????????Olympic ????????????ghost Bobsleigh Luge Track Bosnia Sarajevo
Sarajevo Olympic Bobsleigh and Luge Track is a bobsleigh and luge track situated on Trebević mountain overlooking the City of Sarajevo, built for the 1984 Winter Olympics.
When Sarajevo was awarded the 1984 Winter Olympics in 1977, a bobsleigh and luge track was proposed. The track design was approved in 1981, with construction starting on 1 June of that year. Construction was completed on 30 September 1982 at a cost YUD 563,209,000. The 1984 games had 20,000 luge spectators and 30,000 bobsleigh spectators. After the Winter Olympics, the track was used for World Cup competitions until the start of the Yugoslav wars in 1991 that would include the Bosnian War the following year. The track was damaged as a result of Siege of Sarajevo. During the siege, the track was used as an artillery position by Bosnian Serb forces. Today, the tracks still remain mostly intact with war wounds of defensive fighting holes, drilled into one of the last turns of the course. The tracks today are mainly used for graffiti and bicycling
The 1984 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XIV Olympic Winter Games (French: Les XIVes Jeux olympiques d'hiver; Serbo-Croatian: XIV zimske olimpijske igre / XIV Зимске олимпијске игре; Macedonian: XIV Зимски олимписки игри), was a winter multi-sport event which took place from 8–19 February 1984 in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia, in present-day Bosnia-Herzegovina. Other candidate cities were Sapporo, Japan; and Gothenburg, Sweden.
It was the first Winter Olympics held in a Communist state. It was also the second Olympics overall, as well as the second consecutive Olympics, to be held in a Communist nation after the 1980 Summer Olympics were held in Moscow, Soviet Union. The only other games that have since been held in a communist state are the 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing and 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, and the 2022 Winter Olympics which will be held in Beijing. All of these have been in China.
The torch relay for the 1984 Sarajevo Olympic games started in Olympia and then proceeded by airplane to Dubrovnik. The total distance of the torch relay through Yugoslavia was 5,289 kilometres (3,286 mi) (plus 2,879 kilometres (1,789 mi) of local routes). There were two main routes – one in the west (Split – Ljubljana – Zagreb – Sarajevo with 2,602 kilometres (1,617 mi) of length) and the other in the east (Skopje – Novi Sad – Belgrade – Sarajevo with 2,687 kilometres (1,670 mi) of length). The final torchbearer, from a total of 1600, was figure skater Sanda Dubravčić, who received the torch from skier runner Ivo Čarman. Today one of the two original torches is in Slovenia in a private collection in Žalec, Slovenia. Also 20 more torches are in Greece owned by individual athletes, who were the torchbearers from Ancient Olympia to the nearby military airport and from Athens Domestic Airport to the Panathinaikon Stadium where the Ceremony of handing over the Olympic Flame to the Sarajevo Olympic Games Committee occurred

Trebevic - '84 Sarajevo Winter Olympics bobsleigh track bike run
I had a few runs with my bike on the Olympic bobsleigh track on mount Trebevič, Sarajevo.
While the bobsleigh racers did 120km/h during the '84 Winter Olympics my Garmin showed 59.3km/h as the top speed over four runs. I know better bikers can do (and did) much higher speeds but it was enough for me because I really enjoyed it. :)
The track usable portion is 1.5km and definitely worth a trip if you are in Sarajevo even if just walking. It is the closest Olympic mountain to the city.

Sarajevo (center) - Trebevic (bobsled)
28.01.2018.. Started in the center of Sarajevo and climbed my way up to Trebevic where there is an abandoned bobsled-track. Although covered in snow, I drove it downhill... Really something special and hope to do it again somewhere in spring.. The full footage of the downhill can be found on this channel too..

Cycling the Sarajevo Olympic bobsled track
GoPro video of me, cycling down the abandoned Sarajevo Olympic bobsled track. It was a real adrenaline rush, and I sure will repeat this bicycle ride on Sarajevo's bobsled track again, hopefully very soon. If any of the viewers plans to visit Sarajevo, and would like to experience some true adrenaline sports-wise, make sure you grab a bike and go down this great, but unfortunately abandoned bobsled track on the mountain of Trebevic, just above Sarajevo.
Biking the Sarajevo Olympic bobsled track
I flew to Sarajevo, Bosnia and brought along my mountain bike so I could bike down the abandoned Olympic bobsleigh track. I was able to reach speeds of almost 60km/h.
