Hall Of Heroes Super Hero Museum - Elkhart Indiana
Hall of Heroes is the only Super Hero and Comic Book Museum in the world preserving the history of Comic book heroes. We cover the entire 75 year history of Super Heroes in Comics, Toys, Film and Animation. We have movie props used in Film, Television as well as an extensive toy collection and animation cels.
Let's Visit Elkhart, IN
Located along the banks of the St. Joseph River and Elkhart River, Elkhart is a nice city with quite a nice downtown with many stores, restaurants, and theaters. Elkhart is easily accessible by the nearby Indiana Toll Road as well as the Amtrak station immediately south of downtown. I check out the downtown area as well as the riverwalk and some parks along the two rivers.

We've been fortunate lately to be involved in a couple urban transformations, and what the Ruthmere Foundation has planned for the Havilah Beardsley House is certainly going to be exciting and worthwhile to the community. This new video is an upbeat look at their fundraising goals: to restore, interpret, and open this house as a public cultural experience.

The town of Elkhart, Indiana is a lively riverside community that blends its rich past with modern touches. The beautifully renovated Lerner Theatre is the cornerstone for the downtown's Arts & Entertainment District with eclectic eateries, shops, pubs and museums. And, the nearby RiverWalk links waterside parks with pedestrian friendly city streets.
You'll see the historic Ruthmere Mansion - where you can tour the 1908 building that was once the cornerstone of high society in Elkhart. You can also see parts of the Midwest Museum of Art. The video also highlights some great dining establishments in Elkhart like McCarthy's. Another surprise in the middle of Amish Country is the historic Lerner Theater. The recently restored and expanded 1920s-era movie house turned performing arts complex features a 1,700-seat theatre, flexible banquet hall, classroom space, backstage tours and more.

John Kistner lived in Havilah Beardsley House in the 1940s, between the ages of 3 and 14. In the interview (conducted by Ruthmere's Executive Director, Bill Firstenberger) John discusses his family's renovations in the home and many memories.
