Dedicated in 1843, Father Damian (Saint) of Molokai was ordained to the preisthood here in 1864. The video was shot during the Midnight Mass Closing Hymn, which was played on a 1934 Aeolian-Skinner Pipe Organ. December 24th, 2008

St. Andrew's Priory grads ascend fountain wall
Forty jubilant St. Andrew's Priory graduates emerged from the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Honolulu on Sunday evening, June 5, to carry on a colorful tradition.
They ascended the walls of the churchyard fountain, joined hands and sang their class song. This year it was Time of My Life. Occasionally in past years the grads have given into the temptation to jump into the fountain, but not this time.
All Priory grads will go on to four-year colleges. Valedictorian was ena Yuko Hayama.
The seniors were offered $3.8 million in scholarships, a total that surpasses last year's class of 61 grads.
There were actually 41 grads in the class of 2011. But one, Connie Liu, the two-time state science and engineering fair math champion, could not join her classmates because she had to return to Taiwan last week.
Priory is Hawaii's oldest all-girl school, founded in 1867,

Places to see in ( Oahu - USA ) Downtown Honolulu
Downtown is Hawaii’s bustling political and business hub, known for its skyscrapers and the lavish Iolani Palace, a restored 19th-century royal residence with original furnishings. The Hawaii State Art Museum shows local contemporary art. On Honolulu Harbor, Aloha Tower Marketplace has sea views from the 1920s Aloha Tower, as well as a large waterfront stage, a concert pavilion and waterfront restaurants.
Downtown Honolulu is the current historic, economic, governmental, and central part of Honolulu—bounded by Nuʻuanu Stream to the west, Ward Avenue to the east, Vineyard Boulevard to the north, and Honolulu Harbor to the south—situated within the City of Honolulu. Both modern and historic buildings and complexes, many of the latter declared National Historic Landmarks on the National Register of Historic Places.

Priory In the City students host RGB evening
Students in the Priory In the City program hosted an open event Thursday night dedicated to their hero, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
They invited fellow students, alumnae and the public to a panel discussion and a free screening of the documentary, RBG, in Davies Hall at the Cathedral of St. Andrew. Among those in the audience was 1969 Priory graduate Colleen Hanabusa.
Women empowerment is more important today than ever and the Notorious RBG is a great symbol of that, said panel facilitator Stephanie Albana, an 11th grade admirer of Ginsburg.
She was impacting politics and law in a day and age when women especially couldn't do any of that. So her origin story and how she rose up as a woman to become a Supreme Court Justice is so inspiring to me...
Two 12th graders and an alumna made up a panel that discussed the Notorious RBG and ways they engage in the civic process.
Emily Latimer (2009) discussed her work with a public relations firm that is helping to promote the Kakou app. The Kaou website says the app ... makes it easy for users to engage with elected officials and participate in the legislative process.
Olivia Stoetzer (2019) said she learned to engage in the civic process while interning with Hawaii State Senator Brian Taniguchi.
Felisa Hollenbeak (2019) talked about how she helped register voters.
Attendees won RBG souvenirs like dolls, tee shirts, pins, mugs and books for correctly answering trivia questions.
Marcie Herring, faculty director for Priory in the City and coordinator of the RBG event, said she wanted to make more students and their families aware of how the three branches of government work together and to inspire students with the work of Ginsburg and other women pioneers who overcame obstacles to contribute to our democracy.
