2014 Kentuckiana Ford Dealers Fall Classic, ARCA Racing Series at Salem Speedway - 9/13/14

The ARCA Racing Series rolled into Salem, Indiana for the 2014 Kentuckiana Ford Dealers Fall Classic. The ARCA drivers went 200 laps around the historic 33 degree banked half-mile. Ken Schrader was the pole winner in the #52 and led the first 44 laps before relinquishing the lead to the #98 of Mason Mitchell. The race stayed green as multiple strategies played out. Mitchell and the #77 of Tom Hessert were the only two cars on the led lap when a caution finally flew. Austin Wayne Self was the lucky dog recipient, putting 3 cars on the lead lap for the restart. Mitchell and Hessert battled hard, with Hessert ultimately making the pass for the win. Mitchell did not give up, however, and raced Hessert side-by-side on the last lap before the two leaders made contact in turn 4. Mitchell spun and Hessert took the checkered flag. Self, Grant Enfinger, and Schrader rounded out the top 5.
