Despite the number of doves flying around, I was about to successfully fly my drone and did a Point of interest shot of this old majestic church on the hills of Liliw, Laguna, Philippines.

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH- Liliw, Laguna
The church is under the advocation of St. Juan Bautista, of stone and brick as also the casa parochial. In this church the image of the seraphic doctor St. Bonaventure who in 1664 shed tears and sweated blood as shown in the recorded declarations under oath of Fr. Juan Pastor and 120 more witnesses in the diligences formed at the command of the Superior Orders
Many was intrigued by this saint, who was attracting a lot of devotees.

St. John the Baptist Parish Church (Filipino: Simbahan ng Parokya ng San Juan Bautista), also known as Liliw Church or Lilio Church, is one of the Roman Catholic churches in Liliw, Laguna, Philippines. Its feast is celebrated every August 29 known as the Martyrdom of St. John the Baptist. The church is known for its red bricked façade and baroque style architecture.

St. John the Baptist Parish Church in Camalig, Albay is one of the most beautiful and best-preserved churches in the province of Albay and the most visited centuries-old Spanish colonial churches because of its immense cultural and historical value.
LAGUNA: LILIW Church & NAGCARLAN Underground Cemetery
The Saint John The Baptist Parish (Lilio Church) in Liliw, Laguna was founded in 1605. The original church and convent were badly damaged in 1880 during a strong earthquake, while the reconstructed church was partly burned in 1898. During the Spanish regime, the name Liliw was used. When the Americans came, it became Lilio since the Americans found it easier to pronounce it than Liliw. However, on June 11, 1965, the municipal council passed Resolution No. 38-S-65 which declared Liliw as the official name and spelling of the town. This was to avoid confusion in pronouncing and spelling the name of the town.
THE NAGCARLAN UNDERGROUND CEMETERY in Laguna is the only one of its kind in the Philippines - it is a burial site located inside, or more accurately, beneath a church.
This church was built and designed for funeral mass in 1845 by the Franciscan priest Fr. Vicente Velloc. He also directed the construction of an underground graveyard 15 feet below the church. Flights of stairs lead down to the tombs; the oldest tomb was dated 1886.
It is considered a national historical landmark because its underground crypt was used as a secret meeting place in 1896 by Filipino revolutionaries or Katipuneros, members of the KKK. During the Filipino-American War, Filipino patriots also used the underground cemetery to formulate their battle plans and to seek shelter. It also became a safehouse for Filipino guerillas during World War II.
