Ryan McCarty Shaftesbury Golf & Fish Club Myrtle Beach SC
I met Ryan McCarty, the Director of Operations, at Shaftesbury Golf & Fish Club in the pro shop and later interviewed him in front of the Scottish Castle that is a clubhouse downstairs and five Shaftesbury Suites upstairs. He spoke of owner Paul Himmelsbach and how he caddied as a young lad at Winged Foot Golf Club and brought that golf course to South Carolina. The ownership group of brothers Paul and Jack along with Marvin Arnsdorff started with Heather Glen and Glen Dornoch. Later they converted Himmelsbach family farmland into the Shaftesbury Masterpiece of generous and manicured fairways leading to well-bunkered elevated bent grass greens. Ryan grew up playing golf in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Myrtle Beach to be in the golf business year round. Though second in the title the fishing in the Waccamaw River behind the castle clubhouse is reported to be as good as the golf by golfers and fisherman alike. AG&TD2014046
New Jersey Piney Power show: Fall Foliage winding along the Toms
An absolutely beautiful walk along the Toms River, starting from Rt.37 through Winding River Park. After the cold weather this weekend, the Swamp Maples changed to absolutely stunning colors. All along the wetlands along the river and the lakes, the color was amazing! And this was in addition to all those beautiful Pitch Pines! This walk also heads north of Oak Ridge Pkwy into the park extension, where more scenery awaits, and winds up at an abandoned campground with more beautiful scenery. But I have a suprise at the end, as I decided to take a walk over to Pine Lake Park, just over the township border in Manchester. This is a beautiful large lake, with crystal clean water! And of course lots of beautiful color and Great Shapes around!
Hawaii Islands, the most beautiful place on Pacific ocean
In what words to describe the Hawaii? So many beautiful epithets can be used for this unique place in the world. Starting from the spiritual beauty of the hula, over the emerald valleys and golden sands to the visceral power of an active volcano, Hawaii can be called the most magnificent place on Earth.
Hawaii
Hawaii are located in the middle of the North Pacific Ocean, about 3,200 kilometers from the coast of the United States. There are six main islands to visit in Hawaii: Kauai, the oldest, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui and Hawaii Island, the youngest and also the biggest.
Things to do
Hawaii is the island where there are so many activities and options on how to spend your holiday. Depending on what you want from a holiday, here you can, besides lying on the beach and enjoying the sun do: snorkeling on some of the most incredible reefs, kayaking, boating, fourwheeling, hiking, surfing, golfing, horseback riding, fishing, windsurfing and much more …
It is difficult to do everything you want to do while you are there, so that, for start, we can visit the island, and find about the activities that they provide. Following is a brief description of the six Hawaiian islands:
map
Kauai
Kauai is also known as the “Garden Isle” because it is filled with rainforests, beaches, swamps, mountains, cascading waterfalls and tropical vegetation that you’ve never seen before. It is interesting that Kauai is the “wettest spot on earth,” with an average annual rainfall of 440 inches. On this island you can see the Waimea Canyon, which is the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, and the Na Pali Coast, which has some of the world’s highest ocean cliffs.
If you want to explore the island better, the best way to do it is to rent a car, but do not miss the chance to travel by foot on Kauai’s magnificent hiking trails. Some parts of the island can be seen only from the air, so you are advised to take an air tour (by helicopter or small plane) or a boat tour to witness the towering cliffs along Kauai’s North Shore.

Oahu
The capital city of Hawaii- Honolulu, is located on this island. Also, here is the most famous beach in the world – Waikiki, about 2 miles long and made up of nine other smaller beaches. Waikiki is Oahu’s main hotel and resort area and here you’ll find world-class shopping, dining, entertainment, activities and resorts.
If you are a surfer, the North Shore is the perfect place for you. From November to February, this island offers massive waves that you will find anywhere in the world, which can sometimes swell up to thirty feet or more.
Oahu is famous for the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. A memorial was built over the ship, and here you can see all the details about the devastating aerial attack on Pearl Harbor resulted in 2,390 dead soldiers.
There are too many attractions on this island, and some of them are: visit to Diamond Head, the Waikiki Aquarium, the Honolulu Zoo and much more ..
