Madeira city guide - Funchal
Some of the buildings in Funchal’s Old Town have been standing since the 15th century, but today they rub shoulders with bohemian bars and design cafés. It says everything about the new face of Madeira’s capital where the warm winter sun now marries with more metropolitan pleasures. There’s still plenty of Madeira wine and boat-fresh seafood to go around, but now there’s so much more besides.

Hidden Spots of Madeira part 1
Somewhere in Campanario there is a little hidden beach Calhao da Lapa. It was our first time there. To be honest, we've never even heard about this place before. Glad we found it, it was loads of fun!
Don't forget your swimming mask to watch little fish going around:)
If you want to go there, remember, it's a long way down (and up after).

✔ Monte Palace Tropical Garden - Madeira Funchal
montepalace.com
The Monte Palace Tropical Garden occupies an area of 70.000 square meters and houses an huge exotic plant’s collection, coming from all over the world, together with swans and duck’s, that populates the central lake, peacocks and chickens, that walk free in the main areas of the property. In the central lake, the visitor may also admire the beauty and majesty of the swans. They prefer the relatively shallow cool water of lakes and ponds as their natural habitat. Despite of being actually admired in gardens all over the world, the black swans originate from Australia, Tasmania and New Zeeland and the wild white swans have their origin in Iceland and Scandinavia.
The Monte Palace Museum is an ideal exhibition space nestled within the beautiful surroundings of a tropical garden. There are three floors, two of which are dedicated to sculptures and the third houses a unique mineral collection gathered from the four corners of the world.
The exposition entitled 'African Passion' shows part of a collection of contemporary Zimbabwean sculpture from the period 1966 to 1969. More than a 1000 sculptures are distributed on two floors of the museum. The top floor concentrates on individual creations, allowing the viewer time to observe the characteristics and workmanship of each artist. The second floor captures the environment in which these talented men and women work in order to create and display their sculptures to the world.
'Mother Nature's Secrets', on the lower floor, proudly exhibits one of the finest private collections of minerals, predominately from Brazil, Portugal, South Africa, Zambia, Peru, Argentina and North America. From more than a 1000 specimens, around 700 have been specially chosen for display. Some specimens are displayed in hollows designed to imitate the environment in which the minerals form in the depths of our planet, whilst others are “suspended in air” to give the sensation of a planetary space where rocky masses gravitate freely. Also for your enjoyment is an exhibition of more than 300 semiprecious and precious gems, with a particular focus on diamonds, both rough and cut.
One of the most interesting characteristics of the Monte Palace Tropical Garden is the existence of a large collection of tile panels placed along the walkways and amongst the vegetation acquired by José Berardo, under the specialist direction of Manuel Leitão. This collection, considered to be one of the most important in the country after that of the National Tile Museum, is made up of Hispano-Moorish tiles of the 15th and 16th centuries and panels produced in Portugal from the 19th to the 20th centuries.

Madeira (Portugal) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Madeira in Portugal.
Madeira is an island of flowers located amid the Atlantic Ocean, with steep cliffs, green valleys, majestic mountains and world famous wine. Belonging to Portugal, it is located nine hundred kilometres southwest of the European mainland and six hundred kilometres west of North Africa. Funchal is the capital and from the beginning a feudal lord resided in the Palacio De São Lourenço along with the military, and later the governor of the island. In 1493 King Manuel The First founded the cathedral which was the first to be situated beyond the continent of Europe and was designed according to Mudéjar style, the Arab construction method of the Christian Moors. The small fishing village of Camara De Lobos is situated west of Funchal on the south coast and was made famous by Sir Winston Churchill who painted its small harbour. São Vicente looks like something from a picture postcard and wine growers proudly display their traditional homes and well laid out vineyards. The town is particularly well known for its Grutas, Madeira’s only accessible cave system and which indicates its geological past. In the north east is the tourist centre of Santana with its straw-roofed houses, beautiful flowers and streets lined with patterned cobblestones. Amid a fertile terraced landscape is the picturesque centre of Faial and its modest parish church, the destination of a major annual pilgrimage. The village exudes tranquillity and there has been little impact of tourism as both the landscape and the local people have retained their original character. Madeira is like a jewel in the Atlantic, possessing its own rich variety of exceptional, natural landscapes. A wild beauty with many hidden treasures!

