One Australian Died In Bushfires
Bushfires in Australia's Victoria state have killed one person, as parts of the country face another day of soaring temperatures.
A body was found in the Northern Grampians area. Authorities say the bushfire in the area is out of control and have told residents to evacuate.
There are also blazes in the states of South Australia and New South Wales, with several fire alerts in place.
South-east Australia has faced days of soaring temperatures.
Police say they are treating the death in the Northern Grampians as occurring as a result of the fires.
Earlier this week, hot weather led to power outages for tens of thousands of households and play at the Australian Open tennis tournament was briefly suspended.
Both Melbourne and Adelaide experienced weather above 40C (104F) on Friday.
'Massive plume'
There were at least 43 blazes in Victoria, 16 in South Australia, and 12 in New South Wales on Friday, authorities said.
Greg Nettleton, from the South Australian Country Fire Authority, said: We will get more [fire] starts, that's pretty much guaranteed.
But we're ready for what the weather might serve up to us today.
As of 12:00 (01:00 GMT), the fire in the Northern Grampians was 210 sq km (81 sq miles) in size, the Country Fire Authority (CFA) said.
Rohan McDonald, owner of a tourist park on the edge of Grampians National Park, told the Australian Associated Press: We are covered in smoke, there is a massive plume that looks like an atomic bomb has gone off over the top of the mountain.
Lee Hutchinson, a resident from Laharum, a community near the Grampians National Park, told ABC he saw: Huge masses of trees igniting. Probably flames reaching 40, 50, up to 100 feet (30m) in the air.
The CFA described the fire as fast moving and out of control in a warning notice urging residents to evacuate.
In other areas, residents were told to shelter indoors as it was too late to leave.
Earlier this week, a tennis player and a ball boy fainted in the heat during the Australian Open in Melbourne.
On Thursday, organisers enforced their extreme heat policy, suspending matches on outside courts.
Also on Thursday, an interim report from Australia's Climate Council said the number of heatwaves in the country was projected to increase significantly.
The Climate Council report attributed the development to climate change, caused by greenhouse gases.
2013 was recently declared Australia's hottest year on record.
Sue (dinosaur)
Sue is the nickname given to FMNH PR 2081, which is the largest, most extensive and best preserved Tyrannosaurus rex specimen ever found. It has a length of 12.3 metres, stands 4 metres tall at the hips, and was estimated to have weighed more than 6.4 metric tons when alive. It was discovered in the summer of 1990 by Sue Hendrickson, a paleontologist, and was named after her. After ownership disputes were settled, the fossil was auctioned in October 1997 for US $7.6 million, the highest amount ever paid for a dinosaur fossil, and is now a permanent feature at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, Illinois.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
German Americans (German: Deutschamerikaner) are Americans who have full or partial German ancestry. With an estimated size of approximately 44 million in 2016, German Americans are the largest of the self-reported ancestry groups by the US Census Bureau in its American Community Survey. German-Americans account for about one third of the total ethnic German population in the world.None of the German states had American colonies. In the 1670s, the first significant groups of German immigrants arrived in the British colonies, settling primarily in Pennsylvania, New York, and Virginia. Immigration continued in very large numbers during the 19th century, with eight million arrivals from Germany. Between 1820 and 1870 over seven and a half million German immigrants came to the United States. By 2010, their population grew to 49.8 million German Americans, reflecting a jump of 6 million people since 2000.
There is a German belt that extends all the way across the United States, from eastern Pennsylvania to the Oregon coast. Pennsylvania has the largest population of German-Americans in the U.S. and is home to one of the group's original settlements, Germantown (Philadelphia), founded in 1683 and the birthplace of the American antislavery movement in 1688, as well as the revolutionary Battle of Germantown. The state of Pennsylvania has 3.5 million people of German ancestry.
They were pulled by the attractions of land and religious freedom, and pushed out of Germany by shortages of land and religious or political oppression. Many arrived seeking religious or political freedom, others for economic opportunities greater than those in Europe, and others for the chance to start fresh in the New World. The arrivals before 1850 were mostly farmers who sought out the most productive land, where their intensive farming techniques would pay off. After 1840, many came to cities, where Germania—German-speaking districts—soon emerged.German Americans established the first kindergartens in the United States, introduced the Christmas tree tradition, and introduced popular foods such as hot dogs and hamburgers to America. The great majority of people with some German ancestry have become Am ...
