For my birthday we traveled south to Mustang Island and stayed in the town of Port Aransas for a few days.

Scuba diving John Worthington wreck (Texas)
Scuba dive on the SS John Worthington wreck behind San Jose Island (Port Aransas, Texas) on July 31, 2018. In short, the Worthington was a WWII supply ship that was torpedoed by a German U-boat off Brazil, then abandoned behind St Joe Island when she was deemed unsalvageable. She eventually succumbed to the sea and still rests on bottom across from the light house marked by two buoys with the bow facing south. Depth of the wreck varies from 5'-30'.
