Satria Coffee Plantation - BALI, Indonesia
We visited Satria Coffee Plantation in Bali to sample some local coffee and tea.
We got to learn about different coffee beans and how they make the coffee.
They brought us 12 different samples of coffee, tea and hot chocolate for us to try. They were delicious. After sampling them all, we ordered our favorite in a mug. I loved the Vanilla Coffee.
We really enjoyed the coffees so much, we bought some from the gift shop to bring back home to Australia.
Dad even tried a Luwak coffee and said it was nice! Has anyone else tried this?

A day in Ubud, Bali (luwak coffee plantation)
A short video during our visit to the Satria Coffee Plantation.
Luwak coffee is the world's most expensive coffee. The main factor of it's high price is the uncommon method of producing such a coffee. It has been produced from the coffee beans which have been digested by a certain Indonesian cat-like animal called then palm civet or also civet cat.

Kopi Luwak Coffee Tasting and Coffee Plantation Tour in Bali Indonesia
Drinking Kopi Luwak in Indonesia was such an experience! We had obviously heard the stories of Kopi Luwak Coffee for years and we so interested to see if it was as good as they said. Leaving the beautiful mountain village of Mt. Batur, we headed for a warmer climate toward the city of Ubud. Our driver took us to a beautiful coffee plantation where we were able to learn about different plants and spices that are grown on the island and met our first Asian palm civet. These adorable little animals are used to make Kopi Luwak coffee (or Civet Coffee).
It is such an interesting practice of harvesting Civet poop in order to make coffee. We do not know the history of this practice but do know that it has been around for a very long time. We did learn later on that the increased demand for Kopi Luwak around the world has began to threaten the wild populations of Civets on the island.
We had such a relaxed time looking out at the country views, the rice fields in the background, while sipping our Kopi Luwak and other assorted teas and coffees. This part of the trip was the first time that we felt truly relaxed and we settled into the moment while having great conversation and laughing at our silliness.
Fun fact of the day: Deborah HATES snails. And giant snails get extra reaction :D Michael found a giant snail and felt it necessary to share it with Deborah (who didn't disappoint in her disgusted reaction)!
Next on the list is the City of Ubud! Subscribe and follow our journey around the island! :)

In this Bali travel vlog, we try the world's most expensive coffee called Kopi Luwak, made from a civet cat in #Indonesia. The cat eats the coffee berries, but they do not get digested. They come out whole, and their pellets are collected and made into the coffee. Yum!
Huge thank you to Segara Windhu Argo Coffee plantations for their hostility and for their excellent presentation of the coffee and tea tastings.
