Denis Mc Laughlin
Denis Mc Laughlin hails from Derry City in the North of Ireland. From a family of seven children Denis is right in the middle. From an early age his big brother John introduced a guitar to the family and it wasn't long after the guitar was passed down through the boys of the family.
Denis started his musical career as a bass player in a show band or a dance-band. Denis continued to play the bass in various bands ranging from heavy-metal to country and pop.
At the start of the 80's Denis began to play solo and not long after he was joined by his two brothers John and Eamon and founded the group „Thundering Down. They were a popular band playing Irish folk songs, travelling in England, Denmark, Germany, Sweden and Canada.
Later Denis moved to Denmark and started his solo career, playing Irish folk music. Denis plays the banjo, the mandolin, the Irish bouzouki, the bodhran and the bones. Denis also has a fantastic voice and sings powerful songs of Irish history, songs of love, songs of sadness, upbeat songs and of course the songs of Ireland that everybody is welcome to sing-along.
Denis still lives in Denmark and has been there for 23 years entertaining those who wish to hear the great songs of Ireland.
Paddy Nash - The Ballad of Adam & Evan
Over the past few months same sex marriage has been approved in England and Wales and in France, with a strong recommendation for a constitutional amendment for same sex marriage in Ireland (from the Constitutional Convention). On the 29th April 2013 a motion calling for legislation on same-sex marriage was rejected in the Northern Ireland Assembly in Stormont.
The outcome was not unexpected: a similar motion had failed in October last year. However, with same-sex marriage about to become a reality in England and Wales, Sinn Féin, supported by the SDLP, the Greens and Alliance , tabled the motion to put political pressure on the Unionist parties, the DUP and UUP. (The biggest unionist party, the DUP, has a strongly socially conservative outlook and a religious voting base, so it was always unlikely to support the measure).
Adam and Evan met through mutual friends
They hit it off and agreed to see each other again
Ten years down the line
They're still in love and doing fine
Two bright happy, two bright healthy men
Now to some of us religion doesn't mean a lot
but adam and evan were desperate to tie the knot
They believe that god is great
and whether you're gay or straight
He loves everyone as equal but allegedly not
The holy man said you cant come in
You know it's illegal and you know it's a sin
It's not up to me it's what the bible says
You're going to have to change your evil ways
Well Adam and Evan were devastated by this news
So they called their local MLA to see what he could do
But he just said the same shirking every ounce of blame
You have to change for equality to work for you
Up on the hill the hyenas sit
Bullies and liars and hypocrites
All good christians they'd have us believe
That we're living in a new democracy
Let's all stand up for Adam and Evan
and for every other couple being victimised
Tell those dinosaurs they better start opening doors
Love is not immoral Love is a human right
Welcome to Northern Ireland the land of fear
Make sure to set your watch back fifty years
Fundamentals rule and use a holy book as a tool
To inflict their shallow views and further their careers
These are the people who'd have us believe
That Jesus died for rich mens greed
Under the cover of darkness live a seedy life
And some of them stay home and beat their wife

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
The Occupy movement was an international progressive, socio-political movement against social and economic inequality and the lack of real democracy around the world. It aimed primarily to advance social and economic justice and new forms of democracy. The movement had many different scopes; local groups often had different focuses, but among the movement's prime concerns were how large corporations (and the global financial system) control the world in a way that disproportionately benefited a minority, undermined democracy, and was unstable. Occupy formed part of what Manfred Steger called the global justice movement. The first Occupy protest to receive widespread attention, Occupy Wall Street in New York City's Zuccotti Park, began on 17 September 2011. By 9 October, Occupy protests had taken place or were ongoing in over 951 cities across 82 countries, and in over 600 communities in the United States. Although most active in the United States, by October 2012 there had been Occupy protests and occupations in dozens of other countries across every inhabited continent. For the first month, overt police repression remained minimal, but this began to change by 25 October 2011 when police first attempted to forcibly remove Occupy Oakland. By the end of 2011, authorities had cleared most of the major camps, with the last remaining high-profile sites – in Washington, D.C. and in London – evicted by February 2012.The Occupy movement took inspiration in part from the Arab Spring, from the 2009 Iranian Green Movement, and from the Spanish Indignados Movement, as well as from the overall global wave of anti-austerity protests. The movement commonly uses the slogan We are the 99% and the #Occupy hashtag format; it organizes through websites such as Occupy Together. According to The Washington Post, the movement, which Cornel West described as a democratic awakening, is difficult to distill to a few demands. On 12 October 2011, Los Angeles City Council became one of the first governmental bodies in the United States to adopt a resolution stating its informal support of the Occupy movement. In October 2012, the Executive Director of Financial Stability at the Bank of England stated that the protesters were right to criticise and had persuaded bankers and politicians to behave in a more moral way.
