Michigan to the West Coast and Back
My family and I took a trip from Michigan to the west coast and down through California and back. On the way we visited many National Parks and scenic places. A few of the places we went were: Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, Seal Rocks Cove, Oregon, Redwood National Park, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Crater Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park and several others. We traveled in our motorhome over 18 states, 7500 miles in 19 days.

We headed to Cannon Beach for the weekend to enjoy the last few days of summer.
We stayed at: Cannon Beach RV Resort -
Its a nice full hookup RV park and is within walking distance to Cannon Beach.
Cannon Beach Visitor Information:
Make sure you check the tide tables and plan your Haystack Rock visit around low tide. There are lots of critters on the rocks and is easily accessible.
Oregon Tide Tables:

Cape Meares/Port Garibaldi - Gorgeous Oregon Series
I really would have loved to get aerial footage of Port Garibaldi, however the coastal wind was just too strong. It was slightly better at the Cape as the large bluff was blocking most of the wind until it shifted out of the south. At that point even there it was now too strong to fly. I was also attempting to take some timelapse of the waves and clouds and the wind blew over my tripod essentially ruining all the footage before it. So for now, enjoy a small taste of the Oregon coast. I will return to get some more comprehensive footage.
Cape Meares:
Cape Meares is a small headland on the Pacific coast in Tillamook County, Oregon, United States. The cape forms a high steep bluff on the south end of Tillamook Bay, approximately five miles (8 km) northwest of the city of Tillamook. Much of the cape is part of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department-administered Cape Meares State Scenic Viewpoint with three miles of hiking trails, which includes the Cape Meares Lighthouse. The cape is named after John Meares, a British explorer.
Port Garibaldi:
from visitgaribaldi.com - Garibaldi, Oregon is a small fishing village nestled against a hillside at the northern end of Tillamook Bay.
At the marina, commercial fisherman sling fresh Dungeness crabs, ling cod, rockfish, and even octopus up to the docks. Sport fishermen tell tales at the filet table and local watering holes about record Chinook, tuna and halibut. Kayakers paddle out to spot bald eagles, pigeon guillemots, and purple martins. While gulls circle above, harbor seals surface.

Cape Arago State Park Oregon
Views from several spots at Cape Arago State Park Oregon near Coos Bay. Whales are often seen from this location and large concentration of seals. So much to see and do along the Coast.
Central Oregon Coast
The central Oregon coast is an amazing coast range. Great for RV's, camping, crabbing and many other activities. These pictures were taken south of Newport, Oregon, the majority of them in Seal Rock, Oregon, a very tiny coastal town.

Visit to Bandon Oregon Part 1 - Bullards Beach SP
On our annual return snowbird RV trip up the Oregon Coast this spring we stopped at a favorite little coastal town called Bandon Bandon-by-the-Sea.
I'm putting together a blog post about our stay which will include a 3 part video playlist showcasing the Bullards Beach State Park we stayed at, the cool little historical town district and of course the wickedly cool beach it is most famous for.
In this first video. I'll show you around the state park we camped in including an old historic lighthouse, the campground, and a hike / dog walk on a trail out to Bullards Beach.
Stay tuned for parts 2 and 3 in the future...
To wet your appetite check out this past post and video I did during a late fall stop at Bandon Beach a few years ago -
Update - Part 2 is out - Part 2 -
