The (Secret) City of London, Part 1: History

The (secret) City of London is NOT part of the UK | England
The City of London is NOT London! Looks like a play on words but it's not. They are completely different cities.
I have been may times in London and there is so many things to do in the City of London, but this time I thought about talking a bit about the secret City of London.
The City of London is also knows as The City and The Square Mile because it only has about 1.12 square miles.
I talk on the video about the City of London about some secrets and facts about it but there is one in particular that most of the people don't know, and that is the London Bridge and the London Tower are not owner by London's government but they are owned by The City of London Corporation.
Some say that the City of London is not part of the UK, I don't know about that but the facts that I say on the video about the city of London I know they are true.
The city of London has a different mayor and he is usually called The Right Honourable Lord Mayor of London, The Lord Mayor of London has full authority over The City of London, The Square Mile.
There are many conspiracies about banking and finance in The City but for sure The City owns a lot of buildings and places outside of the perimeter of The City.

Secrets of Underground London
A gripping documentary revealing some of the mysteries hidden underneath London, some of which you probably didn't know were so cool!
Secret City - A film about the City of London, the Corporation that runs it.
(This is a Non-APB related film)
(August 2015) -Click here to support the follow up to Secret City
A film about the City of London, the Corporation that runs it, and its role in the economic crisis. By Michael Chanan and Lee Salter. See secretcity-thefilm.com
IT'S ALMOST A YEAR since anti-capitalist protestors, intending to set up camp in front of the London Stock Exchange in Paternoster Square under the banner of Occupy LSX, were ejected from the square and parked themselves instead in front of St Paul's Cathedral. The result was one of the starting points for this film: a highly public debate about capitalism and the Church.
But there was also another power acting in the shadows to eventually eject the Occupiers - the City of London Corporation. An ancient body which dates back before William the Conqueror, before there was a parliament in Westminster, which zealously guards its autonomy and privileges to this day.
This is our subject: a secret state within a state, with deleterious effects on democracy, politics and economics in London, the country, and the world, for the City is joint headquarters with Wall Street of global finance capital. In short, 'Secret City' isn't just a film for Londoners - especially in these times of crisis, the role of the City concerns everyone everywhere.
'Secret City' is a minimal budget film by Michael Chanan and Lee Salter which investigates the history and contemporary role of the City of London Corporation. We tell the story though interviews with politicians, academics, writers, activists and campaigners, counterpointed with unfamiliar archive footage and a musical score by Simon Zagorski-Thomas taken from the nursery rhyme 'Oranges and Lemons'.

Every other Wednesday we present a new video, so join us to see the truth laid bare...
London, Europe’s biggest and busiest metropolis, visited by 28 million tourists every year. They come for history, culture, and entertainment, but behind the glamour of the bright lights lies a concealed sinister city that most travellers don’t get to see. This is the Hidden City of London.
London is a city rich in history, but you won’t see it all from a double decker bus. In this programme we explore a secret subterranean world. We hunt for ghosts of centuries past, and unravel the most famous English mystery of all, Jack the Ripper.
In 1888, Jack the Ripper was the most feared name in London. The Ripper preyed upon prostitutes of the East End, in just ten weeks he savagely murdered five women, but to this day his true identity remains a mystery. In Victorian England the East End of London was a gloomy network of narrow cobbled streets shrouded in thick smog, life here was hard.
Each year on November 5th hundreds of bonfires burn across the city as millions celebrate Guy Fawkes Night. Guy Fawkes was a seventeenth century terrorist captured trying to blow up the Houses of Parliament with two tonnes of gunpowder. Fawkes was imprisoned in one of the most brutal and terrifying places of all, the Tower of London.
The West End is the Broadway of Europe. This is theatre land with over 40 playhouses in a single square mile. The Theatre Royal at Drury Lane is hundreds of years old, and seats 2500 theatre goers, both living, and dead. Mark Fox has been at the theatre since 1992, he claims to know of at least three ghosts that haunt the building, and he has a possible explanation for one of them.
In search of London’s darker mysteries we sail up the River Thames to one of the most glorious palaces in England. Hampton Court represents 500 years of royal history, and with it, countless hauntings.
Westminster, in the heart of London is Britain’s political hub and home to matters of vital national security, but these buildings were not built to withstand the impact of the Blitz of World War II. Instead Winston Churchill’s war cabinet held their meets at a top secret location below ground. Now a museum, the Churchill War Rooms have been left exactly as they were when they were abandoned in 1945.

Five secret gardens in the City of London
In the heart of London, in the global business district around St Paul’s, dedicated gardeners from the City of London Corporation tend more than 200 micro-parks in just one Square Mile. Many of this Square Mile’s 400,000 daily workers enjoy the flora and fauna through the seasons. Here five of these ‘Secret Gardens’ are introduced by the gardeners themselves.
The elected City of London Corporation also runs major open spaces outside the Square Mile, including Hampstead Heath, seven commons around London, Burnham Beeches & Stoke Common and Epping Forest – for everyone in the South East to enjoy free of charge. See cityoflondon.gov.uk

British Army and Armed Police activity in London: Op Temperer
British Army and Armed Police Activity in London following a CRITICAL threat to the nation. Armed police escort British Army 'Queen's Guard' whilst soldiers in battle gear stand outside Buckingham Palace at key locations alongside Armed Police.
Police increased armed patrols along with the deployment of the military across the United Kingdom as part of 'Operation Temperer' - the UK's response to the threat level being raised to the maximum level; CRITICAL following the horrendous attack on the Manchester Arena on the 22nd May.
This video shows that increase in police security, with more armed response vehicles and firearms officers alongside the British Army.
The first part of the video shows how the Queen's Guard Household Cavalry - The Life Guard on horseback are escorted by armed police and soldiers away from changing of the guard. These soldiers are active personnel who command armoured vehicles in modern day wars or previously on horseback as they have done since the 1600s and as a result require protection. All though in parade gear, these soldiers are not purely for tourist attraction - they can be mobilised to fight battles and maintain security if necessary.
The rest of the video shows armed police and soldiers standing outside key locations such as Buckingham Palace, Scotland Yard, Westminster Palace and Horse Guards Parade in central London as well as patrolling in Armed Response Vehicles.
Just to note that the soldier in blue outside the guard box is Royal Air Force, not British Army.
It's important to remember the deceased and respect the victims of the attacks. Rest In Peace.
And to thank the police/security/military and emergency services for the heroic services they provide 24/7, 364(5) days a year to keep us safe and protect us from.
It's also important that we will NOT stand down to attack on our way of life. We MUST be defiant!
