Самара непарадная - ул.Алексея Толстого. Samara inside out - Alexey Tolstoy st.
Episode 5. Walking on Alexey Tolstoy street in old Samara. Alexey Tolstoy lived, learned and worked in Samara for few years.
This is the third city street placed along the Volga river and the first essential street. Noblemen, traders, officers and other important and rich citizens lived here. There is a collection of architecture treasures. Some these views take your breath away: ex-governor residence, gothic castle, citadel house (Suroshnikov house), ancient mosque, Samara real highschool (Alexey Tolstoy and Nikolay Semyonov, the single russian Noble prize winner in chemistry, were graduated from), traders cottages and others.
This is an example of modern city decadence. Pretty objects fade away as nobility and bourgeoisie faded and lost.

Samara accident.

The Greatest Special Forces Footage To Come Out Of OIF
The Greatest Special Forces Footage To Come Out Of OIF
Here it is, the greatest special forces footage to have come out of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Based on the uniforms and scenes from the famous raid on Samara’s Golden Mosque during Operation Baton Rouge, the actual content of the is likely from and highlights who I believe is 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group.
The video itself is edited into hypnotizing perfection with seemingly endless flash bangs, door kicks, and gate rams, as Green Berets and their host nation counterparts conduct near-constant high-intensity raids to capture or kill high value targets.

1. The Republic of Bashkortostan, also historically known as Bashkiria, is a federal subject of Russia. With a population of 4,072,292 as of the 2010 Census, Bashkortostan is the most populous republic in Russia. Bashkortostan, the first ethnic autonomy in Russia, was established on 28 November 1917. The name Bashkortostan derives from the name of the Bashkir ethnic group, also known as Başqorts. While the root of the name is Turkic (being a combination of 'baş', which in Turkish can mean head, chief, main, principal, and 'qort' meaning wolf, one of the animals regarded as sacred to Turkic peoples). 2. After the early-feudal Mongolian state had broken down in the 14th century, the territory of modern Bashkortostan became divided between the Kazan and Siberia Khanates and the Nogai Horde. The tribes that lived there were headed by bi (tribal heads). After Kazan fell to Ivan the Terrible in 1554–1555, representatives of western and northwestern Bashkir tribes approached the Tsar with a request to voluntarily join Muscovy. After the Russian Revolution of 1917 were All-Bashkir Qoroltays (conventions) on which a decision on the need to create a national federal republic within Russia. There are 13,000 Jews in the republic.
5. Bortevoy honey (that is honey of bees, living not in apiaries, but in hollows of trees) because of the difficulty of its extraction is very expensive: a kilogram of this delicacy costs from 2.5 to 4 thousand rubles.
6. On the Bashkir territory is located the highest of the peaks of the Southern Urals – Mount Yamantau, towering at 1640 meters.
7. In the Bashkir cave, Shulgan-Tash, the painting of the Stone Age has been preserved – this is the only place with similar drawings in the whole of Eastern Europe. There is a legend according to which in this cave inhabited a certain underground people led by the owner of this place – Div. Miraculous creatures supposedly stored in the cave invaluable treasures and weapons that had no equal.

STORYLINE
The US military on Tuesday handed over the last of its bases outside Samarra, a city billed as a reconciliation success story.
Worries linger though that wartime remedies like barriers and checkpoints will encourage divisions and undermine hard-won security gains.
Nowhere is the split more apparent than in the half-mile (800 meters) passageway of blast walls leading to Samarra's famed Shiite Askariya shrine, once a flash point for sectarian slaughter.
On one side of the walls are struggling Sunni shopkeepers.
On the other are their traditional customers, Shiite pilgrims who for decades provided a steady stream of income for local merchants.
The shrine - ravaged in a February 2006 blast blamed on Sunni insurgents - represents the quandary facing military and civic authorities across Iraq: how much can the lockdown tactics be lifted to restore some sense of normalcy?
At the Samarra shrine, the issue pits security against economic viability.
In Baghdad and other cities where some of the 15-foot (4.5-meter) blast walls have been pulled down, the neighbourhoods that sat behind them have been deeply reordered by years of bloodshed between Sunnis who had power under Saddam Hussein and the majority Shiites who claimed the upper hand after the invasion.
Few mixed areas remain and many Sunnis feel pushed aside in the effort to protect Shiite neighbourhoods and places of worship.
Both US and Iraqi officials say that economic growth remains one of the keys to long-term stability in Iraq, but also acknowledge that the walls and other security measure remain a significant obstacle.
''Those blast walls are really affecting our business. Let them set up checkpoints to search cars intending to enter and let people coming from Baghdad and other parts to visit the holy shrine, so that we can work. I swear by God, our businesses have lessened more and more, day by day.'', complains a local shopkeeper Ahmed Nouri.
Many say Samarra city has been forever changed by the war - and then by the effort to keep the peace, from the damaged and destroyed buildings that dot the cityscape to towering concrete walls that block roads, businesses and homes.
The reconstruction on the mosque has entered its final phase.

Official says Tunisian held over Samarra Golden Dome bombing
Baghdad - June 28, 2006
1. SOUNDBITE (English) Mouwafak al-Rubaie, National Security Adviser:
''We managed to arrest and capture Abu Qudama, the Tunisian. He is a Tunisian national recently. And Abu Qudama has taken active part in blowing up the golden mosque on the 22nd of February this year. That was under the leadership of Hatham al-Badri who is the leader of the cell in al-Qaida in Iraq.''
3. Various, poster showing still of Haitham al-Badri
FILE: Samarra - February 2006
4. Various, damaged Shiite Golden Dome shrine
STORYLINE:
Iraq's National Security adviser Mouwafak al-Rubaie said on Wednesday authorities had arrested a key al-Qaida suspect, a Tunisian, wanted in connection with the bombing of the Shiite Golden Dome shrine last February in Samarra.
But al-Rubaie said the ringleader in the operation, an Iraqi he identified as Haitham Sabah Shaker Mohammed al-Badri, was still on the run.
Al-Rubaie identified the arrested man as Yousri Fakher Mohammed Ali, a Tunisian also known as Abu Qudama.
He said Abu Qudama was seriously wounded in a clash with security forces north of Baghdad few days ago.
Fifteen other foreign fighters were killed in the confrontation, he said.
Al-Rubaie said Abu Qudama and al-Badri were in a gang that included two other Iraqis and four Saudis who carried out the attack.
The bombing in Samarra, 95 kilometres (60 miles) north of Baghdad, set in motion a spasm of sectarian killing and revenge attacks on Sunni and Shiite mosques, an outbreak of violence that took the country to the brink of civil war.