Molokai
Only 38 miles long and 10 miles across at its widest point, Molokai is the home to the highest sea cliffs in the world and Hawaii’s longest continuous fringing reef. On this island there is no tall buildings and you will not even find a streetlight, but here you can visit the Kalaupapa National Historical Park or discover Papohaku Beach, one of Hawaii’s biggest white sand beaches.
Lanai
Here you can enjoy the natural wonders such is the lunar-like landscape of Keahiakawelo, also known as the “Garden of the Gods” or the iconic rock outcropping Puu Pehe (Sweetheart Rock) or the Lanaihale and Kanepuu Preserve – called the Dryland forest.
Also, here is the picturesque Hulopoe Bay which features the best swimming and snorkeling on the island. The calm waters preserve hosts a variety of colorful fish close to shore.
Lanai offers many more activities such as rafting, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, mountain biking, fishing, golf and exploring 400 miles of Lanai island by 4-wheel drive.
Between Lanai, Maui and Molokai, the islands’ warm and shallow waters offer some of the best whale watching in the world. Between January and early April, here you can observe a 45-ton whales tail slapping, breaching or blowing spouts in the air.
Florida Keys
The Florida Keys are a coral cay archipelago in the southeast United States. They begin at the southeastern tip of the Florida peninsula, about 15 miles (24 km) south of Miami, and extend in a gentle arc south-southwest and then westward to Key West, the westernmost of the inhabited islands, and on to the uninhabited Dry Tortugas. The islands lie along the Florida Straits, dividing the Atlantic Ocean to the east from the Gulf of Mexico to the west, and defining one edge of Florida Bay. At the nearest point, the southern tip of Key West is just 90 miles (140 km) from Cuba. The Florida Keys are between about 23.5 and 25.5 degrees North latitude, in the subtropics. The climate of the Keys is defined as tropical according to Köppen climate classification. More than 95 percent of the land area lies in Monroe County, but a small portion extends northeast into Miami-Dade County, such as Totten Key. The total land area is 137.3 square miles (356 km2). As of the 2000 census the population was 79,535, with an average density of 579.27 per square mile (223.66 /km2), although much of the population is concentrated in a few areas of much higher density, such as the city of Key West, which has 32% of the entire population of the Keys.
The city of Key West is the county seat of Monroe County. The county consists of a section on the mainland which is almost entirely in Everglades National Park, and the Keys islands from Key Largo to the Dry Tortugas.

Auburn Coach Wife Kristi Malzahn Agrees with Match & eHarmony: Men are Jerks
My advice is this: Settle! That's right. Don't worry about passion or intense connection. Don't nix a guy based on his annoying habit of yelling Bravo! in movie theaters. Overlook his halitosis or abysmal sense of aesthetics. Because if you want to have the infrastructure in place to have a family, settling is the way to go. Based on my observations, in fact, settling will probably make you happier in the long run, since many of those who marry with great expectations become more disillusioned with each passing year. (It's hard to maintain that level of zing when the conversation morphs into discussions about who's changing the diapers or balancing the checkbook.)
Obviously, I wasn't always an advocate of settling. In fact, it took not settling to make me realize that settling is the better option, and even though settling is a rampant phenomenon, talking about it in a positive light makes people profoundly uncomfortable. Whenever I make the case for settling, people look at me with creased brows of disapproval or frowns of disappointment, the way a child might look at an older sibling who just informed her that Jerry's Kids aren't going to walk, even if you send them money. It's not only politically incorrect to get behind settling, it's downright un-American. Our culture tells us to keep our eyes on the prize (while our mothers, who know better, tell us not to be so picky), and the theme of holding out for true love (whatever that is—look at the divorce rate) permeates our collective mentality.
Even situation comedies, starting in the 1970s with The Mary Tyler Moore Show and going all the way to Friends, feature endearing single women in the dating trenches, and there's supposed to be something romantic and even heroic about their search for true love. Of course, the crucial difference is that, whereas the earlier series begins after Mary has been jilted by her fiancé, the more modern-day Friends opens as Rachel Green leaves her nice-guy orthodontist fiancé at the altar simply because she isn't feeling it. But either way, in episode after episode, as both women continue to be unlucky in love, settling starts to look pretty darn appealing. Mary is supposed to be contentedly independent and fulfilled by her newsroom family, but in fact her life seems lonely. Are we to assume that at the end of the series, Mary, by then in her late 30s, found her soul mate after the lights in the newsroom went out and her work family was disbanded? If her experience was anything like mine or that of my single friends, it's unlikely.
