5 Haunted Places In Laredo – Haunted Texas
Laredo is the 10th biggest city in Texas by population. That may not sound like much but there are a lot of big cities in Texas, so it’s pretty good. Laredo was founded in 1755 while the area was still a Spanish colony, hence the name. It was a fairly boring place until the mid 19th century, when it became the official capital of the independent country called Rio Grande. It’s independence didn’t last long as Mexico soon invaded. The land was then captured by America during the Mexican-American war. So it’s seen a lot of conflict. But what is Laredo like today? Well, some claim there are many haunted places in Laredo. Here are 5 of them.
1. Rio Grande Plaza. For number one on our list of haunted places in Laredo we have the Rio Grande plaza. The Rio Grande Plaza is a 15 floor hotel within walking distance of the Mexican border. Apparently, the whole building is occupied by the lonely ghost of a hotel worker who died while on duty there. Each night he returns to the hotel he loves in order to sweep the floors and make sure all doors and windows are locked. He never hurts humans – or even notice them. You could shout his name and he wouldn’t even turn his head to pay attention to you. It’s as if you are the ghost and he is the human.
2. Webb County Courthouse. The Webb County courthouse was built in 1909 for obvious purposes. A courthouse, it was designed by an architect chosen after winning a contest, with the main prize being designing the new courthouse. It’s construction cost 46 thousand dollars, which was quite a low figure even back then. In recent years, rumors have spread that the building is haunted. But it isn’t haunted by the spirit of a human – but that of a sheep. It’s a building haunted by the ghost of a sheep. That’s actually a local legend. Of all haunted places in Laredo, this is the one I would visit. It’s just too good to miss.
3. Fort McIntosh. Fort McIntosh is a now retired army base in Laredo. Built in 1849, it saw a lot of action, being an active base from 1849 to 1946. So it was built to help defend the recently captured territory after the Mexican-American war, and it saw both the first and second world war. After the latter, it was deemed obsolete even for training purposes and retired. Local legend tells the fort is haunted by several army recruits who accidentally died there during their training. Forever angry at their demise, they seek others to join them. They don’t directly harm people, but hinder people’s plans in any way that could potentially do harm to us mortals.
4. Cathedral of San Agustin. The cathedral of San Agustin is one of many haunted places in Laredo with links to religious institutions. The cathedral of San Agustin was built upon land used by Catholics for worship since the mid 17 hundreds. The building itself was built in the 1860s. It’s a fine example of the Gothic revival style of architecture which was so popular in the last 19th century. The cathedral of San Agustin is told to be haunted by the first priest who served there. A Spanish catholic, he was nervous about traveling to the new world and being I charge of a church all on his own. Unable to deal with the pressure, he commit suicide. There is no historical evidence to support this legend – but his ghost is said to attack people who stay in the cathedral after sundown.
5. The Hamilton Hotel. Built in the year 1900, the Hamilton Hotel was the tallest building in the whole city. Now listed among the area’s historic buildings, the whole place is said to be haunted. Apparently the 6th floor is haunted, and has been ever since a group of devil worshipers performed a bizarre ritual there several decades ago. Legend tells that 57 people have gone missing while visiting the hotel, and no one has any idea where they are. On one occasion, a young child was found dead on the 6th floor with their throat cut. Some say the boy was also killed in another satanic ritual. I guess devil worshipers really loved the Hamilton Hotel.

Bro. Rey Valleser Disc 03 (Born Jan 16,1949 - Died Apr 15,2012)
RAMON REYNALDO L. VALLESER, 63
Brother Rey as intimately called by fellow brethren, went home to his Creator on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the perfect hour of His Divine Mercy 3am in Laredo, Texas.
Born January 16, 1949 in Dauis, Bohol, Philippines, he is a graduate in Philosophy studies in 1969 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Tagbilaran City, Philippines. Realizing that the call to priesthood was not the Lord's choice of vocation for him, he left the seminary and served as Director of Social Action in the Archdiocese of Surigao. He pursued his teaching career and taught in various schools: St. Mary's (formerly Cathedral School in Cagayan de Oro), St. Vianey's Seminary, Xavier University of Ateneo de Manila, Dela Salle College and the International School.
After going through a Life in the Spirit Seminar in 1979, Rey got so fired up with the Holy Spirit and became involved in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.
Also known as Bro Rezeph Francis as a Third Order Franciscan, he is the Founder and Elder of the Fount of Living Waters Outreach Ministry, an evangelistic catholic charismatic non-profit organization founded originally in the Diocese of Rockville Centre, New York that has expanded its ministry in here in San Francisco, CA in 2001, in Sacramento 2003 and in Los Angeles in 2010. The Fount of Living Waters is based at the Immaculate Conception Church in San Francisco with Fr. William Laureola as their Pastoral Director and Fr. Virgil Bart Bartolome, SVD, as it's Spiritual Director.
