Tenerife 2012. Dolphin and Whale safari.
Here I am on dolphin watching on a beautiful and warm day. We had a little captain on the Eden Catamaran, Pablo ( captain ) and his son Ubay, who navigated very safe, but became tired and took a nap ... :-) Unfortunately, we did not see any dolphins, but several pilot whales swimming around the boat. A lovely day on the sea!

Watching Whales and Dolphins in Tenerife, Spain
During this vacation I made this incredible trip to watch whales and dolphins. I did not expect much and had a feel I should not do it. Whale watching has been under critics in Tenerife since population is going back. Compared to the dolphine watching in Bali where hundred of boat chased a small group of dolphines this was really exceptable. We were almost alone. The pilot whales were sleeping and the engine was shut down. We were just floating. The dolphines seemed to love the boat and were following us with amazing speed for quite a while. Enjoy!
But keep in mind we have to protect the earth and its wonderful wildlife.
Also watch my other video of Dolpine Watching as a bad example:

TENERIFE Whales & Dolphins

Pilot whale (griend)
Pilot whales are cetaceans belonging to the genus Globicephala. The two extant species are the long-finned pilot whale (G. melas) and the short-finned pilot whale (G. macrorhynchus). They are among the largest of the oceanic dolphins, exceeded in size only by the killer whale. They and other large members of the dolphin family are also known as blackfish.
Adult long-finned pilot whales reach a body length of approximately 6.5 m, with males being 1 m longer than females. Their body mass reaches up to 1,300 kg in females and up to 2,300 kg in males. For short-finned pilot whales, adult females reach a body length of about 5.5 m, while males reach 7.2 m and may weigh up to 3,200 kg.