And while Rachel and her supposed soul mate, Ross, finally get together (for the umpteenth time) in the finale of Friends, do we feel confident that she'll be happier with Ross than she would have been had she settled down with Barry, the orthodontist, 10 years earlier? She and Ross have passion but have never had long-term stability, and the fireworks she experiences with him but not with Barry might actually turn out to be a liability, given how many times their relationship has already gone up in flames. It's equally questionable whether Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw, who cheated on her kindhearted and generous boyfriend, Aidan, only to end up with the more exciting but self-absorbed Mr. Big, will be better off in the framework of marriage and family. (Some time after the breakup, when Carrie ran into Aidan on the street, he was carrying his infant in a Baby Björn. Can anyone imagine Mr. Big walking around with a Björn?)

SUMMARY
=======
Austin is the capital of the U.S. state of Texas and the seat of Travis County, with portions extending into Hays and Williamson counties. It is the 11th-most populous city in the United States and the 4th-most populous city in Texas. It is also the fastest growing large city in the United States, the second most populous state capital after Phoenix, Arizona, and the southernmost state capital in the contiguous United States. As of the U.S. Census Bureau's August 1, 2018 estimate, Austin had a population of 967,629 up from 790,491 at the 2010 census. The city is the cultural and economic center of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan statistical area, which had an estimated population of 2,056,405 as of July 1, 2016. Located in Central Texas within the greater Texas Hill Country, it is home to numerous lakes, rivers, and waterways, including Lady Bird Lake and Lake Travis on the Colorado River, Barton Springs, McKinney Falls, and Lake Walter E. Long.
In the 1830s, pioneers began to settle the area in central Austin along the Colorado River. In 1839, the site was chosen to replace Houston as the capital of the Republic of Texas and was incorporated under the name Waterloo. Shortly afterward, the name was changed to Austin in honor of Stephen F. Austin, the Father of Texas and the republic's first secretary of state. The city grew throughout the 19th century and became a center for government and education with the construction of the Texas State Capitol and the University of Texas at Austin. After a severe lull in economic growth from the Great Depression, Austin resumed its steady development, and by the 1990s it emerged as a center for technology and business. A number of Fortune 500 companies have headquarters or regional offices in Austin including, 3M, Amazon.com, Apple Inc., Cisco, eBay, General Motors, Google, IBM, Intel, Oracle Corporation, Paypal, Texas Instruments, and Whole Foods Market. Dell's worldwide headquarters is located in nearby Round Rock, a suburb of Austin.
Residents of Austin are known as Austinites. They include a diverse mix of government employees, college students, musicians, high-tech workers, blue-collar workers, and a vibrant LGBT community. The city's official slogan promotes Austin as The Live Music Capital of the World, a reference to the city's many musicians and live music venues, as well as the long-running PBS TV concert series Austin City Limits. The city also adopted Silicon Hills as a nickname in the 1990s due to a rapid influx of technology and development companies. In recent years, some Austinites have adopted the unofficial slogan Keep Austin Weird, which refers to the desire to protect small, unique, and local businesses from being overrun by large corporations. In the late 19th century, Austin was known as the City of the Violet Crown, because of the colorful glow of light across the hills just after sunset. Even today, many Austin businesses use the term Violet Crown in their name. Austin is known as a clean-air city for its stringent no-smoking ordinances that apply to all public places and buildings, including restaurants and bars.U.S. News & World Report named Austin the #1 place to live in the U.S. for 2017 and 2018. In 2016, Forbes ranked Austin #1 on its Cities of the Future list, then in 2017 placed the city at that same position on its list for the Next Biggest Boom Town in the U.S. Also in 2017, Forbes awarded the South River City neighborhood of Austin its #2 ranking for Best Cities and Neighborhoods for Millennials. WalletHub named Austin the #6 best place in the country to live for 2017. The FBI ranked Austin as the #2 safest major city in the U.S. for 2012.
