San Angelo State Park - Texas State Parks
San Angelo State Park - Texas State Parks
The Two Tired Teachers visited San Angelo State Park in the summer of 2018. San Angelo State Park sits in west Texas.
This park has a north and south entrances that are 9 miles apart. We recommend that you check in at the south entrance because the north entrance may not be manned.
The south part of the park is much more populated than the north, but if you are coming in the summer, you may want to visit the north part due to the shade.
The south part of the park has both a bison herd and a longhorn herd. Those animals have about 200 fenced acres to roam.
The south part does have air conditioned cabins. Those are situated so that you can pull your RV next to the cabin.
The north part of San Angelo State Park does have some equestrian sites. They have a tether where you can tie your horse, and some of the campsites have pens.
We did go to the visitor center in San Angelo. The visitor center sits next to three branches of the Concho River.
The river does have a river walk. It is a paved path you can find art, playgrounds, and exercise areas. Several pedestrian walks will take you from one side of the river to the other.
San Angelo State Park has 50 miles of trails. Unless otherwise noted, the trails are for biking, hiking, and horseback riding. You can fish, swim, boat, or paddle on the lake or river in the park.

US 67 - Houston Harte San Angelo, TX.
This is US 67 in San Angelo, TX (my town). It's a 4 lane limited access highway through San Angelo. TxDOT built this freeway in 1956 and was built in two major parts, Loop 306, and Houston Harte Expressway.
Loop 306 averages about 38,000 cars a day.
Houston Harte gets about 39,000 per day.
The reason for the dead grass is because of the fact that we haven't gotten a good rain since February..
Thanks for watching.

The Texas Bucket List - Miss Hattie's Bordello Museum
Legend Jewelers in San Angelo has quite the legendary tales to tell about the bedrooms upstairs! Miss Hattie’s Bordello once held the jewels of the West and entertained many a fellow looking for rest and refreshment. Now a museum serving as a snapshot of the risqué side of southern hospitality, Miss Hattie’s is well worth a stop on The Texas Bucket List.
