Santa Fe National Cemetery
We stumbled upon the Santa Fe National Cemetery on our recent trip to New Mexico. This location was filled with honor and national pride. God bless all our troops, past and present.
Fairview Cemetery Santa Fe, New Mexico
Fairview is Santa Fe’s only non-Catholic pioneer cemetery and its history begins long before the May 7, 1884, date of its founding. The earliest headstone is dated 1862 and was among those moved 1895-1903 from the old Masonic-Oddfellows Cemetery downtown which was located where the Scottish Rite Cathedral now stands and extended to the site of the present Plaza del Monte.

Texas State Cemetery
The Texas State Cemetery is about 22 acres of land located in East Austin. Originally the burial place of Edward Burleson, Texas Revolutionary general and Vice-President of the Republic of Texas, it was expanded into a Confederate cemetery during the Civil War.
The cemetery is divided into two sections. The smaller one contains around 900 graves of prominent Texans, while the larger has over 2,000 marked graves of Confederate veterans and widows.

Former New Mexico priest gets 30 years for child sexual abuse
A former Roman Catholic priest who fled to Morocco before he was returned to the United States and convicted of sexually abusing an altar boy in New Mexico in the 1990s was sentenced on Friday to 30 years in prison, prosecutors said.US District Judge Martha Vazquez imposed the sentence in Albuquerque federal court on Arthur Perrault, 81, a onetime Air Force chaplain and colonel, US Attorney John Anderson said in a statement. 'There are few acts more horrific than the long-term sexual abuse of a child,' Anderson said. 'At long last, today's sentence holds Perrault accountable for his deplorable conduct.' Temple Houston, Legendary Old West Lawyer
Temple was the youngest son of Sam Houston and he spent a lifetime trying to make a name of his own. No matter how much he tried his father's name still followed. He was an excellent public speaker and he was known for his theatrics in the courtroom. Like any other lawman of the old west Temple flirted with being good and bad.