Madeira (Portugal) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Vacation travel video about destination Madeira in Portugal.
Funchal is the capital of the Atlantic island of Madeira and is situated in a natural, picturesque bay, surrounded by steep mountain slopes. With churches, palaces, mansions, museums and magnificent gardens, it is a city of both character and history. The Museum Of Religious Art is to be found in the former bishop’s palace. The sugar trade with Antwerp meant that paintings and other works of art could be used as payment. Madeira has long been famous for its wine, stored in wooden barrels to mature and then exported all over the world. In the old rooms of a former monastery, it is pressed, matured and celebrated. At the beginning of a valley, São Vicente lies hidden beyond the steep slopes of the northern coastline. The tastefully restored centre of the village contains a seventeenth century church with a Baroque interior. There are gilded carvings, tile pictures and paintings on the altar. At an amazing acute angle, the gondola from the mountain station below the village of Achadas Da Cruz travels three hundred metres down to the coast and back. This most beautiful Baroque church on the north coast was established in São Jorge. Its external simplicity gives little hint of its internal beauty: gilded wood carvings and illusionist paintings adorn the church and its altar. To the east of Madeira is the natural bay of Machico, the oldest settlement on the island. Today, Madeira’s third largest city extends from the coast to the hills of the wide and fertile valley of the Machico River whose inhabitants live from the cultivation of fruit, vineyards and fishing. Its extraordinary landscapes and exotic fragrances have been captivating visitors for centuries. Madeira, wild beauty amid the Atlantic Ocean!

Secret inside Premium Class Lounge Funchal Madeira
Secret inside Premium Class Lounge Funchal Madeira.
What is even more sad it that both the humans knew what they were doing since they are both so uncomfortable sitting on the edge of the chair and also uneasy about what they were doing.
I wish I has time to help them get rid of this unpleasent behaviour because if it continues it will become more difficult to shake it off from their lives.
What will the children learn from these adults? and how would they behave in the future of our planet.
Lady was reading Hide and Seek or it would have been Hide and Sick
Greedy Selfish You been framed VIP TAP Premium Lounge Funchal Madeira
Greed, Selfish
You been framed
One of the most basic lounges by any standard. Just imagine.
The lounge post a notice to customers clearly about the food layout.
Also all the airlines clearly notify customers that the food is to consumption within lounge only.
Not to put inside the bag the way in which these two passengers are doing
I feel terrible by their selfish act they between them took 6 sandwiches five cans of drinks 3 bottles of water.
It is so sad that we have this kind behaviour
It is extremely sad to find grown up humans beings are steeling cheaply made sandwiches in the Tap Lounge at Madeira Airport.
The food in the lounge is not even good quality and they are travelling to London UK. What is going on to human honesty and consciousness

MADEIRA ISLAND - Europe's Hidden Hawaii
SUBSCRIBE -
When I visited Madeira Island I had no idea how similar it was going to be to Hawaii. Except, it wasn't just similar, it was better (at least better than the islands I had visited in Hawaii). It was so much cheaper in Madeira than it had been in Hawaii. And Madeira is much closer than Hawaii. I absolutely loved my time there. I stayed in an incredible 5* spa hotel (Savoy Saccharum) in quiet Calheta. We spent our days driving around, exploring the island. From Seixal to Porto Moniz to Funchal and up into the mountains. And when we eren't exploring we were eating all the gorgeous food and drinking sangria. If you're thinking about visiting Madeira Island I HIGHLY recommend that you do. Just look at that water! And there's so much more fun stuff that you can do in Madeira that isn't even in this video.
