ABOUT HELENA AND BUCK FROM THAT NEWPORT SHOW Buck and Helena from That Newport Show are a couple of old punks who survived what they call “the toddler years” (plus a few extra). As they slowly regain their sanity, they are once again venturing out into the world to get their party on. They may be a bit slower these days, but they are also a lot wiser. And honestly, a lot more fun. Buck Harris Buck’s new to the Rhody game, but not even close to new when it comes to having a good time. He’s charming, smart, and handsome. If you’ve got a party going on, Buck’s the guy who will make it fun. But don’t let his good looks and charm fool you. He is wicked smaaht, too. When he isn’t tooling around Newport with his honey, Buck has a serious job as Vice President for an economic development group that finances and supports small businesses in Rhode Island. Buck has two beautiful, horse-addicted daughters of his own. With the benefit of hindsight and a little encouragement from Helena, he is completely redefining what it means to be a grown-up. (Hint: It’s way more fun than it used to be.) Helena Bee Born and raised just north of NYC, Helena is a fireball of Italian pride mixed with a good dose of Yankee practicality. Now a full-time Rhode Island resident, Helena’s adventures have mostly been on horseback. Yeah, she’s one of those people. In fact, she co-founded the #1 equestrian network in the world, the Horse Radio Network. As a veteran podcaster, she also hosts HRN’s super popular Stable Scoop Radio Show. When not behind the mic recording shows, Helena tends to her two horses, a 13-year-old whipper snapper of a kid, and everything that farm life demands. NEWPORT TIPS & FAVORITES Newport makes a great long weekend getaway if you are in driving or train distance If coming from further away, plan to stay a week Summer is the main tourist season in Newport, but it is also beautiful in May, June and September In the winter you can see the mansions decorated for Christmas and enjoy skating at the Newport Skating Center Best beaches: First Beach has plenty of amenities for families Second Beach in Middletown Goosewing Beach in Little Compton -- secret beach run by a nature conservancy Top things to do: Sailing charter on the Narragansett Bay Sweet Berry Farm Newport Vineyards Newport Polo Newport Mansions -- The Breakers has a great family tour Tennis Hall of Fame Off-the-beaten path: Jamestown, RI -- Beavertail State Park Bristol, RI - 4th of July Parade Where to stay in Newport with kids: Newport Marriott -- nautical themed, kid-friendly, great location on the water Hotel Viking -- historic hotel right in the downtown area with a great spa Atlantic Beach Hotel -- right across from Second Beach with suites Where to eat in Newport: Clarke Cooke House The Red Parrot The Black Pearl Midtown Oyster Bar BEST PLACE TO TAKE FAMILY PHOTO Helena recommends taking a photo on the Cliff Walk, where you can see the Mansions and the Atlantic Ocean. From the Mountains to the Sea: The Anne & Frank Warner Collection
From the Mountains to the Sea is a two-hour live presentation with multimedia, focusing on the Anne and Frank Warner collection, one of the great treasures in the American Folklife Center archives, containing a wealth of material collected by the husband-and-wife team of folklorists from 1938 to 1966, as they traveled through rural America in search of old songs. This important collection contains such seminal field recordings as North Carolina farmer Frank Proffitt's rendition of the murder ballad Tom Dooly. This field recording was adapted and recorded in 1958 by The Kingston Trio, whose version became a number one hit, won the very first Grammy in country music, and set off the folk boom of the 1960s. Frank Warner was also a popular folksinger, and the Warners' sons, Jeff and Gerret, got their start as musicians backing up their dad on his recordings and performances. They have been renowned performing musicians for more than 50 years. Career musicians and filmmakers, they created this two-hour live multimedia presentation about the Warner collection, featuring not only their own performances, but also the voices of the singers recorded by their parents across rural America, along with corresponding photographs of the tradition bearers and their homes. It is full of the warmth of the Warners and the country wit of their new friends. Jeff and Gerret grew up listening to the songs and stories of the traditional singers their parents met during their folksong collecting trips, and they offer valuable insights into the lives and adventures of one of the nation's most eminent families of folksong collectors. In so doing, they contribute immensely to our understanding of the Warner collection, one of the most important in the American Folklore Center archives. The event was co-sponsored by the Folklore Society of Greater Washington.

Kayak NJ Lake Hopatcong Bertrand Island to Byram Cove 120515
Kayak NJ Lake Hopatcong Bertrand Island to Byram Cove
Perfect paddling conditions especially for December. Blue skies, calm waters and bright sunshine made for a fantastic day on the water. Down in Henderson Cove I spotted a pair of eagles gliding high above me. While filming the eagles my shot was interrupted by the buzz of a remote control sea plane buzzing through my shot. Just as I saw it pass through my cameras lens I looked up to see it crash land into the lake..pontoons flying off in the opposite direction of the plane. Talk about being in the right place...I began to paddle toward the wreckage but father and son were already to the rescue. I could hear dad reassuring the young lad that they could rebuild it. Exciting moment captured on the water.
Some amazing spots to explore on the lake. Very cool spot on Cow Tongue point going into Byram Cove. Lady Liberty is also on the lake. Great day! Couldn't ask for better especially in December.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Richmond () is the capital of the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. It is the center of the Richmond Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) and the Greater Richmond Region. Richmond was incorporated in 1742 and has been an independent city since 1871.
As of the 2010 census, the city's population was 204,214; in 2016, the population was estimated to be 223,170, making Richmond the fourth-most populous city in Virginia. The Richmond Metropolitan Area has a population of 1,260,029, the third-most populous metro in the state.
Richmond is located at the fall line of the James River, 44 miles (71 km) west of Williamsburg, 66 miles (106 km) east of Charlottesville, 100 miles (160 km) east of Lynchburg and 98 miles (158 km) south of Washington, D.C. Surrounded by Henrico and Chesterfield counties, the city is located at the intersections of Interstate 95 and Interstate 64, and encircled by Interstate 295 and Virginia State Route 288. Major suburbs include Midlothian to the southwest, Chesterfield to the south, Varina to the southeast, Sandston to the east, Glen Allen to the north and west, Short Pump to the west and Mechanicsville to the northeast.
The site of Richmond had been an important village of the Powhatan Confederacy, and was briefly settled by English colonists from Jamestown in 1609, and in 1610–1611. The present city of Richmond was founded in 1737. It became the capital of the Colony and Dominion of Virginia in 1780, replacing Williamsburg. During the Revolutionary War period, several notable events occurred in the city, including Patrick Henry's Give me liberty or give me death speech in 1775 at St. John's Church, and the passage of the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom written by Thomas Jefferson. During the American Civil War, Richmond served as the second and permanent capital of the Confederate States of America. The city entered the 20th century with one of the world's first successful electric streetcar systems. The Jackson Ward neighborhood is a national hub of African-American commerce and culture.
Richmond's economy is primarily driven by law, finance, and government, with federal, state, and local governmental agencies, as well as notable legal and banking firms, located in the downtown area. The city is home to both the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, one of 13 United States courts of appeals, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, one of 12 Federal Reserve Banks. Dominion Energy and WestRock, Fortune 500 companies, are headquartered in the city, with others in the metropolitan area.
