One of Italy's most famous fountains has been damaged after some tourists went for a swim.
Bernini's Four Rivers fountain in Rome is a popular landmark and will now have to undergo extensive repairs.
Tourists taking a dip on in one Rome's most famed fountains, Bernini's Four Rivers, have broken the tail off a dragon.
A 17-year-old Irish tourist retrieved several fragments of reptile tail and turned them over to the police.
Bernini's Baroque masterpiece, unveiled in 1651, adorns the centre of Rome's Piazza Navona.
Police apprehended at least one suspect, an Italian youth.
