Constanța old town (centrul vechi) filmed in 4K
The old town is a district of Constanța, without administrative existence. It corresponds to the extent of Constanta in 1900. It includes the Peninsula where all the ancient and medieval history of the city is concentrated. This is commonly considered to include the part of Constanța located between the Black Sea, Ferdinand Boulevard, Mihai Viteazu and Termelor Streets, a perimeter corresponding to the ancient city of Tomis, the Byzantine fortress Constantiniana and the Ottoman town Küstence.
One of the main tourist attractions of the old city is the statue dedicated to the Roman poet Publius Ovidius Naso, in Ovidiu Square (Piața Ovidiu). Here are The Great Mahmudiye Mosque (Moscheea Mare Mahmoud II) build by King Carol I in 1910 and the Museum of National History (Muzeul de Istorie Naţională şi Arheologie). Other landmarks are The Roman Mosaics (Edificiul Roman cu Mozaic), The Genoese Lighthouse (Farul Genovez), The Casino (Cazinoul), The House with Lions (Casa cu Lei), Romanian Navy Museum (Muzeul marinei române), and Hotel Palace. Most important churches are Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul (Catedrala Sfinții Apostoli Petru și Pavel) and the Greek Church Transfiguration (Metamorphosis).

Prezentare orga Buchholz (1839) a Bisericii Negre | Viv'Arte 2012

May 24, 2019 | For more than 450 years the Society of Jesus has embodied a global mission. From St. Francis Xavier through Pope Francis, Jesuits have traveled to the ends of the earth, seeking to spread the Gospel and advance intercultural and interreligious dialogue in the service of global humanity.
To celebrate the centennial of the Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS), Georgetown University hosted a conference in Rome on the past and future of Jesuit global engagement. As the oldest Catholic and Jesuit university in the United States, located in Washington, D.C., and open to students of all nations, cultures, and religions, Georgetown has always had a strong international orientation. The establishment of SFS in 1919 as the first school of international studies in the country marked an historic milestone. Through the vision and leadership of its founder, Fr. Edmund J. Walsh, S.J. (1885-1956), SFS developed the global horizon of the Society of Jesus in a new direction—the training of new generations of leaders in government, business, and civil society to grapple with the world’s most pressing challenges.

Solca, Suceava, Romania
Solca is a town in Suceava County, Bukovina, Romania, with a population around 2,500 inhabitants. Its name is derived from the river flowing through it, in turn derived from Slavic sol (salt) — in reference to the area's salty springs.
The town was first mentioned in a document issued by Moldavian Prince Alexandru cel Bun on January 15, 1418. In the following centuries, Solca became a market town for the surrounding area. Together with the rest of Bukovina, it became part of the Habsburg Monarchy, and was eventually part of Austria-Hungary; its fresh air helped established Solca as a renowned summer resort during the period.
During World War I, the town was the scene of Eastern Front battles between the armies of Austria-Hungary and the Russian Empire.
The town is celebrated for its monumental Romanian Orthodox church, the former Sts. Peter and Paul's Monastery (1613-1623), also knowns as Solca monastery, built by Voievod (Ruling Prince) Ştefan Tomşa II of Moldavia (1611-1614; 1621-1623), and closed by the Habsburgs in 1785, and a beer factory that ranks among the oldest in the country. Salt springs are located in the northern forested area. Solca is also relatively close to the Cacica salt mine and the Arbore church.
Franz Joseph I of Austria
Franz Joseph I or Francis Joseph I (German: Franz Joseph I., Hungarian: I. Ferenc József, Slovene: Franc Jožef I., Croatian: Franjo Josip I., 18 August 1830 – 21 November 1916) was Emperor of Austria and Apostolic King of Hungary from 1848 until his death in 1916. From 1 May 1850 until 24 August 1866 he was President of the German Confederation.
In December 1848, Emperor Ferdinand abdicated the throne as part of Ministerpräsident Felix zu Schwarzenberg's plan to end the Revolutions of 1848 in Austria, which allowed Ferdinand's nephew Franz Joseph to ascend to the throne. Largely considered to be a reactionary, Franz Joseph spent his early reign resisting constitutionalism in his domains. The Austrian Empire was forced to cede most of its claim to Lombardy–Venetia to the Kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia following the conclusion of the Second Italian War of Independence in 1859, and the Third Italian War of Independence in 1866. Although Franz Joseph ceded no territory to the Kingdom of Prussia after the Austrian defeat in the Austro-Prussian War, the Peace of Prague (23 August 1866) settled the German question in favour of Prussia, which prevented the unification of Germany under the House of Habsburg (Großdeutsche Lösung).
