools the Washington Coast has to offer!

A man spends a week in Olympic National Park, Washington, to discover its immense wonders. This National Park is special. Olympic is home to high mountain ranges, lush green rainforests, intense crashing shorelines and beautiful beaches. Olympic National Park has everything, and I want to show it to you. I traveled in my van (vanlife) through Washington, and decided to spend a week traveling all around this massive National Park. It has since become one of my favorites. Washington Coast | Ruby Beach, Lake Quinualt, Seabrook, & Long Beach
Our road trip along the Washington Coast and Olympic National Park with our awesome Korean Jindo dog, exploring the unique beaches of Ruby, Seabrook, Long Beach, and Lake Quinualt.
TOP TRAVEL TIPS:
*The Washington Coast is beautiful, but it is difficult to go when it's sunny, so try to go when sun is predicted in the forecast.
*Long Beach has much to offer with Cape Disappointment State Park and Beards Hallow- definitely could be done with this trip.
*Cannon Beach and the Oregon Coast is less than an hour away from Long Beach, and La Push where Second Beach is located is less than an hour away from Ruby Beach, so this drive could become an epic road trip if there is enough time.
*We left from Seattle and explored all of the stops in one day, then stayed in Long Beach, probably the nicest ocean sandy beach in Washington.
