The Greek Islands can be tricky to reach without a yacht, even with a boat having sailing experience, or the ability to create your own cruise itinerary with managing which islands to visit.... BUT, Greece is such an astonishingly beautiful place that we knew we wanted to get our cruise on to check them out. Luckily Med Experienced launched a few new tours this year, we picked the Sail Greece itinerary and made our way to Corfu. Here's a link to the Med Experience trip we took, we loved it!
Greek Island cruises are pretty common, but often on much larger yachts or ships, that can't get into the small islands. More important to us, those bigger cruise ships wouldn't allow us to actually swim, jump off the boat or be more flexible with the cruise in general - flexibility is nice to have on any sailing with weather!

All meals aboard the ship are included.
During your 5- to 10-day voyage, you will live aboard a large sailboat in a double-occupancy private cabin with your own restroom and shower. All vessels are equipped with a refrigerator and freezer. Larger vessels will also have TV and air conditioning. On average, you will sail for about 2–3 hours per day, so there is no need to worry about sea sickness. We want to maximize the amount of time you spend each day enjoying the beaches, pristine waters, and fabulous food of the British Virgin Islands. We also provide a Chef to make it a hassle-free experience.
In British Virgin Islands, you will explore: Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, Jost Van Dyke, Guana Island, Norman Island, Cooper Island and many other gorgeous Caribbean islands. At Empire Sailing, we combine sailing with hiking, snorkeling, and visiting national parks and bars/restaurants. Your experience is completely customizable.

Sample Itinerary - BVI:
Day 1: Depart Tortola for “The Bath” on Virgin Gorda. Snorkeling and exploring the Wonder of The World. Docking at the “Bitter End” Yacht Club.
Day 2: Depart Yacht Club for Anegada, with countless beaches to choose from.
Day 3: Depart Anegada and sail to Monkey Point at Guana Island for snorkeling. Docking at Cane Garden Bay.
Day 4: Depart Cane Garden Bay to Jost Van Dyke to explore Nature's Jacuzzi. Return to Great Harbor for bars and restaurants.
Day 5: Depart Great Harbor and sail to White Bay for the pristine beaches and friendly Soggy Dollar bar. Docking at Soper's Hole marina in Tortola.
Day 6: Depart Tortola to return the yacht by noon. Take a ferry to St. Thomas at 2:30 pm and fly out.

Our Greek Yacht Tour | Sailing The Ionian with Medsailors
Our week of sailing the Ionian islands in Greece has begun here in the beautiful isle of Corfu.
Before managing to actually leave Corfu we spent an extra night in the port from some high winds, but that's fine as we got to have an incredible dinner at a local Greek restaurant and in full Medsailors tradition - pretended it was someone's birthday.
The next day we hit the sea as we made our way to the tip of Corfu to Agios Stefanos where we spent the night.

The best beaches in the Greek Islands? Clearest water in the world? Paxos & Antipaxos in Greece are definitely THE most... ⬇ More Below ✈ Our 220 page guide on how to travel non-stop —
There might be 6,000 Greek islands, but Paxos and Anitpaxos islands are world renowned as having some of the best beaches and the clearest water. There's likely lots of beaches and islands, let alone Greek Islands, that make those kind of claims though so when we jumped on our Med Experience Sail Greece trip we were keen to see for ourselves.
We spent a few days sailing around Paxos island and Antipaxos island, including some in the next vlog as well, and can definitely confirm one thing — they are home to THE clearest water we've seen anywhere in the world. Previously that title was held for the Phillippines or Samoa, but these little Greek island paradises have taken the lead.
In terms of the best beaches, that's a trickier one - because we were sailing we often didnt go onto the beach. From what we saw though, would have to say the water is better than the beaches themselves. Still beautiful, but not in our top 3.
Either way - getting to Paxos Island and Antipaxos island needs to be on your to do list! We can highly recommend Med Experience and the Sail Greece trip we took if it fits your style, we loved it!

Sailing the Greek Islands: Paros, Sifnos, Milos (Greece - Part 1)
We sailed across the Cyclades Islands in Greece and this is the first of two videos of our trip.
We started our sailing trip through the Greek islands on the Island of Paros. From there, we went to the island of Sifnos and the island of Milos. We did a brief stop in a cove on the small island of Kimolos. On the island of Milos, we stopped by the Sykia Cave and spent the night in the cove of Kleftiko.
This video about our sailing in the Greek Islands is the first of two videos. The link at the end of the video will take you to our second video of our sailing of the Greek islands where you can discover other islands in the Cyclades.

Greece: Greek navy chases off Turkish Coast Guard harassing Greek fisherman
Tensions flared between Greece and Turkey in the Aegean Sea, Friday, when a Greek navy gunship confronted a Turkish Coast Guard patrol boat that had threatened to arrest a Greek fisherman sailing in Greek territorial waters off the islands of Oinousses.

Aegina, Poros & Hydra | 3 Greek Islands in 1 Day Cruise
Welcome on board to get to Aegina, Poros and Hydra islands, all three islands in one day!
Sail with me first to the biggest island on our journey in the Saronic Gulf, Aegina (in Greek: Αίγινα) island. We are going to stroll around the small beautiful harbour city, buy the world famous pistachios and see some cats by the animal protection station.
After a delicious buffet on board, we sail to Greek island-pair called Poros (in Greek: Πόρος). There, we are going to visit the famous landmark of the island, shop some local products from a boutique shop and have a walk around the harbour under the blue sky.
Last, we are going to visit Hydra (in Greek: Ύδρα) island. Hydra port is a picturesque crescent-shaped small harbour town where we are going to relax after a long day. Why? Because since by law, cars and motorcycles are not allowed on this Greek island. Mules, donkeys and water taxis provide public transportation in this island. So, we are walking around to see the breathtaking views and climb up to visit the statue of Andreas Miaoulis, admiral during the Greek War of Independence.
After a whole day on the sea and visiting three Greek islands in one day, it´s time to head back to Athens. But wait, not before we have a quick Greek traditional dance party on the cruise boat.

Charlie takes his first solo flight at 9 years old and joins us for a week, we borrow a dinghy from our friends, visit Nidri Waterfalls and head over to Little Vathi on Meganissi for some fishing :-)
