It was opened right after the war and is the oldest museum of the city. The museum started to collect its exhibits in 1946. The main museum building is the former town hall Stadthalle, built in Koenigsberg in 1912 by the architect Richard Seele in art nouveau. The museum displays permanent and temporary exhibitions in 11 halls. The visitors get acquainted with the nature, history and culture of the region. The museum includes separately located exhibitions, such as: the Park of Sculpture (situated on the island near the city center), the Мuseum exhibition in the open air «Koenigsberg Castle», the Blindage Museum (the war bunker, where Otto Lasch decided to sign the Act of Capitulation), the Museum of fighting glory “Fort № 5”, the Museum of the Command Post of the 43d Army (the command post during the seizure of Koenigsberg) in Kholmogorovka, Zelеnogradskiy district, the Memorial Museum of Kristijonas Donelaitis in Chistye Prudy, Nesterovskiy district. Gorky Park & View from Observation Deck, Garden of Fallen Monuments in Moscow, Russia
Thanks for joining in on another video from our trip to Moscow! This video is a compilation of clips from the second day of our trip - first we start at Gorky Park, named after Maxim Gorky and a large, pretty park right in central Moscow at the Park Kultury Metro stop. Right at the entry gate there is a museum, at the top of which is a large observation deck area - this deck has nice views and is hardly ever crowded either!
After views from the top, we head across the street - more specifically, under the street since Moscow is known for all their road underpasses! The large building there is the New Tretyakov Gallery, a modern Russian art museum which is in a large yet not overly striking building - in the park area facing away from the river is the Garden of Fallen Monuments, an area of Soviet statues, propaganda and other memorabilia from a bygone era. Here you see busts of Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky and many other Soviet figures - these were all around the city and after the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 were torn down as a sign of rebellion and victory. Many of these now reside in this park - it is an amazing thing to see!
One last thing - ever seen the 007 movie Goldeneye? Well, the scene where Bond finds out Alec Trevelyan is still alive and is the enemy Janus is set in this same garden...interestingly, that scene was set in St. Petersburg, NOT in Moscow where the park actually resides!
Enjoy the video!

Мероприятие Makers Mini Maker Faire
Подробнее:
егодня мы расскажем вам о таком мероприятии как Mini Maker Faire.
Grand Palace, St. Petersburg, Russia
The Peterhof Palace is a series of palaces and gardens located in Petergof, Saint Petersburg, Russia, commissioned by Peter the Great as a direct response to the Palace of Versailles by Louis XIV of France. Originally intended in 1709 for country habitation, Peter the Great sought to expand the property as a result of his visit to the French royal court in 1717, inspiring the nickname used by tourists The Russian Versailles In the period between 1714 and 1728, the architecture was designed by Domenico Trezzini, and the style he employed became the foundation for the Petrine Baroque style favored throughout Saint Petersburg. Also in 1714, Jean-Baptiste Alexandre Le Blond designed the gardens, likely chosen due to his previous collaborations with Versailles landscaper André Le Nôtre. Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli completed an expansion from 1747 to 1756 for Elizabeth of Russia. The palace-ensemble along with the city center is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Russia: FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour comes to Yaroslavl
A welcome ceremony for the FIFA World Cup 2018 trophy was held in the Russian city of Yaroslavl on Wednesday, as part of the cup’s world tour.
SOT, Viktor Kostin, First Deputy of the Chairman of the Yaroslavl Region Government (Russian): This is a very special occasion for us. On the one hand it’s just a cup, but it’s much more than that because it is the FIFA cup. Football is much more than just a game. Thirty two teams will come to Russia to fight for this cup, it’s really a breathtaking show. It’s a show that more people watch than the Olympics. It’s a powerful impulse to develop football both in Russia and the rest of the world.
SOT, Viktor Kostin, First Deputy of the Chairman of the Yaroslavl Region Government (Russian): Believe me, I’m sat next to the cup and it gives off a powerful energy, it even makes you shake a little. It’s hard to imagine that the effect of this cup makes stadiums with thousands of people get on their feet and cheer. The energy in a stadium travels around the world. Thank you everyone.

GRUTO PARKAS known as STALIN WORLD Theme Park (Budget Travel Lithuania) {Druskininkai, LITHUANIA}
Budget Travel Lithuania #1
Gruto Parkas, known as Stalin World Theme Park, is an eerie reminder of Eastern Europe's communist past.
Tucked inside a remote forest, just inside the border of rural Lithuania, is an eclectic collection of statues and sculptures. After many works of communist art and Soviet propaganda in this previous USSR republic were destroyed and trashed during the transition from Moscow rule to its present day democracy and freedom, several hundred socialist pieces were still saved and salvaged.
Stroll with Matt in the isolation of a gulag-like setting to experience what life behind the Iron Curtain was like when always under a watchful eye of public figurines.
And if you don't like Lenin or Stalin, Gruto Parkas contains llamas!

World Cup glory: Portraits of football gods in historical uniforms exhibited in St. Petersburg
St. Petersburg's Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts is hosting an exhibition by the Italian artist Fabrizio Birimbelli entitled Like the Gods.
It features over 40 portraits of world football legends past and present, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona, Mohamed Salah and Diego Costa - all of them in historical uniforms.
I like the fact that you can see players as generals and leaders, because during the matches, during the 90 minutes, you feel that they're really your representatives, that they're really your leaders, said Birimbelli.
The project will run through the World Cup, which is held at 12 stadiums in 11 cities of Russia from June 14 to July 15.

A look at the Spartak stadium, one of the main World Cup venues
(8 Jun 2018) The Spartak Stadium in Moscow is one of the main venues for this summer's World Cup in Russia.
Built three years ago, it is the home of Spartak Moscow and also staged matches in last year's Confederations Cup and a number of Russia matches.
With a capacity of 45,000, it is one of the smallest of the 12 venues and is dwarfed by Moscow's other stadium, the Luzhniki, which holds 81,000.
Outside of the World Cup and Confederations Cup, the stadium is known as the Otkritie Arena, or Discovery Arena.
When the stadium was opened in 2014, a monument was also unveiled dedicated to the Sarostin brothers, the founders of Spartak Moscow.
Also on the square outside the stadium is a sculpture of the Roman gladiator Spartacus - after whom Spartak Moscow was named.
The stadium's first match is on June 16, as Argentina take on Iceland in Group D.
Three days later, it stages Poland versus Senegal in Group H, with the Group G match between Belgium and Tunisia following on June 23.
Spartak Stadium's final match in the group stages is Brazil against Serbia on June 27.
But it also plays host to a Round of 16 match on July 3.

Kneiphof was devastated by the 1944 bombing of Königsberg in World War II. Conquered by the Soviet Union in 1945, Königsberg was renamed to Kaliningrad in 1946. Material from former Kneiphof's buildings was used for the reconstruction of cities such as Leningrad. In the 1970s the island began to be converted into a park with numerous sculptures. Reconstruction of the cathedral commenced in the 1990s. Former Kneiphof is now known as Kant Island, in honor of the philosopher Immanuel #остров канта #рыбная деревня #калининград #маяк#кафедральный собор
