Sargaalaya is a 20-acre arts and craft village in Iringal.Kozhikode district., Kerala, India.It was established at a cost of around 15 crores on 19 February 2011 by The Kerala Tourism department.
The annual Sargaalaya International Arts & Crafts Festival is held here from December 20 to January 5.The 2016 Sargalaya Festival had over 350 artisans from all over the world register for the Festival. It is also considered to be South India's biggest handicraft fair. Around two hundred thousand (lakh) people visited the festival in 2015.
The Kerala State Tourism award function is also held at the crafts village.Sargaalaya has over 60 stalls selling various ethnic crafts and it also houses The Crafts Design and Technology development centre, which provides training for craftsmen to learn new techniques in traditional handicrafts.

Vadakara is a coastal town in the Kozhikode district, state of Kerala. Vatakara has been known as Kadathanadu during the reign of Kolathiris and Zamorins.
Sandbanks is a small peninsula which is surrounded by the Moorad river on the east and the Arabian Sea on the west. This place has a building called the Sandbanks Bungalow, which was built by Mr Wilfred Vincent Reilly in the year 1946. Many tourists visit this place for a view of the sunset. This is where the Moorad river merges with Arabian sea.
Sargalaya – The Arts and Crafts Village, established in 2011, is an initiative by the Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala. The Village is a craft cluster that was conceptualized as a tourism destination, developed and implemented on the Responsible Tourism model.
The craft village is set up on 20 acres of land on the banks of the Moorad River, just 200 meters off Kozhikode – Kannur National Highway near Vadakara. The craft village has 27 cottages where, a hundred or even more artisans can work. Apart from showcasing crafts of craftsmen from across Kerala, Sargaalaya has a Crafts Design & Technology development centre that provides training for craftsmen on the latest techniques of production and encourages innovation in the traditional system.
Kunjali Marakkar Memorial - The Marakkars were admirals of the Zamorins, who valiantly resisted the Portuguese on the high seas. Kunhali Marakkar built a fort on the southern bank of the Moorad river.This fort was completely destroyed by the Portuguese at a later time. The place where the fort stood is known today as Kottakkal. A small hut that belonged to Kunjali Marakkar with collections of ancient swords, cannonballs and knives can be seen here.
