Reynolds Polymer Technology, Inc. Sea Life Michigan
RPT was proud to play a part in the latest edition to the Sea Life family located in Auburn Hills, Michigan at the Great Lakes Crossing Outlets shopping center. The 35,000 square foot facility, now the largest aquarium in the state, holds a total of 150,000 gallons of water. Within its colorfully lit depths there are some 5,000 specimens of underwater life to delight visitors. The ample variety of creatures includes rays, sharks, eels, lionfish, and lobster to name only a few.
The largest viewing area at Sea Life is the nearly 30-foot-long underwater tunnel that takes visitors inside the main tank. The tunnel is comprised of three separate sections of R-Cast® that were value-engineered to perform visually as one—while costing significantly less. The completed feature offers crystal-clear views of the rays, blacktip sharks, and hammerhead sharks that so many come to see.
The facility also contains an eleven-foot-long, seven-foot-high demi-tunnel that was designed to provide concave views inside the main tank, allowing for clear impressions of the shipwreck and sunken Mayan statue features. Such details make Sea Life a true experience, providing for guests to see the animals interact within a wide variety of environmental accents.

⚠???? DISCLAIMER ????⚠
Please remember that these mermaids are seasoned and trained Professional Mermaids who are very comfortable being around humans and swimming in a confined space. Although it may look like they are simply sitting still and looking pretty, they are doing much more than that! Being a mermaid in a tank is DANGEROUS, DIFFICULT and is NOT for inexperienced mermaids. There is a lot of behind-the-scenes work that is done (along with trade secrets) that keep operations running smoothly, keep mermaids and mertenders safe, and that make for a magical experience for everyone involved. This kind of work is tough, does result in bodily harm and is not for those new to the industry.
On my channel (The Magic Crafter) I always encourage people to follow their dreams. HOWEVER... the best things do take hard work, practice, experience and time to happen. While it may be tempting to try jumping into things such as Tank Work, since it seems very glamorous, I HIGHLY advise against this unless you are a very experienced mermaid or merman. Tank work is physically demanding and exhausting, damaging to the body AND your tail and it is DANGEROUS. With that being said, you are in the water behind glass. If you still have issues looking natural underwater, people will see that and it can ruin the magic. This is not for those who are shy or afraid of performing in front of large audiences either, as you will be performing in front of a large audience and interacting with many different people. For your safety and for the sake of keeping the magic alive, I advise against pursuing tank work until you are beyond ready.
When you feel that you are 100% ready to work in a tank, please consult your local Mermaid Pod that is in charge of the tank or that works at the festival/ event with the tank. If you contact the festival or event directly (for tank work or ANY mermaid work that already has mer performers), that is considered very rude in the mercommunity... you won't be making very many friends if you steal work from other merms. ????

LEGOLAND ///: Auburn Hills, Michigan
Let's just say this week's adventure to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan, in Auburn Hills lived up to Jonah's high expectations. We had a blast at Great Lakes Crossings Outlets before even checking out one of Michigan's coolest family attractions.
We enjoyed two rides; Kingdom Quest (where Jonah was pumped to have his own blaster) and Merlin's Apprentice Ride - my new favorite Harry Potter-eque style attraction- where the faster we peddled, the higher we were able to go.
We LOVED seeing Detroit Lego Miniland. All the local landmarks were meticulously crafted and the entire exhibit was interactive so the boys enjoyed it too. The coolest part of the room- a tribute to Aretha Franklin!
We built and raced lego cars, made our own scarecrow in the Creative Workshop, tested out towers on the Earthquake Tables, had a dance party in the Underwater Quest, got a quick bite at the Lego Cafe (which was surprisingly reasonably priced) checked out their two play zones; Duplo Farm for Jude (babies, young toddlers) and City Play Zone for Jonah.
The 4D Cinema was super awesome. It was the first time Jude has seen a movie in the theater and it was hilarious watching Jonah try to touch the characters that were popping out at him.
We ended our day with a trip to the Lego Store. They had everything! We were impressed that it wasn't all high-end lego sets. There was something there for all budgets. Jonah got two little sets and it was less than $15!
Thumbs up if we were able to bring a smile to your face!
Thank you so much for watching our adorkable family explore. We would love suggestions for adventures, or just a chance to say hello!