Bro Rey's ministry included conducting bible studies, religious seminars, speaking in conventions and conferences, teaching both the theological and spiritual aspects of Catholicism, ministering outreach programs, retreats, healing services and leading pilgrimage tours. As a very charismatic and specially gifted servant of the Lord, Bro. Rey became a much sought-agter speaker. He is well loved by Filipino Charismatics not only in San Francisco, but in serveral parts of the United States and the Philipppines. His ministry has brought him to Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver Canada, the Dominican Republic and Europe.
In 2002, Bro. Rey conceptualized the MERS -Marriage Enrichment Renewal Seminars. This ministry reached out to evangelizing married couples. MERS was centered into refreshing dry and dying marriages, perfect and holy marriages and all marriages that needed some special spiritual nourishment, establishing the fact that there are 3 parties in a marriage: the husband, the wife, and JESUS. MERS has expanded its community in Los Angeles in 2010. From one of the MERS weekends in San Francisco, a couple from Laredo, Texas got so inspired in coordinating a MERS weekend in Laredo, Texas. This took place last April 14, 2012...only to find that the Lord's will was something special for Bro. Rey. The seminar did not end as it was supposed to. Bro. Reu took his last breath, according to the Coroner's office, on or at around 3am, the hour of Divine Mercy. It was an answer to Bro. Rey's desires-May the Lord take me home on the Lord's Day, while I am in ministry and with no more hospitalizations, but just falling on the floor.
Bro. Rey has been battling with heart problems and diabetes for quite sometime but became at its worst for the last 12 months. He has been in and out of Seton Hospital. Each time that he is discharged and felt good, he would jump back in preaching the word of God. Despite a lot of restrictions, he continued to conduct his bible studies every Wednesday in Pacifica. His zeal and love for the Lord was very eminent and prevalent in his life. As Bro. Rey always expressed in all the communities that he preaches to: Rain or Shine, nothing will stop me from serving my Lord.
Ramon Reynaldo Valleser, Bro. Rey will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife, Rowena (Winnie) nee de Vera and a 12-year old daughter, Rinnah, brother: Jesus, sisters: Cecilia, Amabelle, Theopatrice and Ramonita, and 19 nephews and nieces.
Eternal rest grant unto your faithful servant, Ramon, O Lord, and let your perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! SUMMARY
=======
San Antonio (; from Spanish, Saint Anthony), officially the City of San Antonio, is the seventh-most populous city in the United States, and the second-most populous city in both Texas and the Southern United States, with more than 1.5 million residents. Founded as a Spanish mission and colonial outpost in 1718, the city became the first chartered civil settlement in present-day Texas in 1731. The area was still part of the Spanish Empire, and later of the Mexican Republic. It is the state's oldest municipality, having celebrated its 300th anniversary on May 1, 2018.The city's deep history is contrasted with its rapid growth over the past few decades. It was the fastest-growing of the top ten largest cities in the United States from 2000 to 2010, and the second from 1990 to 2000. Straddling the regional divide between South and Central Texas, San Antonio anchors the southwestern corner of an urban megaregion colloquially known as the Texas Triangle. The Greater San Antonio and Greater Austin areas are separated from each other by a few miles along Interstate 35 between New Braunfels, Texas and San Marcos, Texas. Despite the two metros being so close, it is one of the few regions in the United States without an official Combined Statistical Area issued by the census bureau.
San Antonio serves as the seat of Bexar County; recent annexations have extended the city's boundaries into Medina County and, for a tiny area near the city of Garden Ridge, into Comal County. Since San Antonio was founded during the Spanish Colonial Era, it has a church (San Fernando Cathedral) in its center, on the main civic plaza in front, a characteristic of many Spanish-founded cities, towns, and villages in Spain and Latin America.
San Antonio is the center of the San Antonio–New Braunfels metropolitan statistical area. Commonly called Greater San Antonio, the metro area has a population of 2,473,974 based on the 2017 U.S. census estimate, making it the 24th-largest metropolitan area in the United States and third-largest in Texas.San Antonio was named by a 1691 Spanish expedition for Saint Anthony of Padua, whose feast day is June 13. The city contains five 18th-century Spanish frontier missions, including The Alamo and San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, which together were designated UNESCO World Heritage sites in 2015. Other notable attractions include the River Walk, the Tower of the Americas, SeaWorld, the Alamo Bowl, and Marriage Island. Commercial entertainment includes S ...
